Why is this bass so special (the Mojo?)
Музыка
There are certain things you look for in a bass - drive and definition, gut-punching low end - but if I had to sum up the sound of this instrument in one word, it would be ‘huge’ - monstrously, impossibly huge!
Any avid Periphery fan will instantly recognise this bass from Adam ‘Nolly’ Getgood’s onstage antics over the years. Behold - one of the very first Dingwall NG-2 4-string basses ever made! It also happens to be Nolly’s number one instrument when it comes to recording. And we’re giving you the chance to win it!

Ryan Martinie has been one of my favorite bassists for his tone as well as bringing a very technical style of bass playing to the metal genre, slapping and all.

I have a ng3 you can get the Warwick thumb tone out of it does just get gritty tones it get very very clean low end and miss super crisp
Nolly’s bass tone is by far my favourite. Every single varient of tone he’s had through every Periphery record has hit the nail for me on what i like.
The Bass tone of Clay Goober of Polyphia is freaking MASSIVE, and i love every single note that is played.
@GENXJOPLIN

His name is goober holy shit Fitting for such an insufferably stupid pretentious band
Amos Williams takes the cake for me, not just because he's such a good bassist with such good tone, but because he, as well as the rest of tesseract, are such smart musicians, everything sits together SO well
Geddy Lee definitely has my favourite bass tone, the distorted high end and the clean low end is just so good

Dude, that 72 Jazz bass sounds insane. Especially on Snakes and Arrows Live or Clockwork Angels
I’ve always loved Tim Commerford’s tone. Rage Against the Machine.
Jon Stockman from Karnivool has the most amazing bass tones I've ever heard. They're impossibly huge and warm with all the clarity to hear the intricacies of his playing. Phenomenal!
Favorite Rock tone right now: Jon Stockman of Karnivool. Killer!
Amos Williams from Tesseract has probably my favorite with Nolly coming in close second

Super fat tone with crazy compession, to the point where some of his notes have a warm distortion. I can't describe it. I've never been able to compare it to anything else.

I’ve fallen in love with these basses in the past two weeks or so, and it’s an outstanding coincidence to see one pop up here. Bass tone? I don’t know how it gets better than Pino Palladino.
Always loved Chris Squire’s tone, especially on his solo work.

I’ve always admired Sting’s bass tone. I love a bassist who isn’t afraid to get creative with fretted and fretless instruments.
Chris Squire’s tone has always been my favorite.

Legend has it chris Squire, got his amazing tone by splitting his bass signal into two channels, one to an amped Classic S.V.T the other a marshall guitar head.i'am not sure how accurate that information is,you gotta do your own research on that matter. However,i do know he had a very unique picking style,in which incorporated using his pick and thumb simultaneously against the strings.

The power that Chris Wolstenholme brings to the band Muse with his bass tone is simply un-matched. Maybe for a video look into achieving his bass tone for obvious tracks like uprising and hysteria, as im yet to see a good attempt on here at those tracks 🤟
