@@edp7096 No I don’t call it that. I’m very happy with the pickup of Keenan. I don’t think he’s going to be hurt much this year. I’m arguing against the op who says we should draft a wr cause Keenan gets hurt. I don’t think that’s a good reason to draft Rome, cause Keenan will play plenty for us.

The smart move would be to draft an offensive lineman at 9 or trade down for an o-lineman. People forget this Bears line got throttled by the Packers in week 18.

One thing I'd like to throw out there is that if the Bears trade down a couple picks, I would not be surprised at all to see them target Olu Fashanu if he's there. He was Caleb Williams' offensive tackle when they both played for Gonzaga High School and by all accounts have an excellent relationship and trust level. I say trade down because I would like for them to do that but they could well just look for drafting him at the number 9 spot as well. That just wouldn't be my preference.

  • @sjogre7789

I've seen 3, maybe 4 draft analysts say that somewhere in the late 4th or early 5th. This draft class suddenly drops off. But if whe get 2 more picks with a trade down it would be smart. 🤷‍♂️

The fact is first rounders especially top ten players hit way more often especially WRs. Take Odunze or Bowers at 9 if one of them is there. And if they both are gone and Alt is also gone then and only then do the trade down the 9 and 75 for the 14-16 and 44-46 range. Get a beast O Lineman at 15 and some highly rated Edges and D lineman around 45.

No, it's not. Not when you invested $7 million and a 5th round pick into the center position. You may not like what Poles has done, but you can't keep stacking resources into one of the least valuable positions in football.

It doesn't matter how many picks the Bears have in the rest of this draft, because those picks already bought you pro-bowl level starters in Allen and Sweat. You didn't lose out on talent. Just trading for more picks to have more pucks is bad business. Now, if there's no one at 9 that they think is a blue-chipper and some other GM wants to give you sometging special like a 1st rounder next year in order to move up 5-6 slots, then sure, do that. Get one of those 2nd tier star prospects at 15 or 16 and then have at least a shot to get a big star next year, too.

Trade down, get an edge and a second rounder in the form of a wide out. It’s simple……The Bears need an edge before a wide receiver. They also need a center.

With their second first round pick, I believe the Bears want a starter. Given that, there are holes to fill but the priority shifts positionally. WR3 and any lineman that can beat out a starter on either side of the ball. Trade down enough, Jackson Powers-Johnson is my huckleberry.

If they traded down, I would be going to a spot, say 15-18, where I could get JPJ. A stud center rookie could be handing the ball off to CW for 10-12 years. Boy that would help him not just this year, but for a long time. That would make it so the 2 center/guards they signed would be backups for the guards we have that miss a lot of time. More depth on the interior.
