Well, i was a cast Member at Disneyland from 2017-2019 and from what i know is that the draw bridge no longer functions they welded the bridge to the brick bridge due to safety concerns that someone might be hurt if the bridge is activated by someone by accident. I been at Main street at around 3am and it's very beautiful to be at the park with no one around.

@@mamasousandfriends unfortunately i never got to experience the event between departments. But i have heard that they're great. I have walked around backstage and onstage walking from DCA to Harbor Point and from there walking all thru Disneyland areas at 2-3am. There have been so many ghost stories that I was hoping to encounter one.

Robin TheHood not satanism and pedophilia, but stalkers are an issue. Because all the people working in the park are adults, it’s not pedophilia. And I don’t know where the satanism claim came from, but it’s not that severe. People can be rude sometimes, but that’s kinda it.

Since I was little I've always touched that little gold spot with my toe thinking it was the center of Disneyland! The real reason is interesting though. Still worthy of a toe touch. ;) Thanks for going through the castle tour! I've always been curious about what it looks like but have never gone in for fear of some claustrophobia problems in the family. Never knew about the accessible room either -- will have to check it out!

I never knew Sleeping Beauty's castle was an inspiration from a castle in Germany that we see in all Disney movies. That's so incredible. I'm so interested in learning more about my favorite park and I'm so glad that Provost Park Pass is helping me become a Disney Pro. Huge fan already!

Does anyone remember the candy shop and sword and armor store that were in the Castle?

@@jeremyduncan3654 They still sell swords in US Disney parks. There were several different ones in Animal Kingdom when I was there last month. The most likely explanation was that they thought they could make more money selling something else there.

This was my first stop when I got into Disneyland last week! Wish you would have posted this then, though because a cast member asked me how tall it was, but I didn't know, so I couldn't see her secret pins.

Right, and from what I've heard, when Roy objected about using real 24K gold for the castle due to cost, Walt sent him on a business trip and had the gold placed on the spires while he was gone!

Where is that yellow Mickey dress? I just love that. You guys had PPP Mickey ears made…. I’m surprised a CM didn’t say anything to you about them. I love those as well! 👍👍👍

How many bricks were used to make the castle? Zero, its all concrete! It was made small to hide inside the burm and keep Anaheim out. WDW castle is designed to be seen oustside the park and advertise throughout WDW. Who's castle was it before Sleeping Beauty's? Snow White's! They changed it very quickly to Sleeping Beauty's as they were working on the film at that time (released in 59'). Walt also mistakenly called it Snow White's castle on live tv. This is why the wishing well was installed. The fountain and figurines came from Italy after the name change as a tribute! Oh and the cats and the fleas in the castle prior to the walk-through. Great video A! I love learning more... I haven't seen the accessible area before... 12/1 I'm gonna check it out! Thanks!

Haven't been through the castle in probably 10 years now. They're always closing it down for some refurbishment when I go, the last time was back in May for a paint job to get ahead of the Star Wars land opening, a huge tarp with a picture of a castle made me none to happy considering I was bringing my 3 year old to the park for the first time. I'm sure he couldn't care any less, but if we could have gotten a family photo in front of it to have a memory of the day it would have been nice.

I also believe the castle was created for television. The dimensions are easier to frame within a 3x4 screen and was used as the backdrop for the Disneyland and Wonderful World of Disney show.

They forgot to mention that the second floor of the castle had a flea and tick infestation because of all the cats living in the castle before they added the diorama

I hate to be "that guy", but the draw bridge can no longer be raised. Safety work was done a few years ago that makes the bridge immobile. I guess it could be undone within a few hours if it ever needed to be raised.

I think I could build that castle over a weekend in my backyard.

i dont know if anyone can answer a question about the castles or something to look into in a video... but paris disneyland is also sleeping beauty's castle , but they are differnt designs . cinderellas is in disney world but i have a paris sleeping beautys castle which opend out into a cinderella play set !!! yet the toy was producted after all 3 castles !

Walt didn’t have the money to build a better castle. The team was already low on funding. It had nothing to do with his desire for a less intimidating edifice.

Honestly, people are gonna hate me but I believe they should make the sleeping beauty castle bigger or get rid of the walk through attraction and instead add something to it like a restaurant and a private vip suite in it, it’s too small to me, and I’m from California, when you look at the other castles and compare it, it’s too small, I would say keep the design and colors but make it bigger and taller, cause it really needs something to spice it up, and before Disney fans start get nostalgic and start saying things like “Walt Disney would turn over in his grave if they change the castle or do anything to the castle” or “but it’s iconic and shouldn’t be touched” let’s remember that Walt Disney said “Disneyland will never be completed. It will continue to grow as long as there is imagination left in the world”. And I believe maybe he would have updated the castle, then again maybe not, we’ll never know, but I believe that the castle should not be an exception to that Disney quote, and being that this is the OG castle, it deserves better, it deserves a major upgrade, and not just a refurbishment.

I've watched the PPP videos for a little while now and Chris has been entertaining with his sounds and silly antics. Those dont work for you Amanda the boops and dancing and silly moves come across as you trying to copy Chris and what works for him. You need to come up with your own personality and quirks. Also since I'm being critical here I might as well say there is "NT" in fountain. I heard you say fou - in a few times.
