Seconding this! It was one of my favorite series because you learned so much not only about the shoes but also insight into the dancers approach to dance.

I’m not a ballerina, but I find it so fascinating!
The way she sits could be a meme... "Tell me you're a ballerina with out telling me you're a ballerina." Those pointed toes! OMG, so nice.
Once was dressy on a ballet and one of the student dancers’s shoes were starting to go and one of the solo artists took her a side and said “the shoe bin is down the hall just go grab a new pair - no one will know” it was so wholesome cause the student was so happy with her new shoes. It was so cute
I started watching Maria Khoreva videos during the pandemic. She’s that precise about explaining everything it’s cool. She actually does a lot of dual explaining in English and in Russian. She’s also that flexible head to toe, her extensions are mind boggling. But, in a video she mentioned she started in rhythmic gymnastics before ballet, so that helps definitely.
"I eat cheese and she... eats vegetables." 😂 Never in my life have I used it for anything other than cheese lol this gave me a good giggle

I use the same tool for cheese and carrots, works either way, and both go great on a big juicy salad.
Yes please bring the series back. And the one about fittings. And you did a couple where you looked at people dancing and talked about their shoes, I think with Kathryn Morgan. The more technical videos are always my favourites. The reaction videos are fun, I appreciate they get views and make you money, but there are not as many people with the hard core technical knowledge serving the nerd population so any scraps you can feed us are gratefully received.

Yeeeeees, this!!!! I feel so sad that the reaction videos get a looooooooooot more views than the informative ones. There's so much to learn with Josephine and don't really learn much with the reaction videos 😔

I want the technical knowledge too!
I find the customizing and pro fitting videos really cool to see. it amazes me that even though some dancers get customized, handmade shoes, they still have so many little (and big) things to do! my mom used to dance for NYCB (back in late '50s/early '60s), and she's told me stories of some girls using raw meat basically as toes pads/cushioning! she was always insistent on it... but thinking back, I always studied contemporary dance, and maybe it was just a horror story to keep me out of the ballet vortex!?

oh wow!
Please bring back shoe hacks. It’s interesting watching the various ways the dancers customize their shoes and their reasons for each hack. It wouldn’t be a bad thing if you had a brief bio about each dancer.
I took one ballet class. With adults. When I was 16. But I have always loved ballet. I don't know why I started watching your videos but now I watch just about every single one and the amount of information I currently have on pointe shoes is kinda insane.
I love the disclaimers you give about learners not partaking in certain customizations, as they are not applicable to non-professionals.
I loved the pro pointe shoe hacks videos. I still can't get over how Skylar Brandt preps her shoes. Please make them a regular series!
Please, bring back the interviews with the professionals!!! It was my favorite series along with the one where you explained the characteristics of different pointe shoes. You are very knowledgeable and it's nice when we can learn with you!!
Not Josephine biting her lip watching Maria Khoreva pointing her foot 😂
I'm starting ballet dance next month, on the very month I turn 28 years old. And I must say, a small but not negligeable amount of what made me do it was Josephine's dedication and passion for all of this. If by chance, someday, you happen to see my feet dancing and you say they're gorgeous, I think the compliment will make me faint, at least. Keep being your amazing self. ♥ Love from France.
I used to 3/4 my shanks when I had traditional shanks because it prevented the shank from breaking too low and dying very, very fast. All depends on how your foot type stresses the shank. Now I have synthetic shanks which are very resilient. I also pre-jet glue the end of the box mostly as a moisture seal to prolong the life of the glue so the back of the platform won't soften and sink as soon.
The professional customization series was why i started following you! Please bring it back!

