Tom Hardy was doing a good job, but Sony is terrible at this. They never understood Venom or carnage, or spiderman for that matter. The point of Venom is imagine spiderman with the brakes off. But that only works in relation to Spidey after being a good guy for years. Thats the least of their misunderstanding.

The First Venom Film, In My Opinion Was Really Good, But Carnage In Venom 2 Wasn't Nearly As Aggressive/Intimidating As He Should Have Been,....I Was Hopeful, But,....Unfortuanately, It Simply Didn't Work,...Hardy's Venom Is Excellent, But Why They Thought A Comedy Rated PG-13,....It's Bizarre,....

This just illustrates the problem they have universe building at Sony. Morbious never really felt like he was needed when the movie ended, and Madame Web just treated every character except her like they didn't deserve screen time. The villain (can't remember his name) just kept telling everyone how hard his life was over and over again with no actual context, and the spider-women got a couple of future shots that were all flash and no substance and brief moments about how they were alone in the world that could have turned into something, but were only really used to make them relatable to Madame Web so she would actually give a damn if the guy killed them. I'm pretty sure the only reason they've ever made a halfway decent Spiderman/Venom movie is because the world knows enough about Spiderman/Venom and their major antagonists that we don't need them to fill in the blanks cause we're already doing it for them with our past knowledge.

Sony WASTED Carnage with the BEST actor for the job. They had everything lined up for them and they literally did everything wrong, from the title (LTB Carnage?? WTF is that?) to the Carnage character being nerfed and PG-ified and removing the character from future movies. Sony has worked their ass off to F this up and they deserve their failure. Not that the overpaid talentless professional lunch Havers will see any consequences for their screw ups but in fact at best still get bonuses and fail up, at worst multi million $ golden parachute for their failure and move on to lead and ruin other companies.

After what they did to Carnage, the writing was on the wall.

I think it's a good move they made lord and Miller in charge because they take time to develop a solid scripts when making movies. I think in general, focus more on Spiderman and slowly integrating those Spiderman related characters, within these Spiderman movies.

I enjoy hardy's representation of the character. but I was also good with Topher Grace's version (although the movie was pretty awful). at least spider-man 3 properly set-up the relationship between the symbiote, Peter Parker, and Eddie Brock. they're kinda necessary. this whole idea of a spider-verse without spider-man is comical in its ineptitude. 😆

The venom movies were a guilty pleasure for me. Venom is my favorite character, and though I didn’t mind the direction they went to do venom without spiderman, they just dropped the ball on many other things that could’ve made it exciting. Still much better than Eric foreman’s Venom.

I guess I wouldn’t be mad seeing Venom in Secret Wars, just no Morbin time and full Feige control.

Venom was decent, but honestly could’ve easily been an A tier series. Literally all they would’ve had to do was make it rated R and let loose with the violence. Carnage should’ve been a blood bath. That’s why it was so disappointing for me. There’s some weaknesses in the story but the violence was seriously lacking

The reason animation in general can be better then live action is time. Since more time is required to make them more care in generally taking into the story telly. But live action can be pushed out faster because of that its onecof the biggest corners cut is time for story telling.

The problem with Sony is that they're focusing on everyone BUT Spider-Man. Venom's and Carnage portrayal was terrible. We didn't need a Madame Web movie. We didnt need a Morbius movie. We definitely don't need a Kraven movie where he's some kind of anti-hero or any of the other side-characters from the SM universe. Honestly, I'm hoping Kraven and Venom 3 tank just as bad as the previous movies so Sony has to either give up SM or work something out with Marvel where they have more say so.

Well…at least they put out great material over the years. Spidey 1 and 2 are legendary and so is the Spiderverse

Remember how Flash Gordon was such a great film? No one decided to remake it and make spin offs to kill it. They probably need to do the same thing with Spiderman once the secret wars is finished.

i believe this is the right move for sony to have made. focus on what really works and forget things that turn into disasters like morbius and madame web. into the spider-verse, across and the 3 tom holland spider-man movies have been working out great,stick with that and go from there. maybe bring a live action version of black cat into tom holland's spider-man 4 movie instead of doing a stand alone film for her. make things better but, don't over do it like the mcu has done to itself. take the time and slow it down one or two movies at a time. #NUFFSAID

Just watched Madame Web last night. Holy cow. It makes Morbius look like a masterpiece.

