I’m slowly starting to live life again thanks to you! I’m learning to not pressure myself to rush recovery and to have a toolkit ready after I expand activities. I’m a mom of athletic boys and after a week long baseball tournament I am on day 3 recovering. I have cried and gone through so many emotions but I’m writing a gratitude journal, practicing self care, trying to focus on the positive and praying. It’s helping and I find that sometimes even in recovery, that my mind will tell me I can’t do something and I’ll go back to couch bound, but if I get up and do a little at a time anyway then it calms down and sees it’s okay.

My CFS was triggered by glandular fever. I will never forget the doctor who told me I have ‘post viral fatigue’ which is considered CFS after 6 month. The panic I felt at having to deal with it for 6 months or longer. Then going online and reading forums where everything was negative and I read over and over again ‘recovery is impossible’ ‘less than 5% recover’. I really wish I had never been told or read those things. I know it impacted my recovery hugely. I’ve had CFS for 7 years but have got to a point where I now live alone, have a dog, socialise and live a fairly Independant life- but nowhere near where it was pre CFS. However the emotional turmoil is what I believe has kept me stuck here and unable to get to ‘full’ health where I don’t have to rest, I can exercise without fear of crashing. My brain had obsessed over my symptoms every minute of every day for 7 years! Of course it makes sense I’m stuck. Thanks for your videos, it’s resonated and given me fresh motivation to believe I can get past the place I’ve been stuck in a make a full recovery. I know brain training works as it worked for me when I had GAD. I now hardly ever experience anxiety and when I do I don’t let it scare me I essentially tell it to fuck off and it does! Anyway enough rambling, let’s hope 2024 is a year of recovery for many people with CFS!

It's a delicate balance between doing too much and doing too little. I overcame my crippling insomnia by doing the Uberman sleep schedule which entails 20 minutes of sleep every 3 hours. So that was a paradoxical approach with a lot of sleep restriction. Out of the comfort zone.

@@oscarperea-sandoval6836 Yes, I am seeing how my reaction (rather than my RESPONSE), to how I feel (mentally/physically) directly impacts how a symptom expresses itself in my body. I realize how my anxiety and fear actually make me feel physically worse (not just emotionally). Keeping a mindset of "oh it's ok I feel unwell , I know it's just a passing sensation" has helped hugely! I have not had a break from illness in 5 years. Bedbound for past year. I have actually gone out to 5 nighttime music/social events, in 8 this healing time. Never in my wildest dreams.... Improvements: CFS flares, Exhaustion, GI issues, insomnia, MCAS syndrome, bladder pain, vertigo and tinnitus have lessened by 70% in 10 weeks of practice. I watch Miguel's free videos. I also Googled neuroplasticity/the mind/chronic illness. I read articles and forums daily. Astonishing stuff I've learned. ❤

You said, that when we are in an AP we need to pull back, so i pulled back a lot, and you said that there can be some fear as long as we are Not paniking. Surprise i did both and my symptoms are worse than ever before in the months before and now i am flaring up from simple Tasks again like eating, earlier the flare up Was never longer than 2 hours now the flare up is since 12 hours lasting from eating and not over until yet on top of the AP. It seems although i try to stay cool, that i am worse than before. And only because i had a little bit of fear 3 days ago. No panicing. So a it seems you do not be allowed to worry or little bit of fear and b. I will never ever expand again if i am worse after that allthough i am keeping my composure. Maybe if you are in a severe state this rules only are for people with Medication on top. In recovery you are not allowed having any kind of fear not even the tiniest one then you are loosing. If i had known that i had Not expand.

I have partial recovery. 10.5 weeks since I started watching his free videos. I practice the tools in these vids 10-20 minutes a day. Most days I am a solid 70% better. I do indeed have a chunk of hours each week when I really don't feel well. At those moments I just accept I don't feel great, and occupy myself with something or some thought/memory that I enjoy. I simply will not give up. Miguel (and others in the world), gave me tools to unlearn my chronic illnesses. Neuroplasticity has helped me so much.

Question: What strategy do I use when multiple specialists & psychologists identified that I overuse logic & intellectualize as a coping/defence mechanism? After 40 years of the logic strategy, my logical mindset has disconnected me from my body & taught me to ignore the physical pain but especially my emotional pain. I am Autistic & have PTSD, so the most crucial part of my therapy is to tune in to my body, sit with difficult emotions & identify/describe the sensations & symptoms that each emotion causes in my body. This is a genuine question, I’m trying to understand if this method will be helpful for me; to balancing emotional regulation with logic when we’re literally working on me dropping in to my body instead of telling it to shut up & understand there will be pain. 😵‍💫😂 I might have misinterpreted your overall message in this video, so please do clarify if I have! Thanks so much for the content! :)
