what's your thoughts now on the game???
I'm a Villa fan & let's not forget that Arsenal were on a downward spiral for the last few years underWenger,so to pin blame on Unai Emery is completely unfair. Unai wasn't given enough time or backing & the powers that be were ignoring his choices of players he wanted to bring in to the club. ie- Buying Pepe when Unai asked for Zaha etc. & the disrespectful bullshit about how he spoke english was completely childish & unwarranted,at Villa he is respected & loved, your loss has been our gain, the same goes for Emi Martinez who is clearly one of the best in world football, while you fuck around trying to find a better keeper nowadays, you already had him & fucked him about so much over 10 years, promised he'd be 1st choice next & then brought someone else in untill Emi asked for a transfer as Aston Villa wanted him & he could reach his potential, well he's done that & more, yet a large section of your fan base slag off Emi & Unai that never speak badly of Arsenal, infact in the postmatch interview Emi said he still loved your club. I would say it's sour grapes,as any intelligent people know that the 2 football people in question are far better than the ones you currently have in their respective positions...😂......... up the fuck'in Villa!!!
When I saw the result of the Liverpool game, my first reaction was great.
Villa applied and executed the game plan flawlessly.. Game over
Fatigue was a major factor in the 2nd half. Even Watkins stated that Villa could sense we were running out of steam. The team selection wasnt the greatest, but we wasted a lot of chances in the first half. Disappointing result, but its important to stick by our manager and players. Keep the faith, its not over yet. Lets get behind our boys against Bayern. We cant dwell too much on this result even though it was a pivotal moment in the title race. We have to look forward
The autopsy of this season will be marked by a few specific instances, namely the Xmas period slump. The Dubai resurgence the Porto fixtures the Man City Game Bayern Munich and Aston Villa.
Team selection, Liverpool losing and distracting our players, flat atmosphere in the second half, fans leaving early when we were 1-0 down with 10 minutes to go, players looking tired in the second half, Arteta's tactical naivety against Unai for the second game it all conspired against us last night but despite all that we are only 2 points behind with a better goal difference, 6 to go, remember Man-City dropped points in the Run-in last season
Only clear cut chance you had was Trossard. The others were not clear cut chances. Talk about Villa. They spread the ball in the second half and your press was found wanting. Then they started playing through the lines and clearly deserved the win. We hit the post and ball past other post. We hit cross bar then post and then we scored on the next two opportunities. We beat you twice. You thought you were unbeatable. But you were found out.
I find myself wondering if Villa dod anything well in this game or if its just all about Arsenal 'letting us win'.
Mikel cost us that Villa game.....he left Rice alone in midfield...played a poor Zinchenco and Jesus.
Should of been 4-0 up at half time 😂 oh the entitlement, you literally had one clear cut chance the rest was half chance, irony is villa came closest to scoring in the first half, second half you lot got schooled
The same thing has happened to Liverpool, you need to be clinical at this end of the season
Did the second half performance against Bayern Munich sway Arteta to play Zinchenko against Villa from the start??? We all heard the phrase "If it's not broke, don't fix it" I think Arteta is over thinking and complicating things for the players wrong end of the season???
It will be very difficult for Arsenal to win all the remaining games . Even if Arsenal did, I dont see City dropping points like this.
We needed to make squad changes because players are increasingly worn out and playing injured it’s that simple. That is the “why” of what you are saying but agree largely with your points
Villa were very good in that second half, simple
Bro the tactics were fine. Just missed opportunities in the first half. And second half pretty much everyone looked tired... ESPECIALLY our number 8.
It was off a corner thats why zinny was on the right
Smith rowe in an 8? Are you mad? What trash are you talking about
Unironically city still has to play spurs and they have a pretty good record against city
