I'm surprised you didn't mention that the 2002 anime also kind of combined Ayu's and Nayuki's route. As Nayuki actually watches Ayu kiss Yuuichi and that starts her awkwardness around Yuuichi. Then in the final episode, both the arcs are completed as Nayuki steals a kiss from Yuuichi, and tells him to go to Ayu, who she saw was in the hospital. It might not have done it as well as 2006, but I think they did a pretty good job as well.

Awesome video and going to the extent about talking about every arc in the 2006 Kanon anime. I saw this when I was a teen so I don't recall most of what happened, but all I do remember is loving the experience of watching it.

Ferbus does conquer, Shiori is precious !!!!!!!! On that section of her arc, I always liked it because of how short it was. Mai and Makoto seemed to drag on while Shioris situation is much shorter, with nothing for Yuichi to fight against. Plus at this point you already had a lot of set up for the arc throughout his interactions earlier in the show! 02 may be something to check out, as mentioned, it really does explore the Shiori and Kaori interactions that arent really shown in the anime until episode 18. This was another great video Leeson! I can't wait to see how you go through Clannad!

Thank you so much, Ferbus I reckon Clannad's will be a good one from the looks of things! Feel free to hit me up on Disc btw, I'm always open to takes, adjustments and criticisms to thumbnail making and script writing, so if you're interested, you always can hop on and feel free to critique stuff.

I'm glad to have watched your video, as I believe that Kanon (2006) was one of the better animes that I've seen, and I've been watching anime for many decades. It's a more interesting story than most give it credit for. Ayu's story in particular is one of a Ikiryō (living ghost) a Japanese legend, not too different from the fox/Makoto situation. There was also a very good "One Step Beyond" episode with a story of a man who had been in a coma, but appeared thousands of miles away. Astral Projection is an interesting topic and may explain Ayu's story, as her dreams had materialized. The one thing I wanted to see more of is how Aunt Akiko knew about Ayu being in a coma, yet she interacted with her? That scene where Yuuichi explains to Akiko that he finally remembered what happened to Ayu, and that she died, and she corrects him. (that scene choked me up!). I reckon if you had the VN more would be revealed and more would make sense. The wholesome story and happy ending made me watch this a few times, and the second watch was the best - it's a 9.0 for me.

I'm really glad you enjoyed what was here, and I do wish to read the VN some time soon so I can get more out of it!

while it's no where NEAR as clear as it is with the other heroines i think makoto did come back to life in the end (at least in the anime. i have no clue about the visual novel) during one of the final shots of the anime in the background you see a little fox running by it just feels too purposeful to not be a reference to her after everyone else had a happy ending also makoto did not become human before the anime you see the moment she recognized yuiichi as a fox they hold on a shot of a fox for a few seconds staring at yuichii in like episode 1 i think it was (i have not watched the anime in years something i'll try and fix at some point)