I love the series of shoe hacks. 👍
Dancers customizing their shoes is like people getting their clothing tailored, both start with getting something in a base size that fits but then it is getting altered and refined to be perfect to you and only you!!
Bring back that series! Those were my favorite!
Yessss more pointe shoe hacks please!
You know what ballet did to me? I frankenstein my street shoes. Like add weird pads and sew elastics inside my running shoes or heels or make cuts inside my new converses in very specific places, so they're instantly broken in...
I would love to see more videos like this one, reacting to and explaining to us newbies dancers breaking in their shoes.
Loved the video (as always!). Btw, she always introduces herself on the beginning of her videos, so you can easily learn to pronounce her name correctly. It's Choreva, like a pronnounced "H" not "Ch" and not "K". :)
So excited for this video!
I JUST GOT MY POINTE SHOE LETTER IM CRYING😭😭😭😭YOUR SUCH AND INSPIRATION TO ME
I loved watching videos with pros showing how they customize their shoes!
I want to say that I absolutely love all of your videos. I've not danced (officially) in about 15 years and I can see that pointe shoe technology has evolved and people are just generally so much more knowledgeable about them these days. I'm learning how many misconceptions I had when I was younger, and no one to correct them, as our local fitters weren't that knowledgeable either. I remember being so frustrated but no one knew anything about pointe shoes other than "buy shoe, wear shoe, break shoe" and just repeat. You'd ask your teacher for advice and the best I got was, "just try shoes until you find one you like." Which... yes. But a little guidance wouldn't have hurt! Anyway, I'm rambling. It's so cool to watch these videos and learn things I wish I'd known back in the day. And it makes me really, REALLY miss pointe.
I LOVE watching each dancer’s hacks! It’s so intriguing how each one has found totally different materials and tricks to make their shoes their own.
Bring back the pointe shoe hack! It’s so interesting to see what people do to make it comfy. I am always self conscious if I would be too late. I never really cared about dance. But watching dancers now, it just looks like a lot of fun. Plus I want to try it.
I love hearing your reactions! Even though I know why dancers “damage” shoes (read: customize) I love hearing you talk because you are so knowledgeable!
I am glad you saw her grater Josephine. Maria seems to be very wise with her shoes. Thank you for sharing this with us.
Do it! I love seeing the customizations and it's so interesting how you explain why someone might do one thing verse another.
Yes, please bring that series back!!!
Please bring back the customisation series! It’s so interesting
Yes bring back the professional hacks. Was my true favourite thing to watch!
Yes please! I would love to see more professional pointe shoe hacks! I loved that series.
YES, please do! You read my mind. I was just thinking the other day that I wished you would do some more videos with professionals and their pointe shoe hacks.
I used to be a dancer (now an animator) and just love how entertaining these videos are! Great job!
Would love to see a review of Tyrion Law’s customisation of her pointe shoes, her darning technique is amazing! She dances for the Ballet of Canada and thanks for doing this review of Maria Khoreva, she has returned back to dance after an injury
I'd love to see more. I'm always amazed. Also how they figure all this stuff out is crazy too 🤯
PLEASE bring back the pointe shoe breaking in convos!!!!!!! Nothing has helped me more with my pointe shoe journey than listening to you talk to professionals about what they do to their shoes and why.
Love you! Love her! Yes bring it back!
Point show hacks are why I started watching your channel please do more!
Yes! Bring back the series!
Yes please bring shoe customizing videos back 🙏🏽❤️
4:09 not her casually pointing her feet to the ground 😭😭😭
Maria is so beautiful and i felt a little connection because i danced on Serenade Strong for many years! of course my feet aren't as pretty, neither is the rest of me OR my dancing. but at least i have one thing in common with one of the best ballerinas in the world 😀
Bring it back! Bring it back! Bring it back! 🙆🏽♀️🙆🏽♀️🙆🏽♀️
First!! I love your videos, Josephine!
I love hearing you talk about how pretty the feet are. I’m not a dancer but I’ve been told I have dancer feet (the shape). Except my feet are freakishly wide at the ball. But i do have super high arches and my feet fall to a point naturally. Ive always been very self conscious about them but you keep calling feet that look like mine pretty. Thank you 🤓😃😍
I saw her perform once, i am still in loooove so much! ❤❤❤❤❤❤
I would love to watch that kinda series
I love watching pro ballerinas break their shoes. Idk what’s so satisfying about them
Yay thank you for reacting 🎉
Pls bring the series back This topic is so interesting.
So funny, I remember taking a hammer to the tip of my daughter’s Suffolk pointe shoes. We didn’t know why the tips were rounded, and she was complaining she couldn’t stay up. I flattened them puppies out. I didn’t realize some are rounded in purpose 😂
I loved the professional customization series and would love it back.
Maria Khoreva's video was interesting enough on its own but you made it even more interesting! Ty!! ❤
Love love love point shoe hacks! It’s how I found your channel 😂! I can watch pros explain why they make their shoes the way they do allllll day long. 😍
Yes bring it back!!
Yeees! I was waiting for this video!
