1 diopter change cause 2% image different in retina. Our brain can accept 8% different or 4 Dioptres different in both eyes. More than that different becomes more than 8% and other ocular condition develop. In spectacle this different is 30% in contact lens 7-8%. You can try contact lens. If your vision in normal with -4.25 and comfortable with glass then no issues of wearing glasses. But you should avoid excessive near work like, Mobile, digital screen etc.

If power different is more then it will be more difficult to adjust. You can use contact lens or laser surgery to minimize the image differences in two eyes. In spectacle image differences is more than contact lenses. Thank you, Samir Sutradhar.

Excessive near work can increase your spectacle power more than normally it does. Generally upto 20-22years of age it keeps increasing then become stable but recent studies shows excessive near work can increase spectate power at any age. Power in one eye with other eye normal is generally more harmful than having similar power in both eye. You can follow the rule 20-20-20 that means "Take a break of 20 secs after each 20min and look at 20f feet far objects." You can do corneal topography to check your corneal shape, thickness etc. Please mention glass power.... Thank you, Samir Sutradhar
