WHY IT'S THE BEST FERRARI TESTAROSSA AND WHAT IS IT WORTH!?

Season 2 Episode 3: We look at our 1991 Ferrari Testarossa. We discuss why it's believed to be the best example in the country and what it's worth. This however, is not your average Testarossa. This is a one owner, 1,500 mile, double Platino winner and a Best in Class recipient. The car has been shown at the Ferrari Club of America (FCA) 2017 Concours and at the Cavallino Classics 2018. Additionally, the car has been featured on Viceland's Most Expensivest TV show and autographed by Paolo Pininfarina.

That car is a ticking time-bomb. Stock tires, stock timing belts, and driven. That takes some guts.

Gaston Rossato Loved the video. I just bought a ‘90 version , same color, looks identical , from Greenwich ,CT. Mine has 6500ish miles . Bought it from original owner. It’s all stock except I installed a custom high performance exhaust . Obviously , the original is still in my garage . The car sounds incredible and spits fire, lol. I’d love to meet you and show you my car if you’re ever in the CT/NY area !

Thats one special Testarossa! Thanks for the info in the beginning and though I'm not up to date on pricing for these cars, the price you mentioned at the end seems reasonable for a car so special. Keep the vids coming!

Hello Gaston! Hello Renzo! What a video, what a youtube-channel! Your content and quality of the video is absolutely great. I am one of your 399 subscribers and probably the only one from Taiwan. I wish that in one year you will have 399.000 subs. Good luck with selling the Testarossa for your price tag. I think it is worth it. Just one question out of interest: How many people are involved in making your videos? The two of you and a camera-man or an entire team? I think you went all in when it comes to making the videos! So great! Good luck. Ah... I found your channel through your content of the Alfa 75 Evo. Just for your information. Best wishes!

I had the chance to buy a 1988 Testarossa with 985 miles for $155k in mid 2019. I talked to the local Ferrari dealer and the service manager said that the best thing about it is the worst thing about it. A car that has not been hardly driven will leak like the Exxon Valdez because all the gaskets and seals have shrunk because of the age of it. He said to make it drivable I need to spend close to $50,000 on servicing everything from A to Z. Once I start driving it, the value will go down because it won’t have the low miles. I decided against blowing all the money on a car I had to decide I either never drive or lose a ton of money to service it and make it drivable. These guys price is ridiculously high. No one sane will pay that kind of money. These cars are hardly rare as over 7000 of them were sold and most are still on the road.

that timing belt hardens up and cracks when it sits, you're supposed to change those belts every 3 years at most stretching it to 5, if your belts break that's a $30k rebuild.

  • @michaelcarusone631

I agree about changing the original belts. But an owner myself, I think the 3-5 year change is a bit too soon. I think it’s suggested that way in part to make the dealers and /or mechanics more money over the years. I’m personally going to go more like 6-7 years.

Here from Palos. Gorgeous example of an amazing car. Not the one I'd buy personally (I'm afflicted with the need to drive things, hence 67k on a lamborghini and 283k on an NSX) but the world needs time capsule cars like this as reference pieces and benchmarks so the rest of us can go and see what "that one part" was supposed to look like before we messed with it. I have some 1st hand experience with an '86.5 (flying mirror, 3rd brake light, no automatic belts yet) car and they're lovely to drive aside from the workout you get parking them, lol.
