    Luka is a bonafide hooper. Never have to worry about his love for the game like some of our American players. Sometimes you gotta protect a hooper from himself. All they know is hoop!

    This Slovenian team was bound to go nowhere. Players don't play for their teams.. Sekulič was never really "good".. 4 years ago we were good cause of euro 2017 spirits were still high. 2 years ago (at eurobasket) we were unable to reach full potential. And this year, we straight off sucked. The entire coaching staff needs to go. We played terrible against Croatia, badly against New zeland (even if we won) and today, Greece confirmed how bad it really is. So it's really best for everyone.. loosing as early as possible.

    Luka plays at a slower pace but still needs to be able to accelerate for a few steps on his drives to put the defender on his hip. If you were watching the Mavericks for most games, you can see the difference in how Luka was playing. He played even slower and did not drive very much toward the end of the regular season and even less scoring out bursts as the playoffs proceeded. Luka will win several championships, but he must learn to guard his health and learn to score the 35 points in under 35 minutes per game. Fortunately, the Mavericks are going to a deeper team this year.

    Nick laying out the whole Luka storyline during last year makes me realize even more how absolutely hectic and crazy it was. Now, what it seems for the first time in his whole career Luka is finally able to get some rest and work on himself, his family and his game in a chill manner for these next few months. Good job Nick :D

    Dallas should pick up Poku for a year and see if he has anything he can give us on BOTH ENDS. He gives you everything as a seven footer. Three point shooting (16-44 36% last year), passing and rebounding (actually had a triple double as a 21 yr old), points per shot (1.28 last year with charlotte), blocks AND STEALS (had 2 blocks or steals in a game last year FIVE TIMES in very limited minutes) and he’s young and cheap. He went one pick in front of Josh green and perhaps he was the guy we should have ended up with. There’s a certain passive nature to his game you would need to beat out of him (mama’s boy) but in his “revenge game” vs OKC he had 14 points and nine rebounds in 21 minutes in a three point loss. That’s a lot of production for the 15th guy on your roster. He might still be 2-3 years away but I’d wear him out between our bench and Legend’s games until he finds his confidence in his shot. Because once that thing starts going in he will skyrocket in value. This is a guy Luka could take under his wing. This team needed a spark off the bench vs. Boston which sure as s*** ain’t coming from Morris.

    I don’t buy Luka’s injuries like that. I’m not saying that he isn’t hurt but how do you explain him playing extremely well one day in the playoffs then horrible the next? I believe the injury narrative is to assist in lack of defensive effort and him arguing with refs.

    So you believe he just didn't want to win? Weird that your first instinct goes there. His main injury was sprain knee that kept swelling and couldn't heal properly because he kept playing on it. His 3pt% miraculously became good at some point, until the finals. With some medical knowledge you can guess he got a cortisone shot (stops inflamation, lasts a few weeks, can't repeat shots) . No idea if it was still effective in the finals, maybe he played bad there because they were severly outmatched as a team. him and kyrie were visibly exhausted. Players don't just recuperate with a good night sleep, it's a season long marathon.

  • @sportfanatic5339

    @sportfanatic5339

    @@ouicertes9764 yeah but that doesn’t explain the inconsistencies of the good games and bad games. Moreover, as someone that played basketball, you don’t keep shooting 3’s if your ankle and knee is hurt. Why? Because of the effort it takes to shoot from so far. That’s why a lot of NBA players raised questions regarding the knee and ankle issue. Next, if he’s not feeling the pain because of an injection, that means his shots should fall. I understand what you’re saying but a lot of NBA analysts and players said this. It was just something weird to observe. Lastly, Luka is a winner. Point blank, he does struggle defensively but I don’t think anyone is going to question his competitiveness, offensively at least 😂

    Trade idea for Mavs. They send Kyrie to Lakers for their 29 and 31 first round picks and 28 or 30 pick swab (all three should be very valuable as the Lakers will suck in a few years). Send those picks plus the Mavs 2025 and 2031 picks to Utah, along with Maxi and one or two of their young guys (Grimes, Hardy, O-Max, etc) to the Jazz for Markennan. The Mavs have too many wings anyway that they won't be able to play. Lauri is 7 foot tall, shoots 40% from 3 on 8 shots per game and high efficieny on 2 pointers as he is able to get inside (8 shots per game there too). His timeline matches with Luka's. He is 7 ft tall comapred to Kyrie 6'1 and 32 years old. Explosive guards like Kyrie don't do well getting into their mid-30s. Lakers send Russell to Mavs as their backup guard, and see if you can pry Reeves out of them too. Salaries will work out, Mavs get a decent backup guard for 1 year till they figure out another for the following year. Or send Russell to Utah for Sexton.

    @@jecapeca when are his stans going to accept he is "king of the 4rth" and passive the rest of the game because his body can't handle 100% play for multiple quarters? He was visibly tired and thinner in the finals, his age must be taken into account if you are serious about winning and managing his playing time. He already has trouble getting past bigger guys, and the young talent in the league is getting bigger and bigger. No amount of past aura can't hide those facts, and Kyrie himself knows that, his fans must catch up and stop expecting him to be who he's not anymore.
