WHY MILLENIALS CANT EXPECT GRANDPARENT BOOMERS TO RAISE THEIR KIDS FOR THEM

Thank you for watching. this is just my opinion and I wanted to explain to people who think grandparents who don't raise their grandchildren are selfish that actually sometimes there's a lot more to it.
I also explain I am not referring to grandparents being supportive or being interested in their grandkids I mean actually raising them for you full time.

I have two of my grandkids and this is not how I expected to be living out my golden years. I love them more than anything but wtf. Why do adult children continue to have children even after grandparents have had to take on the previous kids?!

Because NEVER Trickles Down Reaganomics has blown up the cost of everything EXCEPT wages this Includes the move to stop enforcing anti monopoly laws that allowed corporations to increase prices unnecessarily during the pandemic. Since the 1980’s every industry has gotten smaller meaning few choices for consumers. When you were raising kids the wage increases you got did not go into straight into the Stockmarket EVERY QUARTER through legalized stockbuybacks for the benefit of only the wealthy. Include increases taxes on workers and decreased taxes in corporations and the tax burden has been systematically moved into workers. Stealing from workers in the form of Wage theft, Stagnant wages, increased Payroll taxes, decreased(or NEGATIVE) corporate taxes and corporate subsidies just as a few methods of theft from everyone you know. The top 1% has stollen 50 Trillion dollars from workers over 50 years. That is equal to $1,100 STOLEN PER PERSON PER MONTH FOR LIFE!!!

Not a fan of the boomers but it's not fair for parents to expect or demand this. The boomers had their time to be parents. It's over and done with. Most elderly people can't keep up with small children.

This is something previous generations have managed for thousands of years. Social mobility has changed that but it doesn't add up - now both parents have to work and they also have to look after the children entirely themselves? Doesn't add up. Boomers are also one of the most wealthy generations in human history. If they don't want to help with raising their own grandchildren then they can get fucked.

I agree. But my mum's not even involved. I think she took my son to a cafe once for an hour. And once she took him to the library. I got one hour of rest and I had to say thank you like a begging.

I need to beg ...beg for help from my mum. I felt so guilty asking for anything. She's so uninvolved that Christmas or birthday presents are always for a kid a year younger, or 6 months younger. This Christmas i bought something and said it was from her. I wonder if my father were alive shed be more involved. Im only havibg the one kid. This is her only grand kid.

If they're YOUR kids then they are YOUR responsibility. Expecting anyone else to raise the kids you chose to have is entitled behaviour.

American boomers are incredibly wealthy. We have to pay a lot of taxes to support them, they get retirement payments, and they get free healthcare, and they were able to buy houses when real estate was cheap. They are so spoiled and lazy. So now we are struggling, housing is much more expensive, we have to pay for health insurance which is crazy expensive. It's so much harder for us. If a mom has to go to work and the grandmotheres are sitting around watching TV and can't be bothered to help and say just send the kids to daycare, even though that's incredibly expensive, it's just because they're selfish. No one expects someone who has to work in old age to quit their job to watch grandkids for free. I don't think Europeans really understand how wealthy Americans are, especially boomers.

Both parents have to work now, just to tread water, often they reach out for a date, so they can go to a place to eat, and enjoy their marriage. When grandparents refuse to help, make things difficult, people don't get any time to be husband and wife! Time is so precious! And between two jobs and children how do they have any time for themselves? It's selfish in a way especially if they aren't fully employed, if they need to work constantly as well that's more understandable obviously. It's hard enough to work jobs, 2 jobs apiece sometimes, raise kids, and manage everything?! Why is it selfish if they aren't busy? Why do they constantly have to be BUSY BUSY BUSY!? WHY CANT THEY JUST MAKE SOME TIME??? WHY is it awful to want to take my wife on a romantic date once in a while?? She needs to feel special! And it keeps the marriage alive and healthy. It's really a small price! Just watch the kiddos for the afternoon, 12-6 or even ,5. They got more time for their DOGS. They go on vacations 3-4 times a YEAR.
