When injuries forced a Kwambala start I was actually quite excited to see what he’s all about. Big game to start, big performance to finish. Definitely could be a part of this amazing youth coming through.

One of the best things about him is that he absolutely loves United. He will leave it all out on the field for the club. And he’s still developing those skills. He’s going to be a big part of this club in the future.

I really live to see a day where Lisandro and Willy start together. Kambwala is our answer to the long term replacement of Varane. I wish to keep Rafa as a mentor and obviously our starting CB, who frequently rotates with Willy. To drop a performance like that against the best team in the League is a massive statement indeed, he is a massive talent.

@@andrewallace5000I like varane as a player but that’s a very good point. Going from defenders like vidic, Rio, smalling, Evans and even phil jones(he would put his head anywhere to try and defend the goal) to a guy that doesn’t want to header the ball is crazy.

We had this kind of excitment over promising young CBs before. Fosu-Mensa, then Tuanzebe, even Mengi. It's time we protect players like Kambwala. Give him guidance and room to grow. And most importantly, keep him away from injuries.

I completely agree! He probably starts the next couple of matches due to injuries to other players But it will be important to protect him Interested to see if we could pursue some sort of loan move in the summer

with Maguire, Evans and potentially varane going out and the need for more athletic pacey CBs. Kambwala fits the mould. We are left with just martinez, kambwala and lindelof. Lindelof should go too due to lack of quality. We need to bring in 2 additional CBs my idea would be Todibo as main target for 40Ms and Adarabiyo on a free. Then we have 4 very good and competant defenders with good rotation options. Martinez versatily could also be used further at Lb tucking into form potentially ta back 3 in posssesion alongside two more physical athletic central defenders. Dalot can then invert or play high and wide. Todibo - Adarabiyo-Martinez Kambwala-Todibo-Martinez Kambwala-Adarabiyo-Todibo (For most defensive solidity) All quality back 3s

Bringing in someone like branthwaite into that convo also to be able to cover at left side also would be amazing, having kambwala and adarabioyo as the 5th or 4th choice and having todibo and martinez with branthwaite behind would be amazing for us

People forget he pocketed Jared Bowen also had too swap sides too get away from him

I dont like to have youngsters on the bench, I would much rather sign Fulhams Tosin Adarabioyo in the summer and use him as a stop gap at RCB while loaning out Kambwala for 1-2 seasons to something like the french league like Arsenal did with Saliba, and then assess the situation. Instead, this summer sign Tosin (free) and a LCB as a backup to Licha. Let 1-2 of Varane/Lindelof/Evans/Maguire stay for a year. Need to be smart this summer since we have so much that needs to be done (backup striker, winger, 2-3 midfielders, 2 centerbacks, 1-2 fullbacks) + financial fair play.

Kambwala's booking was because his foot was raised, even though he got the ball cleanly, the Liverpool player fell over his leg. Even though the Liverpool player did not roll around but got up quickly the ref rushed his decision that it was bookable. Unfortunaly, this was how Liverpool got their penalty so the dnager is that opponents look to change their direction to deliberately fall over a leg.

I disagree with your AWB sliding comment, man has slide tackled everyone his whole life and just two penalties conceded, in fact against Liverpool shouldn't have been a penalty, the other situation he was actually withdrawing hi foot against Watford. Bisaka has mastered the art of slide tackling and PGMOL should be ashamed of that decision on Sunday.

Kambwala looks like the real deal. I can’t wait to see how Kambwala and Mainoo do under a proper coach with an actual style of play. All Ten Hag system does is leave the back line and midfield exposed. Mainoo is doing 2 jobs in midfield and Kambwala was doing 2 people’s jobs. Crazy “tactics” from Ten Hag.
