Brilliant salesman

I am Australian and live not far from the Maton factory and own several highly collectable models. I actually own a Maton BB1200 which is amazing Best guitars ever. Never ever hesitate to purchase a Maton guitar. As Aussies say they are ‘true blue’ the best.

I have a maton ebg 808..and a 1981 maton Coolibah..they have different personalities..the coolabah is a sweetie..the 808 is my workhorse..

I live near Box Hill and have visited the Maton factory twice :)

What is your opinion on a pickup system which mixes transducers (piezos mounted on the guitar top), not an undersaddle piezo, and a microphone in the body?

Thank you very much for your question my friend , there are some really good ones out there... but i still think that this combination that Maton uses, is not only a lovely sounding one but also the most reliable and solid option... when you're a touring artist, a session musician or even someone that really has to trust your guitar anytime... i suggest this as the best possible option ❤❤❤

I bought a maton messiah, as my 2 main guitar heroes both use matons. But after browsing forums I got to the conclusion that they aren't great acousticly, only amplified. Well, i went to try out several furch guitars: red series, yellow series, vintage 2 and vintage 3. Atleast 2 of each. I wasn't impressed, not even by the furch red. The furchs were louder and didn't feel as stiff but at no point did my messiah feel or sound like it was inferior. Recommend these for sure

Interesting to hear your. Most Furch owners swear they will never buy anything else. I’m not impressed by the tone I hear from them on KZread. The Maton’s always sound great.

@@im58woody It's like I said: literally by reading stuff online I automatically went "oh my maton is for live shows, now I need a boutiqe feeling guitar for at home". I went straight to the red series. The guitars felt alot more fragile and the sound by no means impressed me. It wasn't bad, it's just that my messiah sounds in the same league AND the woods used in my messiah seemed a step up too... Luck of the draw I guess. It may be preference, but I guess this goes to show you have to try and play instruments yourself. The messiah is also the top of the line model, just under Custom Shop. Acousticly, I heard more good things about these higher end models I must admit.

@@vyvynylification Very interesting, i was actually about to comment on the fact that amplified, they're the most beautiful sounding out of any acoustic brand. I feel you can hear this well with tommy emmanuels 'amazing grace - live in japan'. The guitar just sounds incredible there. But acoustically, they never sound that special to me. Maybe its a feel thing?

Great player. Confusing video. You show how you adjust the 5 series preamp, but then never show how it sounds with the final adjustment you make. Instead playing the signature model with the different, earlier version preamp. I have to admit that I do not like the thin quacky piezo sound that you are getting from the system.

i hear these are the best plug in...but not very good acoustically

Must agree with your statement. Personally it took me over 6 months to adjust my ear to Maton's balanced and clean tone esp. after playing top of the line Martin acoustics. It was on a quieter side at first but after a while I understand that this is unique Maton's tone very soft and gentle

Mine sound great acoustically. Maybe not as loud acoustically as other brands but still plenty loud enough for my ears

@@SergeUnplugged I own and play both Martin's and Maton's. Maton's are not inferior in anyway unplugged...different, yes. But as all guitars produce different sounds...the Maton sound is different. I personally don't like the sound of Taylors, but I don't say they are inferior, just because of my personal preference.

OK plugged in. Not so unplugged.
