Why Overseas Vietnamese (Viet Kieu) Should Travel Home. Kyle Le

a Kyle Le Vlog
Vietnam will always be on the back of all Vietnamese people living abroad. That's the one thing that all Viet kieu or Vietnamese abroad have in common, whether they are from America, Australia, Germany, Canada, and everywhere in between. Visiting Vietnam and visiting estranged family can be the most rewarding thing in a person's life. Visiting the countryside or the que can lead to new opportunities of self realization or discovery. This is exactly what Ngoc and I felt when we traveled to her birth place in a village not too far from Cat Tien. Everyone watching with family in Vietnam should go visit their family whenever they get the chance.

I had the same feeling when I returned home after 10 years. I love the land, the people and the food there. I would like to see more of Vietnam next time, it's just hard to leave my family to travel since I haven't seen them in so long. I posted a video on my experience returning home that I like to re-watch to reminisce, but also enjoy watching others' experiences as well. Thank you for sharing, looking forward to watching more of your videos!

Wow, your story brought back so much memory! It was over 40 years ago but I remembered when I was 5 or 6, the roof to our house in the country blew away during a storm and I had to run to the neighbor to help wade through the rice pond to collect the roof. Funny thing was the grass hut house survived the storm.

I just started watching your videos 2 days ago and haven't stopped watching them. You are a brilliant film maker and documentalist. You capture the moments perfectly with your friends and family and the country life is awesome you are comfortable in the big cities and the country as well. All the girls from Nina, Mango, Victoria and this girl are all so personable, funny and beautiful. The uncle and the aunts were all checking you guys together wondering if you guys were a couple, he he, its so funny i would give any amount of money to be a fly on the wall about what they were saying if i knew the language that is.

It was also awesome to almost die trying to cross the street....... Nice video kyle.

Great video man. I recently went to Vietnam to visit and the experience was just like this. Everything you she did in the Video I did too. It was the anniversary of my Grandfathers death and it was awesome cause the day of we went to his grave to light incense in the morning and then feasted with everyone from my dads side of the family for the rest of the day. It felt great because the atmosphere was amazing, family together to celebrate for a person I never got to meet but thanks to my grandfather I'm here. And after that the rest of the trip was just awesome. Did everything I could do possible with all of my cousins. I never knew what family meant cause my whole life I dint have cousins or uncles or aunts till i went back to my homeland. But all in all one of the best vids so far man keep it up!

Love your new video quality. I'm thinking of doing a foot/bike travel in Vietnam starting in Sapa and ending at Ca Mau visiting every single city and town on the way. Just need to find someone willing to share this long journey. I feel like a failure haven't return to Hue in seventeen years since my family left Vietnam.

+TDN if you were to visit every single town and city it'll take you 6 months plus. it's not just one way, there are so many side roads, coasts, mountains, etc. goodluck

Kyle LeDotNet it's your accent when you said it, and also the way you make it sound like literature but to me, instead, it sounds funny as hell.

Reminds me of a little story to tell when I went to a beach in Vung Tau and there was a cow grazing on the patches of grass in the sand and i tried to feed it some branches and leaves. the branches kept falling out of my hand which pissed the cow off so every time I try to feed it, the cow headbutted me in denial lol.

Yeah, I know the feeling that you're referring to. It's been dogging me every passing day. By the time I do finally go, I may break down and cry when I actually set foot in Vietnam for real. I'm becoming more sentimental as I get older... ugh. As if I wasn't soft and sentimental enough already:(

Wow the village life is so much better than stupid big modern cities...the people although not so educated but they are very brave, hardworking and yet humble to serve others. This kind of village is so beautiful and rich with sincere love and i wouldnt want it to change...it should stay this way. Everything is also so fresh from food to the air. The girl is so beautiful too...you should marry her bro. Anyway good videoman...please make more village life videos like this...it reminds me of Malaysian villages.
