@@buckslayer5612if you’re paying good money for a couch that gets messed up by jeans, you just have poor taste 😂 I have a very nice leather couch that I picked up used for a bargain. I’ve had it for 5 years of heavy use still with no wear. This couch has endured all those winters of my clean and dirty jeans. I imagine it would be the jean material itself that wears on cheap/ faux leather. Plus the out facing rivets on the rear are smooth faced unlike the ones he showed near the pockets.

On each pair of Levi's Jeans 501XX produced from 1937 was a pocketflasher with the words: 'The Rivet's Still There' as introduction of the hidden rivets. They changed in 1966 their hidden rivets into bar tacks on their jeans. Technology made it possible to strength the back pockets with bar tacks instead of rivets.

Ok let me put this into perspective for everyone since our entire culture is in love with the idea that price = quality. $365 import jeans vs $60 domestic work pants / jeans. I use Carhartt for domestic. 1) Idk how much, but you’re paying for the import, that’s why this video lists cost after shipping. 2) thickness is cool, but nothing other than Kevlar is saving you from a skin on concrete grind at *60mph* 😉. 3) all of the additions like hidden rivets and tucked loops are cool and MAY add to resilience, but… I can buy 6 pair of Carhartt before touching the price of these pants. I’ll put it this way. I am hard on my clothes, down right abusive. I camp / hike almost every weekend and work in them when I’m not camping… the worst I’ve managed is blowing out one pair of $60 Carhartts a year. Sew some knee patches if you REALLY need them, otherwise just don’t grind stone on your pants for some weird durability test and you’ll be fine.

carhartts fall apart way faster than they used to. Iron hearts are nowhere near as durable as they claim to be. Blakladders are a little more expensive than carhartts and they last forever.

Ok but like if you’re worried about road rash get in a racing suit. Full coverage and you can take multiple falls, also the same price as where you only cover your legs. You can’t tell me these will survive 10 feet of a good slide. Then your out 400 from jeans and still going to the emergency room. Haven't looked into these in particular but most of the higher end manufacturers have a large array of sizes or will tailor them to meet your needs. After all, if you're dropping hundreds on an article of clothing you want it to fit well.

I wear carhartt jeans and ive had the same 5 pairs for the past 5 years. No tears, and they are very comfortable. They're a little stained from transmission fluid and oil but other than that, they're great.

Have you tried Grease Lightning on them? Not sure, but it gets out hair color without changing the fabric. I add a cap of 3% peroxide to a cup for cleaning and it gets welding fingerprints off a white fridge.

Levi's 1947 501 Selvedge they're 'tight' for lack of a better word. I'm not big by any stretch, 5'11 160 and wear a size 32. And the jeans are meant to shrink in a wash or a soak. Wear them as they dry, and they should conform. @@ianturnbow7011

I think your underestimating cotton/denim. You can get similar strength from weaker materials by using more material often, and cotton is a lot more comfortable and breathable than Kevlar. If you want really good protection, leathers are it. Weak denim reinforced poorly with kevlar is almost certainly worse than very heavy cotton

As a German I am impressed, these jeans seem very well made

They make actual motorcycle jeans that have pads sewn in. Some are even waxed to help prevent tearing. They can run you at $150-$300. Personally I just use shin guards or sometimes my one pair of riding pants that I got for $50 at a discount store, but apparently some people actually care about their body for whatever reason. For them, I recommend any riding pants that comes from a reliable brand

And they fall apart much quicker. There’s clothes that cost a lot because they’re trendy designer clothes, and clothes that cost a lot because they’re made to last forever and still feel as good as when you first bought them years later. For example, a good pair of new leather boots, once broken in and shaped to your feet, can last 30+ years of regular wear. Say you wear them 1500 times, and the boots costs $300, that rounds out to 20¢ per time you wore them. But a $50 pair worn ten times is $5 per use.

Bro I have jeans from freshman year high school. 10+ years. The only thing that’s frayed on them is the bottoms near my heals because they weren’t hemmed and fit me long. Wtf are you putting in your pockets??? How tf are your jeans wearing out? Because this sounds like user error. For context my jeans are Walmart and old navy brand. I used to get them with the elastic waist before I found my favorite belt. The elastic is still holding up and has not at all worn out. I wear jeans every day, when I was in school then after up to where I work now. Countless 1000s of washes. What are you doing wrong?

@@CharlieApplesI will give you the point though. Cowboy boots are extremely worth it. Just replace the sole every bit worth $300. But what are you doing wrong with your jeans straight up bro? You have to be doing something, I work construction so you can’t say mine don’t get abused enough. I’ve put 10 years on $20 jeans. The only time I’ve had to give them up is when my waist got bigger. I can honestly say yes the jeans getting frayed near my heals is my honest fault. If I learned to sew or just paid someone $5 per jeans that $25 and the would last 20 years even easier. Creating my wardrobe for 2 weeks that’s jeans and shirts is easy and I can still do that for less than you get one pair and no shirt, socks, or shoes.

