Why is Octopus Blood Blue?
Octopus's blood contains no hemoglobin. Instead, they use hemocyanin to carry oxygen. Hemocyanin contains copper molecules instead of iron, which gives the blood a blue color.

The question is: Why do they need 3 hearts?

An octopus's three hearts have slightly different roles. One heart circulates blood around the body, while the other two pump it past the gills, to pick up oxygen.