No one in this professional and seasoned company thought having a person or a team controlling all the movies would be basic rule number 1? If you want a bunch of movies related to each other or establish a Universe, how does that not compute? It astounds me billions of dollars are put down without a a huge written out proposal of the big picture not being established.

From Sony I'm only interested in the spider-verse animated films. And the noir amazon series. Who knows.... maybe we'll see venom as a priest in Spider-Man noir series. I'm glad silk was canceled

As a massive fan of 90's comics that are still edgy enough to shave with, good. There hasn't been one good Venom on screen and that version of Carnage was damn shameful too. Woody Harrelson made a pretty good Cletus (obviously, dude does unhinged serial killer extremely well), but that was a piss poor excuse for a shape-shifting, bloodthirsty avatar of evisceration. I'm just glad they never got to fuck up Toxin or Hybrid. And you know they would've.

I still wish The Amazing Spider-Man 3 could happen.

The cool thing about how the MCU is set up is that they can still take any of these characters down the road and use them.

Cutting your losses is smart business. That being said, i always thought Kraven was Spider-Man's fiercest and toughest enemy, as far as his "regulars" go. I found myself a little hyped after watching the Kraven trailer, too. By contrast, i didn't a single bit of hype watching the Morbius and Madame Web trailers. Sony hopefully learned what Marvel is currently learning: the more obscure/less popular a character is, the less interest that will be generated. This only applies to franchises or entities that already have HUGE followings. It would be like Star Wars making a Greedo movie.

Tom Hardy will still be venom. They just aren't going to make any more venom movies. This is the last year for those.

Good the Sony spiderman universe was already pretty much dead in the water since morbius hit hard.

Sony should give ALL their Marvel character rights back to Marvel or at least give Marvel the opportunity to buy them back. I'll miss Tom Hardy as Venom - I think Tom - as well as directors Ruben Fleischer & Andy Serkis of course - did a good job with those movies considering the relatively restricted budgets.

Madam Web was so bad they are panicking. Movie studios lack any vision. The sad thing is Madam Web could have been cool, but it really should have been teased and introduced before a solo movie. Only hardcore comic fans would even understand that story, and those do not represent enough people to make box office gold. They needed to develop the characters in other films first so the average fan had a f**k to give for a solo movie. Sony as a movie studio has proven it is incompetent. I hate to say it but Disney/Marvel should cut ties (even though that means saying bye to Tom Holland's Spider-Man.

Dude, I tried really REALLY hard to watch Madame-Web and I just couldn't sit through it!! I dont understand why Sony thinks it's so damn easy to make good movies just because [Enter reason here] because they do need a Kevin Feige figure, but Sony will never give me the chance. I could do that job and it would work!! That's a fact!!! How do I apply for the job??????

$10m of Spider-Man: No Way Home's cost was trying to trick fans into thinking Andrew Garfield wasn't in it.

I'm kinda glad about this. I've enjoyed the venom movies more than I thought I would but I never liked the idea without spider-man. Plus I find that they have made the character a bit too funny when I'd of liked more serious. I was really disappointed with Let There Be Carnage. If sony wont sell to Marvel then they at least need to just let marvel be in charge, take control and they can just sit back and take a good cut of the profits. Let's not forget we still got Kraven incoming... Looms good but he should of had the accent. I'm kinds hoping it'll fail too because then maybe sony will finally understand that they need to do the right thing and hand it over.

I like the idea of them bringing in their own Spiderman, and restarting with the spider verse leadership. They can use an animated spider verse Spiderman and tell another story. But they need to put that off until spider verse pt2 is done to prevent distraction and burnout. Unfortunately that might risk their >6 year time limit, making the time frames really tight to get done.

Spider-Man and Venom should go back to Marvel if Sony can't figure out what to do with them. Spider-Verse was the only thing Sony did right without the MCU in my opinion

The amount of movies canceled anymore is gonna kill the industry

I am actually really sad to hear that they cancelled Silk, I was really looking forward to it.
