It's not only about Government, when the people of Maldives don't want us in their land, it makes no sense to do business with them. Rather stay safe and make sensible decision. Relationship with China/ Pakistan is different when compared to Srilanka, Nepal, Maldives as we are providing Aid to these nations.

Bangladesh is doing the same thing bro. We liberated Bangladesh in the year 1971, and it's India that has done so many investments and infra projects there including rail networks, airports, shipyards, harbours, etc. There are certain river disputes and immigration disputes between the 2 nations but mostly these nations practiced closed ties until recent times. Public hatred towards India had never risen to such an extent ever in the past. Same about Nepal and Sri Lanka. So it's a political campaign for votes and counter arguments. Diplomatic relations between 2 countries are formed on the basis of need not what the public wants. So both these parties understand the importance of India for Maldives so we must ignore these protests. It's just a political game that doesn't concern us.

@nayanthidesilva8660 It's not that India doesn't respects it's neighbors, but sometimes the foreign policies lack the ground to get the neighbors in confidence. Coz of you see it was always India who came as a rescue team when some of the neighboring countries were in trouble, weather it's Bangladesh, Maldives or even Srilanka.

It's not about hatred towards India.Their Governments are spreading Islamic Mindset in the minds of people's with wrong information about Indian Culture.
