Nothing is above criticism...nothing. When you find something that someone says is not allowed to be criticized, then you immediately do so and you keep doing so until there is no longer a reaction from that criticism. Once you've reached that point, then you can sit down and have a truly open discussion.

Under communism they got some meager help from the government and pensions were about 150$/mo, Now they get nothing, pensions are 25$/mo, the only reason why they have not starved yet is because next to their house is a field where they can grow their own food and half of the year they simply do not have electricity because they can't afford it.

Unbelievable. "Islam allows free speech" he says and then says "as long as there is proof and there is no maligning". So, there is no free speech at all- you are not allowed to criticise whatsoever. And the justification given is that Muslims love God and the prophet more than themselves. I'm interested about this. Was the prophet not just a mere mortal? Why does the prophet have this special veneration?

well, if it is not because of the prophets people wouldn't know religion. and they are the one who suffers a lot when spreading them. this is why the muslims love muhammad (pbuh), christians love jesus christ (pbuh), and the jews love moses (pbuh). and yes, prophets are mortal human beings. they are chosen people by God Almighty Himself so that He can spread his messages to human beings. long story short, what made the prophets so special to their own people is because they are the one who spread God's messages to them and suffers a lot when spreading the messages. i hope i can answer your question

If Muslims do not criticize other religions then others will also not criticize Islam. Muslims criticize other religions by calling them kafirs, criticizing other religion way of worship, so naturally people will also criticize Islam. So solution is Muslims should respect other religion and not criticize others faith, then others will also not criticize Islam. Fault is with Muslims. so I appeal all Muslim brothers and sisters respect others faith they will respect you, then there will be peace in the world.

***** It depends on what you say and how you say it. Bitching is calling someone a bloodthirsty war-monger and a paedophile. Understandable criticism is when you say he had many wars and that he had sex with a 9 year old and that you find that reprehensible. The first can't be debated since you are just expressing your emotional prejudice/opinion/taboo and the second can be debated. So really it depends on whether you express views with emotion and prejudice or with logic. There is nothing wrong with genuine criticism but simple bitchin is not useful.

Daniel Thompson I think humans should just learn to be a bit moral. Your idea that people should tolerate gratuitous insults is wrong. I am all for intellectual critique and criticism just as Naik said too. The problem is that many think that humiliating minorities is an acceptable way to go. If you want to foment hatred then of course that is a wonderful strategy. But if you valye a civilised world that it clearly isn't. It is also funny how people like you love the freedom to insult and humiliate others more than anything else You could learn from the phrase, 'turn the other cheek'

I love my child more then myself, if you criticize my child I'd want to know why, my sensitivities might provoke anger or will provoke me to walk away, at most devolve in to insults and cutting that person out of my life, never tho will I lay my hands on that person, promote legal action, murder, or promote my community to seek retribution because that is just some assholes opinion or perhaps its legitimate, point is that person has the right to criticise what ever is sacred to me, I've had my velues and my culture criticised numerous times but not once have I demanded force, rarely if ever have I even taken it personally I will debate them on it because I believe the values I live under will survive the criticism and if they don't its because I have been convinced they are wrong, make no mistake about it, values of liberty and freedom of speech and expression are cherished just as much by myself as Islam is to any Muslim, I would die in the name of such values as my forefathers generations did, but I will never strike a man for speaking against them, I will fight them with my words but I am not afraid of their criticism, having hurt feelings is no excuse for murder, prosecution, or physical force of any means.

So long as they are not threatening me, I have no reason to fear their words. Let them talk, my ideals, self confidence, and reputation of my mother are all stronger than anything anyone could say. If Islam is so true, let your faith and peace not be shaken by what others have to say or draw. You are better than that; act like it! I've tried looking in a number of Muslim videos hoping to see one response from a Muslim where they actually acknowledge that their religion isn't without fault. But all you get is the same mass responses of people choosing to ignore, defend and shutdown any dialogue that challenges their beliefs and systems. Their favourite line is 'Read the Quran' and 'Think'. That's their cop out to not awnser the questions directly, they dance around everything, just like the speaker in this video. He couldn't give a straight awnser, he confused his audience with analogies and misdirections towards why everyone and everything gets offended there for Islam is offended also. He knew the question wanted specifics, but proceeded to give a general awnser that left the listeners stupider than before they listened to him. Confirming that Islam isn't open to cristicism, cause it's afraid it may actually expose it's own hypocracies.

All right, let's concede that such is the reason why muslims are so sensitive to criticism of Islam. The actual question that I believe we need to address here, is why does this sensivity give Islam the right to stand above and censor all criticism of it? Why shouldn't it be treated as any other idea deserving of being challenged? Freedom of speech is not about avoiding talking ill of others' beliefs, quite the contrary, is about the right to question any and all ideas, and many muslims want to stand above that.

Dr zakir naik is right, even Indian Constitution permits freedom of speech but upto certain extent.. If Speech is unlimited then why Govt use Sedition charges against them.?? Then why in India Chanting Pakistan zindabad is crime?. Does violates freedom of speech.? Those who expect abusing a religion is freedom of speech them whay Abusing hindu gods is a punishable offence.??

Instead of acknowledging your response to criticism is excessive, he justifies your unethical response to criticism with this ridiculous explanation. Yet this is a man who says Jesus is not a God. A comment that would have gotten him burned at the stake in Europe 500 YEARS ago. This mentality right here is why so many people look at Islam as being backwards.

Zakir Naik said "freedom of speech is part of islam but we should draw a line what to said" while Mr Bean said "if you insult anybody just based by colour is wrong, but criticising anything based by argument is not -even if it is believed of religion, it is a fundamental freedom to everybody to criticised, saying you have freedom of speech as long as you not criticising religion is peculiar indeed #atheist now choosed who is more make sense

God has to exist for us to exist. If you look around you, you will realize that's everything around us is created by someone so why would the universe and humans be an exception?

Sure there is. Everything surrounding us is evidence. Everything from as tiny as an ant to as big as planet is working perfectly. Everything is in synchronisation to the smallest degree. If you look at an ant colony for example who taught them to behave in such a way? How do animals know what do. Instinct. It had to have been preprogrammed so to speak. The amazing machine that is the human body could not just come into existence randomly. Exactly. When you think this over you come to the question of who is this someone who created all this? And these "natural processes" How do they happen in such an amazing way. If I told you the watch on your wrist just built itself you would scoff at it. Then how do you think all this world just existed from nothing with no creator?

The bigbang was mentioned in the Qur'an thousand years ago. Who could have mentioned that? That the earth has a shape of an ostrich egg was mentioned in the Qur'an thousand years ago. If you look at an ostrich's egg it isn't perfect a sphere, so isn' the earth. Who could have mentioned that? The Qur'an tells us about biology, how the embryo is made and many things. Who could have mentioned that?
