Wow. Interesting information, we should be proud of this nomenclature, that only we Indians use to call this measure as PEG. For people from rest of the world should have to learn that in Indian Bars and Restaurants they have to ask PEG and not SHOT to relive there sour throats.😊🇮🇳

Dear Dada..., Rum, whiskey, vodka and tequila are ordered at the bar. And the order by which the measure is measured. The object that measures it is called a peg. One side is 30 ml and the other side is 60 ml.

FYI. as per Oxford the word PEG meaning is enlarge a short piece of wood, metal or plastic used for holding things together, hanging things on, marking a position, etc. There is no relation between Alcohol and PEG as per my Knowledge.

In my professional field, ‘peg’ is used in Surveying; but in our India peg is used as a measure of drink in bars. Absolutely right that in abroad bartenders say shot; 1 shot, double shot like this. Interestingly if I say 1 shot in Indian bars, bartender will provide me tequila! 😀
