Why Nobody Travels To This Part Of India - First Time In North-East India, Guwahati, Assam 🇮🇳

Guwahati, the gateway to the enchanting northeastern region of India, is a vibrant city nestled on the banks of the mighty Brahmaputra River in the state of Assam. Known for its rich cultural heritage, stunning landscapes, and warm hospitality, Guwahati serves as the commercial, cultural, and educational hub of the region.
The city is a blend of the old and the new, where ancient temples coexist with modern infrastructure. The Kamakhya Temple, perched atop Nilachal Hill, is a significant spiritual center and a major pilgrimage site for devotees of the Hindu faith. Its mystical aura and religious significance draw thousands of visitors each year, especially during the Ambubachi Mela, a festival celebrating the Goddess Kamakhya's fertility powers.
Guwahati's natural beauty is awe-inspiring, with the Brahmaputra River flowing majestically through the city. The Brahmaputra's presence not only adds to the scenic charm but also influences the local lifestyle and economy. The river offers mesmerizing sunset views, and a leisurely cruise along its waters allows one to experience the city from a unique perspective.
The city's culinary scene is a delightful mix of Assamese flavors and diverse cuisines from across the country. From traditional Assamese thalis featuring flavorsome rice, fish curry, and assorted greens to street food stalls offering momos (dumplings), puchkas (pani puri), and delicious sweets, Guwahati is a paradise for food enthusiasts.
Guwahati also boasts educational institutions, including esteemed universities and colleges, contributing significantly to the intellectual capital of the region. The IIT Guwahati and Gauhati University are among the prominent educational establishments nurturing talent and fostering academic excellence.
The city is also a shopper's haven, with bustling markets like Fancy Bazaar and Pan Bazaar offering an array of local handicrafts, handlooms, and traditional Assamese silk products. The Assam State Museum is another gem, showcasing the region's history, art, and culture through its exhibits.
Guwahati's warmth, diverse culture, and breathtaking landscapes make it a must-visit destination for those seeking an authentic experience in the northeastern part of India. It's a city that not only captivates with its beauty but also leaves an indelible mark on the hearts of those who visit.

I WANTED TO SAY THIS TO TO FOR A LONG TIME : We eat Sabji or curry with breads to balance the spices , so eat curry's with their breads to get the proper flavour of that dish . If sometimes you dont understand how to eat a dish then ask someone around who seems to educated or speaks english usually ask college students or young people . Please dont give tips to people who are already earning or doing business , cuz they might expect same tips from other tourists . Give that money to unfortunate homeless people . Btw love your friendly and helping behaviour .

Davud, the reason why the internet connectivity is poor is possibly due to the harsh hilly landscape of Assam. Building cell towers and other associated infrastructure can be a tad challenging as compared to the other parts of the country due to this reason primarily.

Gateway of India is Siliguri. Sikkim is also in North East, so if want to visit Sikkim I don't need to visit guwahati. Same for dibrugarh, I can go through Rangia. Without Siliguri North East is incomplete. শিলিগুড়ি ছাড়া উত্তরপূর্ব অচল। উত্তর-পূর্ব ভারতে যেতে হলে শিলিগুড়ি ওপর দিয়ে অবশ্যই যেতে হবে।

Suggestion for you. Always try to eat food which is their local. Example - Don't eat idli wada in north its not good. Similarly don't eat chole bhature in south. Hope you get my point. Eat idli in south because it's their speciality and chole bhature in north because it's theirs. 😅😅 Try this trick from next time.

This is awesome. There are so many places to visit in India. But most westerners land in India and head straight to Dharavi slum or congested streets of old Delhi. Thats only 1 dimension. There are million dimensions to India !

Hi Davud, I've been following you for some time and I really like your videos around the world, especially those about the Caucasus, which is known very little in Italy. Furthermore I follow you because you speak easily understandable English. I'm trying to learn English and following you I practice.
