Joy nailed it too. (She should know - her former colleague Colin Cowherd would not stop talking about T Lawrence.) Trevor Lawrence was viewed as easily the best prospect since Andrew Luck and a lock. He was hyped before he played on game in college, and his college career record was literally near perfect.

I am 100% a Caleb Williams fan but the media overhyping him and setting the bar extremely high is not the way to go and it’s making fans who ALREADY hated him for his nail polish and “whining” hate him even MORE. he’s a franchise QB, NOT the most likely to be HOF’er in the draft. if anything scouts SHOULD be saying MHJ if they’re calling THAT WR, “generational.” the standard shouldn’t be HOF, it should be throwing 4,000 yards & 40 TDs in a year, the Bears are so poverty that they’ve never had a QB do that in its century existence.

It sounds like Acho is the only one that can hear the actual question being asked. Maybe it should be posed like this: "James and Joy, you get one million free dollars if you guess correctly which player from this year's draft class with make the hall of fame." I bet they would pick a player under that scenario. I'm not saying Caleb Williams is the most likely, but to refuse to answer the question reads an inability to hear the actual question.

but hes not the most likely. all 3 top WR are more likely too succeed, because QB is the hardest position. some of the o-lineman are probably more likely. you have to take the position into account. and there is no chance that a position that they are easily the worst at projecting, is the most likely to make the HoF. they cant even guess if a QB is going to be good more than half the time, let alone be a HoFer. its utter nonsense to think williams, a guy that couldnt even match baker mayfields output in college in the same system, is more likely than someone like MHJ, who plays a much easier position, who is more talented, who is more athletic, with a prototypical body for his position at 6'4", with a HoF dad.

And even in his own draft class, I believe has a better chance of making it than him. I know media needs new topics every day, but we really got a chill with this now. Let these players play a single game in the NFL before we put any expectation on them. And like James said Eli Manning and Philip Rivers there’s a real discussion whether they should be in or not. HOF talk is absurd at this point, but he looks so pretty moving around and throwing the football. A lot of this depends on Chicago getting their S together and surrounding him with good coaching and players, but Williams looks like a really good one to me.

Acho the only one making sense. It’s not hard. It’s like in school “who is most likely to succeed”. It doesn’t mean nobody else is likely to succeed from that class. If we are placing bets, it’s not crazy to think Caleb can. He’s a qb and all the accolades go to QBs so if he’s great, he will be a HOFer

Acho saying he 'can't ease up on the HOF talk' is the first time I've ever felt like he's truly out of his depth. There are a million things that can happen to derail Caleb's career or cause bumps in production. They should stop trying to put him in the hall until he's had some sustained success in the NFL.

I can't tell if they are intentionally dragging on this debate for TV or are genuinely conflicted by the statement. James and Joy are losing sight of the words "most likely". The prompt doesn't say he will or should be a HOFer, but that he has the best odds to do so. I don't get why that's so difficult to understand or agree with. Nobody is crowning him as a HOFer before he's even drafted, but he's clearly the best player in the draft and plays the most important position in the NFL. My only hangup would be that the benchmark for QB's to make the HOF are much higher than any other position. I'd say MHJ has about equal odds to be a HOFer given he is a receiver.

Caleb Williams is a future HOFer, and I guarantee it. I can almost prove it. Just go watch his recent interview with Ryan Clark. That kid’s life is built on goals. His dang phone background is a list of ‘em. He cares about one thing, and one thing only, and that’s being the best to ever do it. And he ain’t letting anyone stop him. He chased a coach and moved schools cause he was the best to learn from. If the Bears aren’t going to help him achieve his goals, I promise he will find a way to get into situation with a team who will. He was practically built in a lab to do one thing. Win championships.

He's saying IF anyone is to make the Hall of Fame from this QB class it would be Caleb Williams-if being the obvious qualifier-not that he IS going to make the Hall of Fame. How is this even remotely controversial? The reason the word "Hall of Fame" is being thrown around is because Caleb has been considered by many to be one of the greatest quarterback prospects of all time. If that is the case, then, by definition, you'd have to say he has Hall of Fame potential.
