Caring for Cuttlefish

Ғылым және технология

www.sciencefriday.com
Raising cuttlefish in captivity from helpless eggs to full-grown predators can present daunting challenges for an aquarium. In order to ensure they have cuttlefish to exhibit, the Monterey Bay Aquarium's staff takes extra measures and provides these complex cephalopods a helping hand. Using recycled soda bottles, modified cradles, and deep knowledge of each species' husbandry, 95% of the cuttlefish spawned at Monterey Bay Aquarium survive into adulthood.

This is the smallest of the cuttlefish...and they are amazing creatures. The larger are remarkable as they flit and change their appearance. Neon is a word that applies to them in the purest sense. Sadly they do not live long. Love the information...I am learning! I am also sharing so others may understand the magnificence of our oceans and what marine life means to our planet and humans. Yes, I'm a scuba diver...

3:40 unique in the sense they can invert different waves of color camouflage while constantly moving. where an octopus can only produce a solid base of camouflage. the real trick would not being able to transmit any heat trail while moving and staying clothe. Good luck
