No its not. The argument is completely valid. For one, money is never truly guaranteed. There are many examples throughout NBA for that. When Gil got suspended indefinitely for gun charges until he was brought back he missed games without pay, and no, you dont make that money back in some lump sum later. When Ja kept getting suspended last year, he missed those games without pay. Draymond now is going to be missing games with docked pay depending on the length of his suspension. Even if you are talking about injury specific missed games, Ben Simmons missed pay during his tenure with the 6ers while claiming injuries and tried to sue for that money back. Even still, Ron isnt talking about now, hes talking about the future, if Ja gets injured, the pay he would likely receive in future contracts COULD greatly diminish as it has happened with numerous other signings throughout NBA history.