As a motorcycle rider I can tell you any serious rider would never buy this for one reason: $150 motorcycle jeans will outperform these in a crash/slide Id also add a common problem on bikes is the engine heat, unless its used in colder environments thick cotton is gonna get real hot real quick.

And they'll still blow out in the knees. All this strengthening of pockets and belt loops, I have never even seen a pair of jeans fail in any of those areas. It is ALWAYS the knees that go.

Every single pair iv ever owned has worn out in the crotch, got jeans that have been sewn up in the crotch a couple times until it’s not worth doing any more and the rest of them is good as new 😂 one day ill find reinforced crotch jeans and have a pair that lasts forever.

you know thats the difference between being poor and not - poor people will look at something you could save for and instead buy cheap shit just so you can have a ton of it while you could buy the one thing and it will last forever actually saving you money in the long run. Custom woven fabric and hardware,first world country manufacturing and expertise, meticulous patern making are part of an important and costly process. Will a 300$ pair of jeans last 7 time as long as made in Bangladesh cheap denim,fuck no. Is it much higher quality, absolutely. At the end of the day,premium selvedge jeans are a functionnal but luxurious piece of clothing,not workwear

I can buy so many pairs of pants with that amount of money, that they would never wear out, because I could go weeks without wearing the same pair twice. 25oz IH666 XHD indigo-black are over €500 and worth every penny.

I have about 10 pairs... I have pair that i wore every day on my farm for four years and they actually get better the more they are worn. They fit better then every other jean i've ever owned and are more stylish. If you live in a hot climate don't bother they are way too heavy/hot. They are also collectable, so if you have a really worn pair that looks cool, it actually makes them valuable in the secondary market. Pro tip: don't wash them if you don't want the indigo to fade. You can use febreze on them...

I keep my raw denim in the freezer, helps to air them out, and defunk them without washing them. if they are really nasty, just take a shower with them on, let a little extra shampoo do the trick, and sun dry them, or wear them dry

@@haonyoass9556 Yea your opinion is valid and I agree but these jeans are made for a purpose and they are well made for it in my opinion. They are not “cheap” or “everyday” jeans but for work/working class.

Kinda reminds me of my 520g/m^2 traditional german work pants. Thicc as can be but the most comfortable pants in my closet

I don’t like Walmart but I have to admit that they used to make some Carpenter jeans under their “Old Glory” label. Used to cost between $22 to $27 depending on the time of year. I do architectural demolition and restoration so we use the hell out of everything and I mean everything. Those jeans would last me at least on average 2 years sometimes more. If I had known they would discontinue that brand I would have stocked up. I saved so much money on work jeans for a good decade.

So to be clear- they're made of plastic blend. Not even real denim.

I think he just said the threads in the seams of the rest of the jeans are poly-cotton blend. The fabric might be too (I’d have to look it up) but he just said the threads.

The thread for seams is made of polyester-cotton blend. The jeans themselves are cotton. Polyester thread and poly-cotton hybrid thread is much stronger that cotton only. Most modern jeans have polyester stitching. Also the zipper base and labels on jeans is typically plastic too.

Well.... I wear Grivec Bros. 14 oz Japanese selvedge denim jeans , €267,- >>>$288,-, they last about 6 years..... which is about €44,- a year.

365$ a jean in insanity , you wont survive a frontal shock anyway.

I wish they made trade versions that were actually more firm than regular jeans. Most modern jeans are too soft and I wear holes in them and they get thin over time. Used to be able to buy jeans anywhere that were actually work rated, now youve gotta go buy some fancy carhartts and they arent even as tough as dickey's jeans were 20 years ago

I've been searching for the best jack-of-all trades pair of jeans for years now. I do lots of outdoor work, activities, building, carpentry, camping, boating, logging, etc. As of today, I've only found two companies that make a pair of pants that handle the abuse and have the features that I want in my pants. Those two companies are Truwerk and Off The Grid. Both have gusseted crotches so they don't rip when you squat. OTG have dual hip pockets on each backside, slightly offset from the traditional buttcheek pocket. I personally use them for my phone and keys. They are offset enough that I can sit with them and not crush them. Both companies also have a certain percentage of spandex in the fabric so it stretches extremely well. Truwerk has many pockets on the pantleg, and OTG has a hidden pocket on the leg for valuables. Truwerk also has reinforced buttocks, knee, and thighs for those of us who end up having a lot of abrasion due to our jobs. Each pair runs somewhere close to $50 to $150 depending on cut and style, but I'm more than happy with them and use them every single day.

These actually remind me of my Levi’s but I know the time, care, and materials that went into making these ones is probably more, but mine have all the same features and comfort and etc, but are kind of for skateboarding and sports, been wearing same 3 pairs every day for about 10 years now, if not slightly longer… and still like brand new.
