Not long ago, I learned that planes usually don't use reverse thrust during night landings and also avoid it if the runway is long enough. Apparently that's to reduce noise levels

Speaking of wheel well fires, you should look into the Nationair 2120 incident. A DC-8 flying with underinflated tires caused them to explode and catch fire during the takeoff run. There were no warnings indicating this, it was only when they reached the climb phase that the plane was losing hydraulics. I won't spoil too much since it's an interesting topic to look into.

Hi swiss ! I tought you were going to test the XP12 vanilla brakes fire, because it has been implemented on the 12.1.0 ! So now smoke AND fire are simulated for every plane in XP12 ! Even add-ons like the A340 🤩

@@Swiss001 Oh I didn't know it wasn't written ! But I tested multiple hard braking landings and I got smoke and fire ! With vanilla aircrafts and even the 720 and Zibo btw !

Glad I bought the 757! Going to go test this out now!

it does remind me of an accident of cathay pacific flught 780, where engine 1 was stuck at almost full power during landing with no controls over the engine, forcing the pilots to land more than 100 knots faster. it landed hard and the pilots used max brakes, and came to a halt just 300 meters before entering the water. the breaks did reach over 1000 degrees C due to the extreme braking and an evacuation was ordered

Zibo 737 for XP12 and PMDG 737 both simulates plug operation (deflate when overheated), but not landing gear fire.

Watching this in class on my watch right now, cant stop the swiss grind!!

as far as i know almost every default aircraft in x-plane simulates brake fade and temp, in the a330 there’s also a brake fan to cool them off
