Increasing bill amount reason is low power factor you can check your power factor in your generated bill if it's lower than 0.99 then yes it's low power factor reason behind high bill... Faced same problem and got solution called "Capacitor bank". By tata power delhi.

Same here bruh in Guwahati, our households meter was changed On 26 may the temperature was highest, so we used fans to ease off, the electricity consumption for the day was 3.1 unit 27 may, relatively cold temperature, so no fan was used. 4.9 unit was consumed that day, which is vague

Total agree with you... Even in Bihar the same problem we are facing...

in India they are charging 12 to 16 inr per unit which is equivalent to electricity charges in USA but the salaries and wages are equal to underdeveloped countries. Government needs to ensure that the wages and salaries per year are above 50 lakh if the prices of goods and services are being raised equal to the prices in developed countries

I'm from bihar sir, one big issue is that meter charge ₹600 /month and energy charge alag se. Pahle mai ₹700 ka recharge karwata tha per ab ₹1300-₹1500 ka recharge karwata hu. Company ₹20 per day charge karti h. Sath hi demand unit se jyada unit per ₹1000 fine leti h.

They are charging more in pick hours (During night more people uses ac etc). Dynamic pricing policy is applied in smart meter only. If every half hour meter reading is provided, then we can calculate total units consumption and applicable charges.

Consumers should given the right to choose between prepaid or postpaid just like telecom.

Same here In Bihar, More charge we are paying with this.

Smart meter lagne ke baad, randomly har ek do mahine me kuch paisa kaat leta hai Bill settlement bol ke... The last meter bill was fully paid and no dues were there. Still it is charging Bill settlement unnecessary cost. No transparency of what is being charged for.

Very First thing - consumer should be given a free choice of either prepaid or postpaid . Secondly - it should be established in front of consumers , beyond any doubt that the earlier digital meters and the new smart meters were recording the energy consumption in a totally fair manner . [ the average consumption in both cases should be almost same. ] I am sure that the above two steps if conducted in a proper manner , people will stop protesting .

A survey has also been done in our Uttar Pradesh for installation of smart meters , after election 🤔

Ha Bhai , pehle 1000 - 1200 ka lagbhag bill aata tha , lekin may ke shuruaat me meter change hua or prepaid meter lga , 2500 ka recharge Kiya tha, lekin Aaj light gyi.😮

Does we have to recharge first in prepaid Smart Metre just like mobile connections? If yes, and after that what if time by time company increases the price of recharges

Sir ye problem asal me nahi hai....main problem to ye hai ki peak hour me electricity ke unit charge jyada rahega aur normal me Jo tha wo to hai hi ....alag alag time PE alag alag charges lagega......

Human doesn't want that nothing should be smarter than themselves except smartphone 😂😂❤️

Real reason of protest is the new smart meter giving almost 3x to 4x Light bill as compared to old one For example if your average monthly bill is 800, after installing smart meter in 6 to 15 days more then 2000 rupees deducted which is not fair

Assam people also suffering 🤬 Charging too much bill 🤬

In Odisha Too Smart Metter charging more than usual and peoples are unhappy

In Bihar it's charging almost double

11:51 बिजली bale नया प्रीपेड मीटर का चार्ज ,अगर 1kw का कनेक्शन है और गलती से भी 1200watt ka भी लोड अगर चला दिया तो month ke end me ओवरलोड फाइन 200 रुपया या 300 रुपया एक्स्ट्रा देना पड़ता है , , सबकुछ जनता से ही बसुलते है।। बिजली bale ko घर l का लोड के हिसाब से सही kw सेट कर देना चाहिए की ओवरलोड fine ना लगे।इससे बिजली बिल सही आएगा।। सबकुछ साफ साफ बता देना चाहिए की मीटर का किराया कितना है तो जनता जागरूक रहेगी।।की इसके बाद जो लोड रहेगा उसके हिसाब से बिल आएगा।

Allready we are paying huge tax on everything, other state people should also protest.

It is installed in Noida , UP wherein it charges 12 rupees .

I shifted in my new Flat which I purchased recently. I haven't installed my AC yet. We are only 2 members in this 3BHK flat. 1 fridge 465 litres 5 3 stars fridge, 1 water purifier, and 1 washing, 2 fans( 55 watts) we use only 2 LED 20 w , 1 inverter. My electricity bill are between 2000 to 2300. Is it fault in my metres or the prices are fair ?

Ham to gaanv me rahte hai, hamne badh chadh kar meter lagwa liya. Ab bina check kiye hi bill bhej dete hai 35-40K per month ka. Itane beiman hai, city me hamara ghar hai AC etc sab hai 5k se jyada kabhi nhi aaya, aur ganv me 12-15hr low voltage bijli aayegi aur bill aayega aasmani. Jabki solar bhi laga hua hai. 😅 Hamne to pay karna hi band kar diya dekhate hai ab kya hota hai

Even in Jammu this new meter is charging us....too much than usual

St, sc - 1 RS per unit 2 rs government will pay !! Obc - 3 RS per unit !! General - 10 RS per unit !!

Bihar me 2-3 year se prepaid meter hai , it is good I can see my daily electricity consumption, charges and balance.when balance become negative then light cut automatically

very easy to give confidence to people. just both old and new meters in parallel in few houses, and at end of month check the reading of both meters.

The revenue generated is also more. So obviously the government both centre and state will be more interested in smart meters. Here in Kolkata they've also installed smart meters.

One thing tell What is the Benefit ?

I am from Hyderabad, smart meters were installed long ago and we have not faced any problems, it has made convenient for the people who take meter reading because the reading is transmitted through infrared communication to the POS machine and the bill is printed immediately.