Ballet is so not my world, but I do love seeing people being absolute nerds about what they're passionate about. The "omg her feet are so gorgeous 😭" sounds weird but I totally get the very specific joy about a particular aspect of your craft
Yessss bring back the point shoe hack videos!
Hi Josephine. I'm Anghely, and I'm from Ecuador. I've already been doing ballet for 8 years (here it's training parallel to school, and we graduated after 9 years). And I wanna ask-propose you something, have you ever proposed to go on an international tour? because here in our country we have a problem and that is that the few stores specialized in pointe shoes and accessories for dance, don't offer an adequate and complete service for selecting our points, and currently we can see that we have certain problems and certain shortcomings, especially for those of us who have had our first pointe shoes years ago, we have been discovering little things that are not right, and there is not a sufficient amount of variety of shoes here. Would there be a way in which you could do an international tour in Latin America? Really the dancers we would be very thankful if you propose to do that. Greetings. I love your videos and I love your work
Yes! Please bring back professional's customizing their shoes 💗💗
Five California ballet dancers seriously injured in crash as police look for suspect who fled on foot..... such talented and gorgeous lady's so sad
Thanks for another gorgeous video!
I’d love to see more pointe shoe hacks and reviews!
I miss your fitting videos, but I do enjoy your reactions too. Please bring back some fittings.
I call it a cheese grater as well lol and definitely yes on the customizations
Please bring the customizing videos back!! Love them..
Yes! Bring it back. I remember (Skylar Brandt who does almost nothing with her shoes and they last forever, haha.)
Hello Josephine - I agree with all the others … just can’t get enough of videos about hacks .. I loved the Kathryn Morgan episode - so Id vote for more one to one discussions with pro ballerinas, I would love seeing you visiting a factory and explaining the processes, interviewing staff and so on. It would be great if you could get a ‘maker’ (is that what they are called?) on screen to discuss with you .. maybe even someone from each of the major manufacturers? Id also enjoy seeing you interviewing people from costume departments of the companies to talk about customising footwear for different productions. Oh yes and you commented once that you would love to visit a pointe shoe museum? How about you do some content describing important shoes? Maybe you could visit the shoes in their ‘homes’ or talk remotely to a curator or private collector? My goodness this is a long comment … but Ive been a subscriber for the longest time … and you brighten my life!
Do you recommend darning your point shoes as a beginner? ( if it matters, I’m an adult dancer that started to take ballet classes about a year now) Btw: love your content❤❤❤
I love the description "I eat cheese"
100% want to see more professional hacks!
Her last name is pronounced "Horeva", the K isn't really pronounced. I love Masha. She's one of my favorite dancers!
1:18 me in training, doing this everytime i get new pointes every 6 months…..👀👀whoops But it works for me. I have capezio and they’re the best for me, they’re the ones I’ve had a while and it always has worked for me but If you’re like in your first pair of pointes shoes, totally take Josephine’s advice and don’t crack your shoes like that. You have to find over time what works best for you, you can even ask your pointe shoe seller/fitter what could work for you Have a good day everyone!❤❤
I follow her she is amazing.
Hey Josephine, I just wanted to ask you a question about an issue I’ve been having with my first pair of pointe shoes. Basically, the heel keeps popping off when I roll through Demi pointe, my shoes fit really well, they’re Grishko Nova 2007’s and I’ve sewn wide mesh elastics over the ankles to try and fix the problem but it hasn’t really worked. This may be because the shanks are quite hard but I don’t know, if you could give any advice or anyone else that would be great. Thanks!!
"If you guys want us to bring that series back, let us know." Josephine. No need to ask; if you make it, I'm going to watch it. The end. And my dance experience was 6 weeks of a parks and rec class when I was 5. LOL
I don’t dance anymore but find it very interesting our go to dance shoes were Capezio. Now I wear Cavallo Classic Passage lol.
Please bring them back!!!
Yes. Bring it back AND find out what they are wearing INSIDE their shoes. I am a ballet teacher and have gone back to having my beginning students wear paper towels in their shoes so they don't get used to cushy pads. The pads seem to prevent proper articulation of the feet. If they are having trouble with paper towels then we move to Perfect Fit inserts.
More pointe shoe hacks!!!!!!!🎉🎉
The cheese grater 😂😂😂😂
I almost broke my ankle because of my arch I needed a hard shank for my second shoe (my foot can point all the way to the ground)
Hey Josephine what is your favorite brand of pointe shoes?????
After you showed how Skylar Brandt basically has no shank I’ve never been the same, please continue that series!
Yes bring back customization vids. PLEASE.
I wonder if we can do this with everyday heels!
as a second year dancer how long would it take to go on point if they practice at home and genraly have no issues?
Maria Khoreva…love her videos
We want, do it again ❤
Bring the pointe shoe prep videos back!
BRING IT BACK!
I would love to see the pointe shoe hacks
I would looove to see you fit Maria.
