    It's not just him getting older. It's him learning. He spent many, many centuries pouring over everything the TVA, and Kang, ever knew about time. He memorized it all. That's why when Kang taunted him about not knowing how to stop time and used a device to freeze Sylvie, Loki did the same with just a wave of his hand. He didn't JUST learn how to fix the device, he learned how to do what the device did without the device. He learned how to do it all manually. That's not just something that would have happened if he laid around for a few millennia, he worked and studied.

    Yes, but the power to hold the entire multiverse's timelines came to him when he was exposed to temporal radiation. That made him (an asgadian not by born, but by being bestowed the odinforce by odin himself) age infinitly, making him infinitly powerfull per asgardian nature (the older they get, the stronger they become). Being only able to not die from this, because of his mastery over time that he adquired trought the series and the knowledge from those centuries studying.

    I just think it’s a great way to keep Tom in the MCU for another ten years. Asgardians aren’t supposed to age, but they just aged him up from 20’s ish to 40’s ish, so he could keep playing Loki for years if they’d let him which they should. He’s been an A+ character since his first appearance.

    I heard a theory that says Loki's Asgardian magic and traits was given by Odin when he was adopted and since magic doesn't work in the TVA, he was stripped of that said Asgardian magic, so he is only left with his frost giant identity (which I assume does age) at this point. Frost giants can't die unless they are killed, so that's how Loki was able to walk through to the throne. I love the idea of Tom being included again anyway and what you said makes sense. Loki has always been one of my favorite characters alongside Scarlet Witch and Spiderman so I would really LOVE to see him again .

While this version learned about how wrong things had been just after his first encounter with the avengers.

Because he can now control time he can take an infinite amount of it to collect them all. When we see Loki at the end on his golden throne he is INFINITELY old. His age effectively scales beyond measure. Millions of years when compared to infinity reduces to nothing. That is just how incomprehensibly powerful he now is, a being without equal.

    Loki is canonically a Frost Giant, and acording to nordic lore (and I think somewhere in marvel canon?) Frost Giants can only be killed in an act of battle/combat. Therefore temporal radiation would just age loki rapidly (as mentioned). Thor also mentions at one point that asgardians only get stronger with time, so this theory fits pretty well

    MCU is quite different from the nordic lore. Frost Giants in MCU do age, and, probably, can die of extremely old age. He made him, essentially, exist outside time and control his own timeline.

    It isn't just power and knowledge he has now. There is also conviction. He has always been burdened with glorious purpose, destined to rule. You see him transform over the last few episodes. He desperately banged his head against a temporal wall till the bs leaked out. When he finally walks out onto that walkway it's "come hell or high water". No confusion, or hesitation. His will against the multiverse. There is a great power in that level of conviction, when decisions have all been made, all that is left is to take action. Gave me chills. This show has completely redeemed Loki in my eyes, Can't wait to see him join the avengers LOL.

    I like this theory, but I actually interpret it differently. almost exactly the opposite really. The first time we see the time loom and the suit OB talks about the danger of wearing the suit on the platform too long because the radiation will age the suit out of existence. Loki created his own ability to withstand the radiation by time slipping over and over thus aging his time aura to a near infinite level. He essentially made himself actually immortal by looping his existence long enough to withstand the test of time.

    I think that the time loop doesnt help Loki age, I mean he is going back in time constantly after all, plus TVA is outside of time even before, so he wouldnt age at all, but I do agree with the part where raw temporal radiation is why his exponential grew in power came from with his Asgardian body, this also explains why he doesnt tranform back into a Frost giant since Magic was nullified in the TVA since his biology is pretty fixed and in his nature

  • @MagnumForce51

    Agreed. His time slipping had two modes to it. At first he was going from one point to another and at one point it was evident he was existing separately from the version of him in the moment of time he slipped to.. In this instance had he continued doing it the first way he would age. But after the extraction and after he gained control of it the next time he slips he seems to "replace" the current instance of him in that point in time instead of showing up as a separate being. It's possible his body is resetting to match his age at that time he moved to and it's really only his mind going to these points so he doesn't really age from the time slipping he does post extraction and might also be why the process seems less painful as a result. At least the version of time slipping he does once he masters control of it.

    Ok sorry but no. 1. Loki is biologically not Asgardian. Despite Freys magic making him look that way, we have no idea what aspects of frost giants biology are similar to Asgardians. So we can not say that he’ll age the same way. 2. Loki was not aging. He was literally sliding throughout different parts of his own Time Line. So each time he traveled he would have been whatever age he was in that moment. 3. He is essentially immune to temporal radiation (which would include time ) as he walked towards the loom. So like HHR, he would not age.

