When I was younger I saw this guy at FC Midtjylland. He was dominating the danish league, dribbled through defenders like it was nothing. I remember thinking, this is the best player Ive ever seen in Denmark. And I dont think I'll ever see anyone better.

I've read once that there used to be a German community in Alexandria that was (business wise) important/influential to the city for a few decades from the 1870s or 1880s I think up until the 1930s. Also a German tribe did migrate to and ultimately settle in countries next to Egypt.

Between 2004-10. Egypt had sensational talent in Zaki, Zidan, Aboutrika and others. Eventhough they dominated in the African nation cup (3x champ in that period), it's a shame that Injuries kept them from making noise on the world stage in 2006 & 2010.

Arguably the closest thing to Phenomeno Ronaldo. Speed, agility, explosiveness, technique, eye for the goal. Those dribbling skills, to be honest I don't see them anymore in strikers (No.9) All they care about these days is staying in the box and head. Or they ran away to the wings. But not many can take on Defenders from a No.9 position like this guy. Too bad he didn't play at the TopTop

Im egyptian and i agree with u . Mohamed zidan is far better than salah but tbh he lacked the mentality of a world class player thats why his football career was short lived . But For abu treika and hossam hassan both of them shined in the football world when they were above 28 years old . Thats why they never made it to the big euro leagues

I remember watching him as a kid when Egypt won the CAF African Cup and to celebrate he went on top of the goal post and cut the net while dancing, he was the Salah of the day
He played like he's a Brazilian. This guy is a legend ! 🔥 I heard about him in 2008++, but never see him play. Trust me this is the first time i watch him playing, full of regret didn't watch him earlier
I forgot how good this player was, he was a top finisher with some decent skills and speed, he can literally play for any big club easily.

3 1/2 minutes in and I can't believe what I'm seeing. This guy is fucking incredible. His finishing on both feet is unreal - I can't even tell which is his better foot. For me Zidane is the most skilled and talented Egyptian player I ever seen, he was just not spot on& was underrated, it's the media who can make an average player like a star and a top class player like an average one!!

I was from the last generation that was lucky to see him in his prime and these clips were rare at the time but we watched him with the national team. BRILLIANT. Sometimes I day dream that he would be 10 years late and have him in the national team with SALAH. I swear we could be in world Cup semifinals easily :(

Mohamed Zidan is the best no 9 I have ever seen , of course he is underrated, this guy conceive a goal each opportunity in or out the box , not many can do that.
Me and my brother used to pretend we were Moteab and Zidan playing in our school ground while growing up 😩. One of the best and deadliest striking duos in African football history. We are not even Egyptian but they were DAMN GOOD. Barakat, Aboutrika, Gomaa at the back, El-Mohammady in his prime, Hossam Hassan... and of course the legendary El Haddary in goal. Very underrated national team. Right up there with Spain 08-12, Brazil 1958-1970, Ferenc Puskas’ Mighty Magyars of Hungary, France 98-02, Cruyff’s Oranje’s Total Football team et cetera.
