I wish they talked a bit more about blocking the way, here in São Paulo the left side of escalators is for people who are in a hurry, so you should always leave that side free. So when someone is standing there, people look at them like they killed their whole family 😂

Yes. I've been to Japan twice now, and I noticed that there's only one place in Japan that I've been in where "small talks" exist.... Osaka. People were so friendly and not so shy about interacting with strangers. Also, I noticed that a lot of people in Osaka speak really good English. Perhaps, due to their openness in speaking with foreigners (and people in general).

The "pure Japan" myth is just that, a myth. Their culture is so mixed between different cultures. Their alphabets are all based on either the "Chinese Alphabet", or other two alphabets that exist in order to read either Chinese symbols and/or read other Loan Words. The Meiji Restauration is also an example of how Japan criminalized its own culture in order to adapt to Western expansion. Japanese people used to be mostly tattooed, the Meiji Restauration made tattoos ilegall to "look good" to Europeans and Americans. Japan is the Brazil of Asia, more than any other country. Many of the important Japanese deities are also originally Indian deities. Okinawa and the North of Japan were up until recently a different culture with a different language. PS: No culture is "pure". The irony is that Japan is the furthest from this idea.

Japanese eating rules are not for me, definitely I will put all my hands on the table, raise my right foot on the chair, and start eating with bare hand (Indonesian warteg style). The thing that you should be careful in Indonesia are, dont eat with left hand (you must tell everybody as early as possible if you're left handed so they would not judge you) and dont make any sound when you're eating cause its sounds disgusting.

I disagree with the Brazilian girl. In São Paulo, it is prohibited to play music on public transport, and people tend to be quieter in public. I believe that the more urban the place is, the more cosmopolitan, and people tend to respect spaces shared with more people. I don't think talking loudly has anything to do with joy or happiness. It has more to do with individualism and thinking that everyone has to put up with the noise. If you want to get to know the real Brazil, the mix of people that formed the country, including good and bad parts, you have to live in São Paulo for at least a year. A detail: São Paulo has the largest Japanese community in Brazil, and Brazil has the largest Japanese community outside of Japan.

I don't know about São Paulo Metropolitan area or other states, but here in the western part of São Paulo countryside I have yet to see someone with loud music on the bus. Some people on the bus have earphones, some they may talk with each other but they don't put loud music. I hear people putting loud music in their houses and dance to it or do tasks with music plays; people drive while listening to loud music, some edgy teenagers may walk on the streets listening to questionable music on their cellphones without wearing earphones but it's not even that common anymore. But in other videos she said she lived in different states so the culture of each place varies a lot inside Brazil.

@@valerioluizfelipe I believe she has been out of Brazil for more than a decade. It was common for transport such as Towners and vans to have music or radio being played. I believe she must be from the south of Brazil. But these smaller transports like kombi vans and vans were private, and in the beginning the rules were more flexible. However, there was severe regulation on the subject, and everything changed. The São Paulo subway is also an example of administration, including the majority of passengers who respect small behavioral etiquettes such as not sitting on the floor of the vehicle or surrounding areas, and avoiding speaking loudly. In all staircases, the left side is always left empty, so that people in a hurry can pass. Of course, during carnival or cultural festivals there is greater relaxation. Let's not forget that Japanese trains during peak hours are a nightmare, including countless cases of harassment suffered by women. In other words, all places have misfits. But of course, Brazil and the USA cannot be compared with other countries, or be generalized, given the racial and cultural variety of these two countries, more than any others in the world.

She’s telling the truth, though. It depends on the kind of shopping malls, of course you wouldn’t see this kind of thing in Plaza Indonesia or Plaza Senayan in Jakarta, for example. But if you go to lower end malls, you would definitely see people sitting on the stairs and on the floor. In fact, our people are notorious for doing this. If you see people sitting on the floor in countries with a lot of overseas Indonesian workers, locals would definitely assume that they’re Indonesian. Is it kampungan? Yes. But is it the truth? Also yes.

Comunque ho notato spesso in vari video che i rappresentanti dell'est asiatico, non solo Giappone, sono in effetti gli unici che non parlano inglese. Però sembrano capirlo perfettamente. Best of all, it seems like all the other girls here understand Japanese perfectly! Does everyone really understand this so well? But they never talked it.
