I recall a concert that I went to late 80's to see - Heavy D- this was at Oak Coliseum where they did concerts- The gangstas came out of no where and just started to beat on the people attending the concert- This is when Mc Hammer came out and had his entourage calm the violence that the gangstas was doing that evening at the concert- "One young man was shot and injured and several dozen others sustained minor injuries during a melee at a rap concert at the Oakland Coliseum Arena Friday night. The show featured Cool Moe Dee, MC Hammer, the Boys and Heavy D. Blamed with starting the trouble were about 50 fans who were dressed entirely in black, and thought to be members of the Funktown Oakland street gang. Witnesses said the fighting broke out when Heavy D refused to go on stage unless the house lights were turned out. During the delay, the 50 or so reputed gang members reportedly began picking fights at random in the audience, and Henry Fields, 19, was shot several times in the abdomen and trunk. He was hospitalized in stable condition. The people injured were caught in a stampede as panicked concert-goers tried to flee the arena. There were unconfirmed reports of a second shooting victim. Of the 14,000 ticket-holders, only about 4,000 remained in the arena when the headliner Dee appeared, long after order had been restored" October of 1989

Well, one of his albums was called “Hammer Don’t Hurt Em” I’m from LA, and I’ve even heard stories about Hammer. you could get touched, and he’ll be nowhere around, he had at least 100 goonies on his payroll. He gave a lotta ppl jobs. But if u disrespected him, it was definitely hammer time-no rap. And let’s not forget, dude could MOVE. I’ve yet to see anyone imitate his dancing even convincingly close. Chris brown can’t even fk wit it.

HAMMER AND EASY were VERY GOOD FRIENDS 💯💯
You got people talking about him who don't even know where he's from. The female saying he's original from Virginia is completely wrong. He was born in Oakland California in 1962.

I meant him at an arcade in a casino. I was working at the arcade. We talked for like an hour. It was after his bankrupcty. His wife liked to gamble. He would hang out with his kids at the arcade waiting for him. Was really nice chat. He even gave me an autograph.
'Should we go with E-Zy or Suge Knight or Hammer...let's go with Hammer' 'But Hammer was the most gansta of them all'...says the guy in the video...wow.

Love my man Hammer. I spent about 2 hours with him once just talking about life way back in 1996. He and my lil bro Stevevicious (aka VMF) performed his hit Sultry Funk together. He was at the time trying to get us with him on Death Row Records… I can personally tell you he ain’t nothing to play with in them streets.
Hammer putting a hit out on Serch was crazy too.

HAMMER WAS MORE REAL THAN HIS PEERS. They all hated and turned around and did the same thing 🤣😂🤣 Hammer was my childhood hero. And I thank him to this day for his positive impact on me and millions of kids like me back then. I’m glad he didn’t jump On the bandwagon and gave us what he did in those times. Much love HAMMER. God will and has rewarded him for caring for the children.
I know one thing that. could dance dance dance. They put Him in the mix

Brilliant question lol 😆
Well, one of his albums was called “Hammer Don’t Hurt Em” I’m from LA, and I’ve even heard stories about Hammer. you could get touched, and he’ll be nowhere around, he had at least 100 goonies on his payroll. He gave a lotta ppl jobs. But if u disrespected him, it was definitely hammer time-no rap. And let’s not forget, dude could MOVE. I’ve yet to see anyone imitate his dancing even convincingly close. Chris brown can’t even fk wit it.
Aries spears has been telling the truth for decades hes like i been saying what katt said since 2000
hammer the only rapper i kno who had i a stage full convicts
Mc Hammer was the man I still do his dances. Love him
Never judge a book by its cover.
Hammer, don't hurt them!
That back in the days music still hits hard today, like that " set it off hit the extended version,...
That was them High st Bank boys
Sorry I don’t believe dude when he said Hammer had a $50k hit on him. He’d be history if that was the case!! Crips ain’t playing with that ish.

I went to the same church as him in Fremont CA. He was just like anyone else there that day.
So Diddy tryin be like hammer
My family in. Ali corona was telling me in the late 80s/early 90s he was one of the biggest gangsters to come out of Oakland.
He is from Oakland and lets keep it a buck no one wanted issues with Oakland period that is East and West but Hammer was never respected in the rap game he could not rap he was an a entertainer period! When listen to Hammer you were not going to say "bars" lets be real.
I guess when he was singing “U can’t touch this” he meant that ish!
i thought hammer was a preacher

I was working at Camino camper in Hayward California, i didn't know who he really was but I recognized the red BMW,i asked him isn't that MC Hammer car lol, he responded i am MC Hammer. That same day he purchased a motor home the limited addition paid over a $1,000,000 and I also remember living in the same apartment complex where two of his dancers swoop and No- bones. Man i use to party with those guys and hammer always came through at the pathfinder village apartments,l got to know hammer real good a true real nigga Fremont CA days.💯👍🏾
Hammer went bankrupt paying for his entiurage aka shooters he did go everywhere with a hundred people on payroll
MC HAMMER was the Bat Boy for The Oakland A'S......Remember the Oakland A'S of the 1970's (72-74)Champions.....MC HAMMER was the bat boy for those teams
Why is this evening news, MC Hammer hasn't touched a nail in years
SO glad I get along W/MC Hammer & have been a fan of his for decades since we follow each other on X 💪I've been making music since high school, I was inspired to start when my late Father flew me out to Seattle & 1 of his buddies new Ed Locke of Nastymix Records. I used to go by the previous recording name Grey Angel Conspiracy MANY years ago & found 2 of my songs on Y.T. SO very thankful 4 all that's happened & being able to share my work W/the world.
Yeah Mc Hammer is gangsta. But Sir Mix-A-Lot even more gangsta and so is Ice T.
