Why Phones Don't Have Removable Batteries Anymore

Тәжірибелік нұсқаулар және стиль

There still are phones with removable batteries on the market - you just don't see them as much. They’re less popular and a little outdated. More common are gadgets with batteries that are glued and screwed into the inside of the phone. You can take it out only with special tools.
There are a few reasons why phones with removable batteries have lost their touch. One of them is that this new non-removable battery isn’t only for your convenience. The lifespan of an average smartphone battery is about 24 months. After that, it starts losing its capacity. And your service provider will be happy to sell you a new phone!

❗️ How to make your battery life last longer: ❗️
- Check location tracking for all your apps 2:40
- Ditch live wallpaper and other visual effects 3:25
- Turn off automatic app updates 4:03
- Check battery usage 4:40
- Tone down the screen brightness 5:09
- Don’t drain or charge the battery completely 5:39
- Turn off Bluetooth and WI-FI when you don’t need it 5:54
- Shut off unnecessary push notifications 6:17
- Avoid temperature extremes 6:55
- Reduce the screen timeout 7:28
- Avoid using your phone while it’s charging 8:03
- Use Airplane Mode not only on planes 8:19

SUMMARY:
- Non-removable batteries don’t need a back panel, which means they take up less space inside the gadget. Slim smartphones simply look more stylish and modern!
- Giving up removable batteries also made it possible to have waterproof phones.
- With the battery tucked inside and difficult to get to without that removable back panel, it makes it harder for a thief to disable tracking features.
- With location turned off, your battery won’t have to work overtime tracking where you are all the time.
- What kind of wallpaper do you have on your phone right now? If it’s a bright flashy animated one, then your battery doesn’t last very long.
- Sometimes just one power-hogging app might be the problem. Looking through your smartphone’s battery usage can help you pinpoint which app it is.
- Whenever your phone is lit up, precious battery power is slipping away from you. You can lower the display brightness from the quick settings menu.
- Don’t wait to charge your phone when it turns off, and unplug it before it reaches 100%. Both these extremes drain the battery.
- Your phone will keep looking for a new connection as long as Bluetooth or WI-FI are enabled but the gadget isn’t connected to anything.
- Your phone wakes up for each notification and lights up the screen to show you a message and give you a chance to reply.
- If it’s too cold or too hot, it can strain the battery and shorten its lifespan.
- If your phone is on but you’re not using it, the screen will automatically turn off after some time, usually 1-2 minutes. That’s more than likely a lot longer than you need, so why not reduce it?
- Reading, watching videos, or gaming on your phone when it’s plugged in can distort the battery’s charging cycles.
- As you know, Airplane Mode switches off a lot of features, but you can always manually turn on the ones you need the most without leaving Airplane mode.

I just learned that the phone don’t have batteries because they are never really off! That’s the only way to actually turn a phone off is to pull the battery out But these new phones don’t do that Because even when the phone is off the camera is still watching and “Siri” is still listening 👂 You can never really turn these phones off It’s scary This video won’t say that though lol

When faced with the need to upgrade my phone earlier this year I chose an older LG V20 with a removable battery. Why? I can change the battery in less than a minute, still have an excellent phone, and it has a headphone jack that works with a DAC. Plus, it's a little thicker and fits in my hand pretty good. The LG V20 replaced my notebook and iPad because it seems the be the right size and the right equipment.

Great points BUT the Galaxy S5 was a great device with waterproof and a removable battery which came out over 5 years ago. I think most people would prefer a slightly “thicker” phone for much better battery life. It’s quiet absurd that we’re told to carry a headphone jack adapter dongle but carrying a backup battery it crazy? 🤔 Also it’s not hard for a thief to steal a phone a turn off “find my iPhone” by turning the phone off. Please bring removable batteries back 🙏🏽

Poor people like us still have cheap phones with removable batteries. The expensive ones don't.

@@sturmtiger1508 here in philippines, almost the half of population in filipinos are using removable batteries (including me*). When we have just 1% of the battery, we will turn off then remove the battery and put it again then power on and thats it! We're now have a 30-50% of battery. Sorry for wrong grammars*

Well some people used to remove their battery so nobody could "listen" . As long as your phone has a charge, even if it is off.....they can listen. Not with a removable battery though

My phone's background is APOD (Astronomy Picture of the Day). Not live per se, rather it's scheduled to retrieve and set the picture each day.

My LG V20 has a removable battery. It wasn't that big of a deal to me until my USB-C port stopped charging my phone. I ordered extra batteries and a wall charger. Now I can keep that phone in service for many more years. Much to the chagrin of the phone companies. I know I "should" upgrade... but the phone still works perfectly, and no scratches or broken screen. This unnecessary forced "need to upgrade" every year is actually maddening and horrible for the environment.

I have an old Samsung Blackjack phone for going on ten years. It came with two batteries. I wore out one. I found a replacement on the internet. I intend to use the phone as long as I can. I have a pay as you go plan for $117 per year including tax. I have a Magic Jack for home use. I figured I've saved thousands of dollars by not getting addicted to a smart phone.