  • @MagnumForce51

    @MagnumForce51

    You are partially correct on the time slipping.. Had he continued the method of time slipping he was doing near the start where he was apparently showing up as an extra entity and not replacing the existing version of him, then he would have aged. But it's not clear if he would have survived this version of it had it continued for very long. It seemed to change post "extraction" and especially after he gained proper control of it. But you are right in that after he gained proper control of it he was only replacing himself in all the points of time he slipped to so he was likely only mentally aging and not physically aging. But it's not clear if he was choosing to do this or not because those points of time happen to be points where he physically existed or if this was a limitation of his new ability. If not a limitation there could be instances not shown to the audience where he did time slip to a point in time he was not originally in and in those instances he might physically age. If he's capable of doing both, then it likely means he is physically replacing the version of him self at all points he slips to regardless if there's a version of him there or not so he would physically age. But this only a possible outcome if it's true that he can slip to locations he was not originally present at. But I suppose you'd have to ask the writers on this if he was doing any off screen time slippage that operated in that way because obviously they can't possibly show us hundreds of years of him time slipping over and over in his attempts to fix the loom. :P

  • @joshuacollins9316

    @joshuacollins9316

    5 ай бұрын

    @@MagnumForce51 1. You pretty much said I was fully correct lol I don’t see where you’re disagreeing about the original time slipping. Him being a separate entity but then after gaining control being whatever age he was in the moment he slips to. 2. If they’re going off the comics it’s likely he has somewhat of a complete control and manipulation of time similar to Kang. Based off what we see he’s unaffected by temporal radiation. Whatever directly caused this , (Loki going through hangs temp pad that he most likely programmed ahead of time), made it so that he is essentially similar to Kang in his control of time . Which he could need to be in order to replace him like Kang set up as an option. Which would mean he would need to be Immortal at the end of time as well. So most likely in Kang Dynasty/Secret Wars Loki will use his full mastery of the time lines to go whenever he wants and recruit diff avengers from diff universes to form a team.

Loki is now the most powerful being in the universe, so they'll probably end up nurfing some of his power in some really stupid way, creating even more plot holes. if they keep him out of things because he has to stay where he is for some reason, then that might potentially at least make sense, if he has to remain close to maintain the multiversal time lines.

But as he started aging Thor, Thor said simply "Asgardians grow stronger as they age" slightly paraphrased. Loki, being Asgardian by heart and growth, would grow incredibly powerful from all those years passed.

Freezing it is just like we holding our phone and turning off our aircon with an app. Now here comes Loki who learns everything now that he has mastered timeslip, he basically turns on his aircon and TVs with magic now.

    People gotta remember asgardian magic is also science. By learning the science of the TVA he didn't have to just magic up the potential of the time lines but just the weave instead while letting the mechanics of the timeline management exist as the TVA knows it. Which is why their systems are capable of interfacing with the timelines in the first place.

Loki didn't become the god of stories but has taken the place of an even more obscure character known as atlez, custodian of the multiverse who appear in only a single comic. atlez was literally a cosmic being that's entire existence was to anchor the multiverse to prevent it from slipping into oblivion.

    I don't think MCU Loki is a Frost Giant... at least not all Frost Giant. Hela tells Thor "Odin and I drowned entire civilizations in blood and tears. Where do you think all this gold came from? And then one day he decided to become a benevolent king. To foster peace, to protect life. To have you." Hela knew about Thor and that he was taking her place. I think at that point Hela chose to make an alliance to try to take the throne by force. In royal politics, such an alliance is normally sealed by marriage or more precisely an heir. We've never been told who Loki's bio-mother was, why he so small for a Frost Giant, he looks so much like Hela, they even wear the same color scheme and both dual wield bladed weapons... I think Odin was fighting the Frost Giants at that time because of Hela's alliance with them. When he had won he found Loki and didn't have the heart to kill/leave his grandson to die or want to risk someone of his potential being raised an enemy. So he used his magic to bring Loki's Asgardian side to the surface and adopted him as his own.

    Loki is a Frost Giant, and we don't know what happens when Frost Giant's age. Whether or not the writers of this episode forgot that, back in Thor 1 we saw some Frost Giants grown to enormous size, suggesting that they too grow more powerful with age. This would make sense as they seemed to be rivals for the Asgardians, that they were somehow on the same level, even if the Asgardians eventually won out. I still think he should have turned into a Blue Giant, but he wasn't gaining power for being Asgardian but for his true heritage. On the other hand, we also saw Old Loki was the most powerful of his variants in the use of magic. This suggests that he would also become the most powerful sorcerer of all time to match the ravaging effects of Temporal Radiation.

    Just don't forget the other reason for Lokis power and growth. Loki, like thor accepted his true name/title. Like how thor when the hammer was shattered, Odin reminded him it was not the hammer, but rather him. He rened his mantle as god of thunder. Like so, Lokis old title was god of lies, but what is a lie? It is a story told. The live series follows the agent of asgard lark in some ways where it happened as well. If anything, they weakened Loki for the mcu. But he not only has aged but also has taken his true title. He is a reality warping asgardian presently. I imagine we will see some of that soon

He's literally capable of making time warping illusions. He could make you live a thousand years in a second. He could basically warp reality beyond understanding. For those saying “Loki isn’t Asgardian…” Remember that in the TVA, where magic doesn’t work, Odin’s magic was strong enough to keep Loki an Asgardian, not a Frost Giant. Even when Loki went to Jötunheim, the All Father’s strength kept him looking like an Asgardian (for the most part). I think the “give or take 5,000 years” remark to Thor was about regular Asgardians, but in the royal family life is much longer. In the comics, one version of Thor lives millions of years and one version of Odin is a million years old in our present day. His mother, who taught him magic, was a queen of Vanaheim and he probably benefits uniquely from being a son of 3 realms.
