its also because servers are also leaving 1.8 starting with skyblock, hypixel is slowly migrating to modern versions cause they provide more modding capabilities so in couple of years many minigames will have 1.9 pvp modded to play as 1.8

Its still fun. But not the same fun. Maybe back in 2019 and 2020 it was 100% fun and now its only 40% fun

as a bedwars creator, I tried making something new and different and it kind of popped off, but now I'm scared that if the quality isn't exactly as good as the one before, my next video will fail. I wish this youtube stuff was easier bro. Great video though

Btw I just checked your channel. Its intresting to see that you had a simiular video to mine 3 months ago. I barely see people talk about hypixel content problem.

The problem with any game is that it's going to have its popularity in the beginning, then people will try to get good at it. After this, people try to get better and better and it ends up as sweats fighting sweats. Any player just trying to have fun gets absolutely destroyed

@@red_Fody Yeah, now that I think about it it doesn't make that much sense except a lot of kids watch bedwars videos, and usually bedwars youtubers that target kids do bedwars challenge videos and stuff like that. A lot of people no longer upload bedwars content probably because it is hard to queue players that aren't that good and when they do they only have one chance. Sorry for the yapping but good video!

1.7-1.8 pvp will never die, its uniqueness is just a phenomenon, such combat will live forever, here is boring and non-unique 1.9+ will vanish just in the moment, when mojang will change the combat again - about 1.9 no one will remember. 1.7-1.8 is one of the most technical combat system in the entire existence of video games (almost on the same ladder as phenomena like GunZ: TheDuel). Do you know any pvp game where cps affects gameplay? (geometry dash doesn't count, it's not pvp). Do you know a single game with great skillgap that can be (and even sometimes needs to be!) played with high ping 100+? What ping is there to play cs with? 70 I heard it is already a lot, and with 100+ to play is already unrealistic. Good game, che. As opposed to minecraft 1.7-1.8, where there are basically 4 different big pvp themes 1)bridging(bedwars) 2)sword fighting (boxing) 3)fighting with rods (uhc kit) 4)bow combat Name me one analog of something like that.

I strongly agree that the combat system is the goat. but if it loses its content creators, it will lose its popularity.

I unfortunately cannot relate. I've actually been getting better at bedwars, and it's been quite fun! The specials game mode was awesome as well. I do enjoy bedwars, and I hope that doesn't change any time soon.

1.20 videos have much more views💀. The biggest recent view on 1.8 was around 100k while speed silver gets more views on long form

1.8 content is dead, but 1.8 pvp is surprisingly rising again

1.8 isn't dead; its player count has dropped, but as long as Hypixel exists, it won't die. Additionally, if everyone keeps saying 1.8 is dead, it won't attract new players to this version anymore because you're all saying it's dead.

1.8 is no where near dead and you prove it in this video alone. The graph you show as proof that it got less popular counts covid as an unimportant factor. Obviously the game will be more popular if you are locked in your house so a more accurate way is to look at pre-covid numbers. 1.8 is doing better now than ever and while not as many conent creators are making videos that doesnt mean the version is less popular. SMP content has been dominating the minecraft scene on youtube for a few years now so why would content creators not want more veiws if possible. Minecraft 1.8 is more popular than ever in a non lockdown situation and while youtubers aren't making videos that doesnt mean the version is dying or close to it.

Well. 3 months ago hypixel had 5k more players. Today it lost it. And ofcourse its not dying this soon. But when creators leave it, it will slowly start dying. Hopefuly I might not leave it

@@red_Fody This just isnt true. 3 months ago on december 16th it had 44,987 and today on feburary 16th the player count is higher at 46,443 players. On december 16th it was also a weekend, statstically hypixels highest player days during a week. Today is a Friday when the player counts rise but still dont hit their peak for the week. In 3 months the average player count has increased more than anything.
