Definitely Respectable. I have a buddy who is in a worst position; the shop has had his truck for 7 months now and they keep throwing junkyard motors in it that fail within 70 miles. I had frontend him the initial $4K, and couldn't for the life of me figure out why he was being so patient with them only to later find out, he had previously made three dummy trips to recover the unit only for it to fail each time. Thankfully he's acquired an attorney and hopefully he gets closure. I mention that to say communication is crucial, but you never know what people are struggling with behind the scenes. I have noticed. Over the past five years they are selectively getting parts to certain classes. I bought two log skidders twenty four years ago,outright. To me it seems like they save resources for those in huge debt with a big mort age. I have zero overhead and can out buy any job. The jobs will go to someone millions in debt. Its racketeering. I take no part,and watch. Lastly, they will sabotage a newer engine on you. The fascist are in charge and have been for years. Don't believe me,go buy or order log skidder tires or bearings, just call and ask. Get public pensions out of private businesses. That's the problem.

A lot of people know how hard and difficult it is to get a engine with low mileage and a warranty for a Mercedes or bmw. That's almost like putting your hand into a shark's mouth and hope to get it back out the same as it was before. If someone feels like stepping up and helping you to look for an engine in your price range with low mileage and a warranty would be good. My Sprinter is a 2018 and had 35k on it. I paid 32 from Herz. Also Enterprise has gently used vans coming off their rental programs and may offer warranties. Their nationwide search might be able to find what you need. The way it is now your old truck is not worth alot without a engine maybe 2k so this approach could be worth a try. Nothing beats failure like a TRY. STAY STRONG AND SAFE. BUBBA MAN

Lkq here in Bellingham Washington has a rebuilt with warranty for $11,300 +tax with warranty not sure what shipping to Florida would be it's included locally.

He messaged back and said the one he found was diesel after all not gas but call lkq for sure. If you can find one with them maybe your fleet owner will let you pick it up to save delivery. Best of luck! It's out there don't give up!

random thought, have you tried copart for a wrecked one? rollover or rear end or even burn, as long as the engine is good, could save a buttload. no warranty though

Have you talked to Jasper Engines? There's one in Orlando. Doing a Google search, there's Decima Engines in North Port, Florida Gulf Coast Auto in Englewood, and Franks Engine Rebuilding in Punta Gorda. I know nothing about those companies.

Been watching a while , and from this video I'm thinking the gas van is a total , take the 7 odd grand raised and deposit on another van , swallow the monthly payments and go diesel for longevity

Unfortunately I took over payments so I’m paying off the van and signed an agreement to take care of any damages while the van is in my care. I would never want someone to dip out on me with a contract like that. So I try to stay true to my word. But you are right diesel is the way to go and the way I will go on the next one. I learned many lessons on this one. I advise anyone reading this to not do it the way I did it lol

I’ve only been working for myself for 7 months. What business do you know after 7 months is balling? I paid off $6k my first 60 days and spent $8k in repairs the month prior to van breaking down. What dispatch coming you sign on with I'm from south Florida

I feel that the 4 cylinder gasoline engine is not strong enough for as hard as you run it and the weight that you carry. I think you’ll have the same problem later on. The diesel motors are built for heavy work loads. I drive for an LTL company and all the trucks have Cummings motors. Hope you get your van back soon, god bless.

I think you’re right. That’s why I’m not hauling heavy loads anymore. I’m doing ltl now too and none of it’s heavy. Maybe a full truck might have 1500 lbs in it. But I’m not doing the 3k lb loads anymore, not going out west anymore, etc thanks for chiming in and watching my friend. Stay safe out there
