Fr im a growing creator and I don't really into shoutouts as it's mostly just creating constant viewers instead of building a community. It's like creating an instant bump in your viewers statistic just to have them leave next without way to have them back in short time is the worst thing for your channel growth. Doesn't mean it's not good or I'm against it. You just have to be so calculated about it so you won't fall deep after hiking fast high.

I think while yes slow growth is better to initially start with, I think having both is still the best option, because most of the platform is forced to do the slow growth, making it harder to seperate yourself from the pack, unless you get something like a shoutout.

It's pretty sad actually now that you think about it.

A shout out definitely helps a lot.. It’s a huge advantage. How about all the America’s got talent contestants who didn’t even win and managed to become popular from the show enough to have their own shows in Vegas anyways? They had no audience. They appeared in front of millions for an episode or two and got big. What about all the breakout stars who went from nothing to everything from a single viral video and managed to keep an audience? Many great creators never get discovered or get enough attention. Some of my favorite KZreadrs only have half a million subs when I’m sure they’d have more if the algorithm was kinder. He just wasted his shot. If by slow growth you mean to say “more experienced creators who’ve worked their way up and learned the in’s and out’s of a KZread video are more likely to succeed,” then I agree with that. But if you make good media that people enjoy, it’s really as simple as that

It's coz the poor man's instant subscriptions were artificial. People wanted to see what Jimmy's brother is like, and once they saw that both were doing some of the same challenges, that artificial growth quickly shrinked down.
