G'day Guys and Gals!
In this video I give you a FULL walk-through of my 2023 Suzuki Jimny GLX model. The Suzuki Jimny GLX JB74 is a special vehicle because of its heritage and also tough off-road heritage. It features a ladder frame chassis with live axle coil sprung suspension which makes it a great off-road 4x4 vehicle. It also features Suzuki's ALL GRIP traction control system which is used as a brake lock differential. This means that when traction is lost and wheels begin to spin, the spinning wheels will be braked and drive will be sent to both wheels to maintain traction.
The 2023 Suzuki Jimny GLX JB74 also has an upgraded head unit and infotainment system. The head unit display has been upgraded to a 9inch display with integrated apple car play and android auto. The reverse camera is also viewed through the large 9 inch display.
In this video I give you a full walk-through and review of the 2023 Suzuki Jimny JB74 GLX model. I show you all of the features and inclusions in the top of the range GLX model. I also show you how the Suzuki Jimny can be slept in by converting the seats into a flat platform for car camping or sleeping.

The 2023 Suzuki Jimny GLX (QLD) is an all wheel drive two-door wagon that was released to the Australian market on 01/04/2022 classified as a GJ MY22. The Jimny is regarded as a SUV light built in Japan with prices starting at $33,490 before on-road costs.
The Jimny is an all wheel drive 2 door with 4 seats, powered by a 1.5L INLINE 4 engine that has 75 kW of power (at 6000 rpm) and 130 Nm of torque (at 4000 rpm) via a Four-speed Automatic. Suzuki claims the Jimny GLX (QLD) uses 6.9L/100km of Unleaded Petrol in the combined city and highway cycle while putting out 158g of CO2. It has a 40L fuel tank, meaning it should be able to travel 580km per full tank.
The Jimny measures 1720mm (67.7 inches) in height, 3480mm (137.0 inches) in length, 1645mm (64.8 inches) in width with a 2250mm (88.6 inches) wheelbase that brings about a total of 1110kg (2447.1 lbs) of unladen weight. The Jimny GLX (QLD) comes standard with 195/80 R15 front tyres and 195/80 R15 rear tyres. It requires a service every 12 months or 15,000 km, whichever comes first. It has a 60 month, unlimited kilometre warranty.
The 2023 Suzuki Jimny GLX (QLD) has a 210mm ground clearance with a 1300kg braked and 350kg unbraked towing capacity. It has a final gear ratio of 4.200.
The Jimny has received a 3 star rating from ANCAP. The VIN number can be found on the Rear Driver Side Chassis and the compliance plate is located on the LHS - On Bulkhead in Eng Comp.
The Suzuki Jimny is a great small vehicle and is the smallest 4x4 on the market. It is also one of the best off-road 4wd vehicles available to buy brand new. This is because of its live axle with coil sprung suspension setup and ladder frame chassis. I show you close ups of all of the inclusions and features of the Suzuki Jimny. I also talk through some of the technical specifications of the Suzuki Jimny GLX Jb74 model.
The Suzuki Jimny's 1.5l engine and manual transmission put out a whopping 75KW and 130NM of torque. The power to weight ratio is 69kW/t, this is more then an Isuzu Mu-x, Toyota Prado but slightly less then a Landcruiser 70 series 4.5L v8 TD. The vehicle drives great and has really good response and acceleration.
I have previously owned a 2008 and 2011 Suzuki Jimny and I can honestly say that Suzuki have done an amazing job of upgrading everything with the new 2023 model while still keeping its tough off-road capabilities. The interior of the 2023 Model Suzuki Jimny Jb74 J64 GLX has been improved by 100 times! The interior has a lot more space and also a lot more creature comforts. The Infotainment system, climate control system, Headlights, reverse camera and suspension system have all been improved to bring this vehicle into the modern day.
Driving the Suzuki Jimny is so FUN! The zippy engine and manual gearbox make this vehicle very enjoyable to drive around town and the country side. The engine does rev high on the highway, at about 3400 RPM at 110km/hr but the vehicle is happy to sit there and it will rev away all day long. It still returns great economy while at these RPM at sub 7L/100KM.
The Jimny has a 40L petrol fuel tank and can get an estimated distance of between 400-550KM. The fuel light comes on with approximately 10-12L of fuel left in the tank to give you some range to get it refilled.

2021 glx owner here. The thing about this edition of Jimnys is that they're a 'feeling.' They're not the best for off-road. They're not particularly comfy. You can't drive them particularly fast (or with any speed through corners). Yet, somehow, they endear themselves to you in a way that is just indescribable. Not to mention you always get questions/complements on them from everyone (seriously, I pulled up for petrol at the same time as a 2022 range rover the other day and the attendants immediately bee-lined to me to say how much they love the Jimny lol. If you can get one, and aren't a maniacal/demanding driver, go for it. The Jimny specializes in the intangibles. Great video Nick, cheers.

as a Jimny owner i can confirm that you get complements for lots of people. You get more attention than 99% of the cars out there.

That was very well presented. I have a 1999 Suzuki Grand Vitara 3 door 2.0L Auto (as a second vehicle) and it goes most places. You are enticing me to go for a test drive in the Jimny.

I’ve got a couple at my home in Barbados. Love them. But… I’m pretty sure the driver’s seat is not aligned with the steering wheel. Anyone else notice this?
Great video mate, I ordered a GLX today and I'm pretty excited. The only thing is I can't seem to find many aftermarket wheel options around. I'd like to put some nicer looking wheels with A/T tyres to make it look a little chunkier, do you have any suggestions for me please mate? Cheers!

Cheers Adz. The Jimny towing capacity is 1300kg braked and 350kg unbraked. So the 1350kg is not technically legal but I'm sure it would do it no worries 🤣

How much are these manual models new from the dealer? The prices have been completely hidden on the dealership website, even when you request a quote.

Hi Nick I have Isuzu MU-X MY 16.5 LS-U. What does it mean when the car goes in Limp Mode. I have the Engine Light on and the Traction Light on. And very sluggish power . Would it be the turbo ? Hope to here from you Soon. Thanks Nick. Ps Or something Else?

It could be a lot of different things. You need to get the car scanned with an OBDII scan tool to read out the specific fault codes. Could be turbo, Dpf, EGR or a hundred other things.

I have to agree with some of the comments. It's way overpriced for what you get by about 25% I'd say. I bought a 2023 and you certainly won't hear the sales person tell you it's just short of dangerous on the motorway in any sort of wind, it makes a weird noise when you pull off, the transfer case whines, the engine noise at 115km/h isn't much better than my Defender. None of these things I really noticed when test driving (you'll notice the sales folk keep you on back roads). I get that it's light and high suspenshion but it's really bad.....and wait for it, if you upgrade the suspension, you loose the warranty on the drive line. I love my 20 year old Defender, this not so much. 😢

If you bought a jimny so you can drive it around 115km/h then you are certainly a bonker. You should buy this little monster because of its offroad capability. And its head turner design is just a plus.

I bought street legal OME suspenshion and had the dealer install and set it up. No loss of warranty? I even got a document saying so. Buy, yes. Absolutly dangerous on the motorway. Or anything above 80 kph
Way too small for the price tag, if you have a passenger boot space, well you might fit a pair of shoes. Needs to be the size of the old vintara's.

@@gringo19860its because jimny is a 4x4, thats why its higher in price..if you want a vehicle for everyday use, you certainly dont need this jimny..but if your into rough road and want to play…jimny will be good for you,..actually its one of the cheapest 4x4 around.
They nailed the design. All the rest is really cheap build for the price.
