Hey i noticed you said you went to L.A. when you defected to south korea and took up that program. please understand you went to a state where peoples views of things are very extreme and it is likely not the view of everyone in the country. it's a very diverse country. east coast of the US is vastly different and manners are a bit more expected. especially in the south east united states. and south central Us.

Sure, it's not perfect, but many people act as if they're living in the worst place in the world, meanwhile they're free to curse our president without legal repercussion, not realizing how great it is to have that freedom borderline treacherous.

People from ancient and homogeneous societies see the patriotism of America ( a young and very heterogeneous society) as off putting, but they need to understand that to create a united entity out of a vast multitude of ethnicities, races, political beliefs, etc., it is necessary to create a love for the constitution and ideas of America that is reflected in flag waving and respect for our troops. We are not ignorant of our weaknesses, but we believe our strengths are worthy of our patriotism and that patriotism is necessary for a functioning society of disparate people.

    - A lot of Americans, especially women, are taught that shaving and waxing are hygienic. I don't know if this it actually true, but my girlfriend says she feels dirty when she hasn't shaved in a few days. - People often pay to go to the gym because gyms have expensive exercise equipment that the average person wouldn't have access to otherwise. It's also nice to have a place just for exercise. The office is where you work, the gym is where you exercise, home is where you relax. - I think about patriotism like I think about family. You didn't choose your family, but you love them and take pride in them anyway. We share blood with our family just like we share culture with our fellow citizens. The problem is when your family or county does something bad and you don't say or do something. If you love them, you want them to be better and it's your job to help them. - America is made up of so many people from so many places, this makes it easy for us to find things from other cultures to enjoy! There is a restaurant in my hometown run by a Korean family and it's one of my favorite places to eat. They're always so kind and welcoming and they're food is always tasty! - Although many Americans only speak English, there is a strong pressure to learn other languages. People who can speak more than English are considered to be smart. Studying a second language is a requirement for graduating high school in my part of America.

There are some truly awful people in this country, but the vast majority aren’t racist, they aren’t xenophobic, and they are welcoming of immigrants. It makes me so happy, especially during these difficult times in late 2020, to see someone who was taught to hate and fear us, see some of the best in us, hairiness aside :). Many of us know what a terrible place North Korea is and how your leader demands unwavering loyalty and how he uses the media to brainwash his people, how he wants parades to honor HIM, and how any dissent is viewed as criminal. We don’t want that here either and we are lucky to have you here, to help us understand the world and ourselves better. @Earl Donavon Quite true, freedom of speech is a basic right. Strangely though, many Americans are shocked by the lack of respect Brits have for their Country, Government and even the Queen. We don't salute the flag and openly criticise everyone anyone and everyone in power, it's almost expected!

I’ve noticed in interviews with Asians on other YT channels that when Asians talk about what they like or dislike about someone, what they find attractive in people or unattractive, it’s usually physical or a behavior. When Westerners are asked, it’s a personality trait or about character. An Asian: good S-line and good manners. Small head and white skin. Sometimes you might hear sexy or humble, but usually it’s how someone behaves and looks. Westerners: nice, honest, good sense of humor, smart, giving, etc. One culture is what the person does and the other is what the person is. I mean, a western guy might say blond and small boned or a western girl might say the common tall, dark and handsome, but yeah.... for the most part, it’s different. I once watched an interview where they asked Japanese men if they could marry a “foreign” woman. Almost all of them said no. Do you know what the reason was? Because they were afraid a foreign woman would wear shoes in the house. Really? Behavior, which can be modified, not character - what you’re REALLY living with. This NK lady in the video noticed too that conversation was different based on what mattered to the culture.

  • @Hiekkalinna

And even more so, since not western countries wear shoes inside.. Like in Finland you don't wear shoes inside, it's just dirty and kind of discusting with how dirty your shoes are or can be, and also part of the culture to not wear them inside.. So it's kind of Americans or British (Hollywood movies etc) they have gotten the idea that all westeners wears shoes inside when it's in fact not true..

Go look up Antifa burning down low income housing, go look at BLM extorting black businesses in exchange for "protection" from looters and rioters (Read: pay us and we won't hurt you), then look at Democrat governers, lawyers, professors joining in. Look at democrat DEAs toss out the cases. Look at democrat politicians actually fundraising to get violent political extremists out on bail. Look at how the Proud Boys, despite have POC leadership and solely countering violent wings of AntiFa get smeared as white supremacist brutes. Look how Trump condemned them and told them to stand down, while Dems make excuses and cover for AntiFa. Look at the long list of political violence against conservatives being covered up by the media. Including multiple vehicular homicide attempts. These weren't done by far fringe lunatics in hate groups no dems agree with, like far right violence (which is universally condemned even by republicans), but rather these attacks were done by everyday dems. Including professors. I'll take the giant orange turd who jokes about wanting to be a dictator, but condemns violence, over the party who actively encourages violence while acting like fascists. @@nagual1992 Trump is a literal fascist who has violated the constitution repeatedly, and openly admits he won't even accept election results that don't favor him. Ignoring election results would make him a dictator. He's not joking about that. He falls back to "It was just a joke" when he gets in trouble for his words, but most of the time it's clear he was not joking. Just because looting and rioting happen during protests, that doesn't mean it was BLM, and Antifa's not even a real group. You may know it stands for "Anti-Fascist" and it applies to anyone who feels that way. Trump supporters have actual vehicular homicide in their record, not just attempted, and Trump has famously encouraged violence openly. Again, not joking just because it was a terrible and possibly illegal thing to say. His anonymous troops kidnapping US citizens who just happened to be outside near a riot location, then holding them in a random building with no charges, like in Portland, is pure fascism in the worst way. It sounds like you've been listening to way too many conspiracy theories and conservative media, and taking it at face value. Breitbart is not real news.
