Why is it difficult to ride a bicycle? Hollowtech bottom bracket maintenance

Hi friends!
Every self-respecting cyclist, from time to time, asks the same question, "Why is my bike so hard to ride?"
I pedal as hard as I can, but my bike is so hard to get up to speed.
Even if I'm riding on a flat road and there is no headwind, my bike rides very hard. Today I will show you one secret that makes your bike slow.
If your bicycle bottom bracket is serviced in time, your bicycle will become faster.
This video communicates through mechanics, not words. Language barriers are irrelevant; presented as a DIY tutorial.
This video is designed to cater to the interests of cycling enthusiasts.
00:00 Servicing the bottom bracket hollowtech on a bicycle.
00:35 The shimano hollowtech bottom bracket doesn't rotate well.
00:57 How to clean a shimano bottom bracket.
02:52 The bearing in the bottom bracket doesn't rotate well.
03:33 Disassembly of the protective ring of the bicycle's bottom bracket.
04:57 How to remove the bearing retainer of the bicycle's bottom bracket.

Once the bearing races are worn and pitted, you can clean all day and it won't help. Those bottom brackets cost peanuts. Much better to replace it.

My labor rate is $100 an hour. These cost like $15-20 to replace. Not only is it not worth the time or trouble for the customer but it’s not worth it for the shop. Unless ceramic, sealed bearings get replaced.

Though I've already seen a similar comment, these BB's retail at 22€ in the shop where I work. The labour charge to perform such an overhaul would come out at more than that, plus the consumables. Then you have to factor in the likelihood that, by the time the customer brings it in, the bearing surfaces would be worn and pitted anyway, so the result would probably be marginal at best. When you were done, at the end of the video- you could hear that the surfaces were pitted and worn- I would have given a big thumbs down. That was certainly not something that we could warranty with any confidence. It's nice to recycle, but for a business this sort of repair is simply not economically viable. If a home mechanic wants to have a go at it, that is a different matter entirely. Same opinion exactly when you overhauled a 15€ VP sealed BB.

That also depends whether an inexpensive spare part is available or not. I did this offen for a refurbished used bicycle for sale. If the bearing was smooth yet I would clean it and renew with plenty of good grease . That way the BB is going to last a lew more years.

Nowy chiński suport hollowtech (ze standardowymi wymiennymi i tańszymi w zakupie łożyskami) wychodzi 40/50 zł, a taki "reanimowany" suport wytrzyma góra kilkaset km. Więc szkoda czasu na taką amatorkę. No ale ktoś powie... nie mam kasy. Ja powiem to sobie odpuść zamiast robić fuszerkę. Pozdrawiam.

To szeroka i ciekawa perspektywa.

Edit: No longer rides in creeks, reducing sand in clean BB, saving next BB maintenance for 2-3 weeks. Partial win. Saves at least $19 by not having to buy a new BB off Amazon - leaving billionaire owner looking for another customer to replace a non-repeat Buyer. Memo to BB manufacturer: Make BB Warning Sticker in CAPITOL Red letters to prevent others from following this guys method.
