Besides No Doubt The Gen Z music artist of today is only popular on TikTok and YT Shorts but will not sell out a concert let alone a festival.

two years ago I got a free vip pass, and STILL ended up paying $2k out of pocket for airbnbs, hotels, food and transportation. It's not worth it!! the tickets are just the beginning.

I lived in Palm Springs for eleven years and was able to attend the first two. Attendees were largely fans that would attend regular concerts. Now it’s mostly trust fund kids that attend so they can brag on social media and wooks that are just there for the controlled substances.

Just from the news videos one could tell they were not "regular" young adults. And I took a look at the prices and that alone tells one who is attending. I can't afford that plus transportation, meals, souvenirs and I would want to camp, but my guess the facility has no quiet time. Restaurants will be overcrowded and food atrocious and any lodging will be at premium rate. And I don't even know any of the "so called artists." Hard pass. Take a couple nice little mini road trips and save thousands of dollars.

It became a fashion show for children of society's elite. Very very odd. They traded the music for yoga pants on a billionaire.

Its a concert for trust fund babies at this point well actually for awhile 😅

A friend of mine runs a booth at the Coachella events, and hears the customer complaints. They don't like how some of the bands sound or how hard they play. Outside venues are not the same as studio recordings. Fights break out, women get sexually assaulted...

People are waking up, maybe seeing all the disasters happening

The problem with this festival is that people and celebrities made it a must be seen festival then an actual music festival. Also, some of the lineups lately have been terrible but that’s my opinion. Coachella has been trying their best to move with the times can’t hate on it but something is clearly lacking and hurting the festival these past 14 years.

Stupid waste of money. I would advise socking away as much money and supplies as you can, things are going to get very tough for a while and there may come a time not to far off when you'll kick yourself for wasting $700.00 that you may desperately need. Don't mean to be a downer but it's best to be prepared.

As people grow up, they no longer think paying a thousand bucks to microdose around in 90 degree heat getting dust in your crack all weekend to see bands half of which you've never heard of, and the other half everyone will forget in 3 years- is cool. Woodstock, Altamont, Travis Scott in Houston...it's all over. No one will care you were there.

It starting to sound like The Salton Sea... It was once the hottest desert 🏜destination in the 50's - 60's with investors like; Bob Hope, Dean Martin and even Frank Sinatra had hotels, resorts and restaurants. And suddenly it became irrelevant! Hey Cochellaaaa, I think I hear the "RAT-PACK" calling!

Because festivals are overrun by influencers and the lineups have gotten much worse Single artists shows have been and always will be better

Because the line is terrible-has been for years. Overpriced for garbage artists. And lastly and mist importantly, I do not want to spend a bunch of money, drive down to SoCal, to spend a weekend surrounded by a bunch of insufferable "influencers" who walk around with a camera vlogging everything. Overall, the crowd that goes to Coachella is just beyond insufferable now.

Coachella has been too damn high and not worth the time

Coachella has been played out except for that one time right after the Pandemic was lifted. Prices have soared at stays because they assume each year will be as expected. However, the same attendees that once spend that kind of money no longer can afford to splurge. The venue lost its luster. The artist lineup isn’t the only major factor.

All u guys are spot on with the contributing factors. One that speculators are missing is the sour taste after the infamous fiasco with Frank Ocean . It got people pissed and they were left with empty hopes and promises.

I wish I could have gone last year. If they could have gotten the exact lineup this year they would have been fine.

I've never been to Coachella, but I was how it ised to be a Indie music summer festival. Now it's just a bunch of entitled celebrities/influencers who took over.

I was able to purchase the tickets back in June 2023 for this year's Coachella so that is why I'm going. (plus i do like the performing acts that are on the list, check them out!) but to give some context or perspective to why a good amount of people are NOT buying... I was laid off right before the new year so i definitely would not be comfortable with a $600-1200 ticket...the industry affected were the tech, entertainment, etc divisions so thank god for the payment plan starting in June 2023, COACHELLA here i come!

It’s really cool and i want to go, but id rather use the money for something else like camp flog gnaw later this year

They allow way too many ticket sales for this event, and it is now uncomfortable to go to COACHELLA🎉. You can’t bring any seating there’s no room to sit on the grass and by weekend too the place is a dust bowl at least by the time stagecoach comes, you can bring chairs and sit comfortably at the event. 14 hours on your feet at Coachella is a long time even for young people.

I’ve always seen it as more of a landmark post for people on IG. It’s played out now and the newer generation will create the next trendy destination to demonstrate social proofing.

The Vegas Sphere is the reason. When U 2 performed and the new tech I knew it was going to blow Cochella out of the water. 2 billion dollars worh of new tech. People want to go to experience something new. Until that blows over if it ever blows over Cochella will still get the crowds but not like it used to be. I'm comming to the desert later this year and I will still support Cochella when it rolls around in 2025 . Gotta keep it alive. Each location is a different type of experience.

You can’t hold a huge indoor festival in the sphere like the size of Coachella. 😂 Coachella is like half a million people

1) It's expensive. 2) It's expensive to fly there if you're not in L.A. 3) It's expensive to stay near the festival grounds. 4) It's 2 hours from L.A. by car if you want to stay in L.A. and drive there each day. Summary: Too much $$$$$, and a PITA. No thanks. There are better ways to spend your concert dollars.

News anchors have money. Make it a news anchors only fest.

Don't know who any of these "artists" are . . . The prices? Hard pass. Lodging, premium rate - no. Restaurants? Overpriced and garbage. Too much $$$$$ for nothing.
