    @@Chai_Travel US has been garbage for the past 10 years. For those who doesn't live in the US, here are some facts: 1) high crimes, especially in large cities like Chicago, San Francisco, Los Angeles, New York, Miami 2) depending on which cities large or small. I can speak for San Jose and San Francisco, CA. Homeless are everywhere, they setup tents along freeway and inner streets. Trash, litters, used drugs, even human shit often found in San Francisco streets 3) random shooting, hate crimes, home burglar, car jacking is frequent. Car break-in is daily. 4) If anyone consider visiting USA, especially San Francisco, you may want to consider twice or triple. San Francisco is the worst. It is a shit hole! Most family oriented Vietnamese women are in a way being a subordinate to their spouses. It is probably due to how they had seen the roles and responsibilities of their parents in the house. These also explain why the majority of working class Vietnamese men would give their hard earning moneys/salaries to their spouses to manage any household spendings (low wage earners tend to keep their moneys at homes). Another reasons is to prevent over spending due to most of these men would go out with friends and spend their money when becoming more generous from alcohol intoxication or don't stop gamblings. These also explain why the divorce rate is very low when these women counting the money when their spouses get paid. These also explain why these women almost never say no to intimacy, and they rarely say no even when they have a headaches. These women were told that it is their responsibilities to make sure their spouses are happy and satisfied. These also explain why single foreigners tend to agree with the roles and responsibilities except they prefer to keep money in the bank and separate if it is possible. These also explain why Vietnamese women like foreigners because they think foreigners have some money. These also explain why Vietnamese women assume foreigners visit Vietnam do have money and have money to spend. These also explain why foreigners love to spend their money in Vietnam due to generous foreign exchange currency rates. These also explain why so many foreigners come to Vietnam to spend their foreign currencies now and more than ever because good and services appear to be cheaper. These also explain how 10 of million Vietnamese are improving their lives over the last couple decades, and most of them work hard now so that their children will have a better future.

    the interviewee is on point and I'm looking to do the same. Been back to Vietnam quite a few times and each time I go back I always find it enjoyable, especially with the value of dollar goes a long way. I find everything to be dirt cheap compared to living in one of the highest cost city in America. Though I can speak Vietnamese somewhat, not the best, but conversational enough to get by. Only differ is I'm married so I need to be creative in finding ways for the wife to bless me with living in Vietnam for a few months as trial.

That would guarantee a pretty comfortable life style away from the mother country providing you lived a sensible lifestyle which means not partying and boozing it up every night of the week, just occasional and ensuring you have a decent partner that can also live frugally ie. is not of the opinion that farang money grows on trees. If not then wise to send her packing. Excellent video Chai. 🤩

    Chai, what do you think of the pollution comparing Vietnam to Thailand? I have been to Bkk a few times and was pleasantly surprised when I visited Chiang Mai and the cleanliness of the city vs Bkk. But then of course there is burning season in CM. Just wondering about what you've noticed. And maybe you're also used to seeing the trash in Bkk that you don't notice it so much in Vietnamese cities? Not sure. Trash and air quality. Oh, and I'm sure the motorbikes are largely the reason for the air pollution. But was it Da Nang where I saw a video of how the taxis and scooters were electric, thereby reducing the pollution? By the way, I am not faulting any cities in SE Asia. There ar so many American cities (I'm an American) that have trash and pollution issues too. I'm thinking ultimately of retiring to CM. Thanks!

  • @Chai_Travel

    @Chai_Travel

    4 ай бұрын

    Not so much trash anymore inside of the cities in the big cities I reckon. Air pollution is sometimes very bad in any city in SEA I’m afraid. The dry season is the worst, it’s also the factories, farming(burning or crops), which are making it even worse. I’d avoid the dry season in Chiang Mai, though it’s my favorite city in Thailand.

But Saigon city have petty theft but not life threatening. While in America. There violence theft with a lethal weapon, sexual assault, and everything cost more. Saigon is a business city and it's not meant really a tourist city.

When I worked in staffing, we regularly scheduled workers for 4 day 10 hour shifts. Gig workers like Uber and Lyft often have to work atleast 10hrs a day if that’s their main source of income. Also people who own restaurants usually have to start prepping early before they open, and then stay and clean/shut down once they close.
