It's also hard to walk on deep snow, but someone invented snow shoes and cross-country skis. I'll bet it can be done. Here's a thought. Make two long box-like skis each with a volume of about 23 gallons (90 liters) for a 150 lb (70kg) user. Use ski boots or something that keeps you shins nearly perpendicular to the skies. Because they are long and there are two of them, they essentially form a square version of the jar with pennies on top in the video, which is stable up to a certain angle. Then make ski poles with maybe 3 gallon (10 litter) floats on their ends that you can use for added stability and to push yourself through the water. You could also add ridges or "treads" to the skies to help them push the water better when you wanted to walk forward or backward. It wouldn't be like walking on land, but it wouldn't be too different maybe from skiing over deep snow. Each ski would only have to have dimensions of about 6' x 1'x 0.5' (2 x 0.3 x 0.15 meters).

@@ShlokParab probably they’re simple calculations all he did was divide a person’s weight by the weight of water per gallon and a quick volume calculation. People have tried to do this, it’s very hard to stand but I believe hypothetically there could be a ski shape that makes this feasible. (Definitely not a boxy shape like this guy suggested tho lmao). Something similar to ice skating how you push your feet off to the side to go forward maybe.

A great video and science experiment would be to apply your hydrophobic powder to a water slide on half and leave the other half natural and measure the difference of water spill off distance. There are many arguments online stating hydrophobic paint on a boats bottom would slow the boat instead of increasing its speed.

Actually, you could use DaVinci-esque water shoes to walk on water (I think), just by adding a counter-weight under water (like the keel of ship) to lower the center of mass, and adjusting the shape of the shoes a bit (like deep boots) to increase their buoyancy to compensate for the additional weight. Basically, a giant weighted test tube on each leg ...
