The real reason why the clashes started is because Director K.Balachander, who produced Roja, didn't go to Ilayaraja and chose ARR instead. Up until then, all of Manirathnam's movies were composed by Ilayaraja, and Roja was the first movie where he was replaced. The fact that Ilayaraja was replaced by a kid hurt his ego so much that he still keeps berating ARR every chance he gets.

Songwriter.(ARR not as good in this) Finds the simplest music which can explain the most complicated emotions, situation. His music touches hearts , soothes our soul. His music is evergreen and tied to human emotion. His music lifetime = lifetime of human emotions. He is able to compose NATTUPURA PADAL in minutes other music directors can't. People : He has done 100s of films for free of cost and to maintain the economy of tamil film culture. Imagine single film running on one mans stardom and gets hit with flop story and amature actors he has done that a lot of times, carried the whole weight of the film with just music. He got the Royalties from SPB and others just to feed hundreds of musicians working under him, he gives them salary. He gives funds in any disaster and is a religious person by heart. Don't forget all this, he has gotten old now people can''t control emotions when they are old. Media and youtube wants to get views in his name.
