Would love to watch pshero and greatwizard as a team playing tbc arenas.

So many comments about classic balance. Classic HAS class balance in this sense: every class has a spec that is insane at doing some particular important thing(s) in pvp (not necessarily every SPEC can be useful though). When people are focusing at how the shit specs suck, they start thinking this game has no class balance. It does, it just doesn’t have SPEC balance at all. 1) Arms Warriors aren’t great in 1v1 against pretty much any class (although it’s starting to become easier against rogues), but in BGs and group pvp they are crazy tank+burst aoe dps, essential in any serious comp. 2) A lot of specs of Rogues are good at 1v1’ing a lot of classes (not all) and are really good at defending in bgs and coordinating CC’s on efc in wsg and the best at solo capping AB bases. 3)Warlocks are insane at 1v1 and SL is unbeatable, and crazy at group pvp with cc and pure damage (but they can’t do the aoe a warrior or mage can do). 4) Frost mages dominate melee and can 1v1 a lot of classes but honestly have a hard time against druids, and in bgs they are really good at aoe/cc/single target/everything, just don’t get caught without ice barrier or mana shield 5) priests have shadow for 1v1 which is one of the best specs for duels but honestly not that insane in bgs compared to mages/locks because they don’t have as much cc and these other classes just do more damages. spriest is just really good at trading (they do good damage, but their main strength is trading because of bubble), and holy is the best pvp healers on horde side for bgs. 6) hunters are very strong 1v1 against all classes and are the best defenders in bgs, destroy clothies, but can’t deal with fear 7) shamans have ele which is unmatched in burst for bgs, but they have tough matchups in 1v1s against the strong classes 8) holy pallys are tanky healers, best bg healers in the game bar none, and ret is actually good against some classes like warriors in 1v1. 9) Druids are the best flag carriers/AB base spinners, and pretty much win all 1v1s except against the fear casters, shamans, and maybe fire mages.TLDR: if you’re focused on spec balance or one particular mode of pvp, there isn’t balance, but if you look at classes as a whole and all modes of pvp, this game is really well balanced, while maintaining DIFFERENT glaring strengths and weaknesses to each class, which creates a lot of interesting depth to the game. There’s always important things your class will be able to do better than other classes and important things they will do worse than other classes.

They get a group of people to queue with them and then those people stay in the starting area. Just the 2 duelers go outside to duel

Cheapshot deals no damage, and thus doesn't break the sap.

Rcki is correct. The damage comes from an auto attack after you cheap shot. If the rogue positions himself at a 90 degree angle from the enemy player, they can cheap shot safely without triggering the following auto attack and not break the sap.

CDL has been a pretty good example of why classic pvp is severely overrated. Classic is cool as heck, but balance wise, ehhh.

tried telling people this who are fanboys of vanilla lol. At least the way retail is set up, almost every class has a chance against each other. Vanilla balance was almost non existent because the devs at the time didn’t care/ have the know how about pvp. pve was always the focus

Not that much imo, although Vanilla’s RNG surely is bs. Rock Paper Scissors balance was a thing in virtually all expansions. Classes were definitely way better off in TBC in terms of abilities to work around and adapt to their opponents (and at their best in the second half of LK), but still, it isn’t really that bad in Vanilla. Rogue vs Frost mage duels weren’t much different in tbc, especially if you didn’t have shadowstep. What’s really annoying here in CDL is the abusive use of engineering items and special effect equipment pieces (trinkets, offhand ...). It’s just cheesing some matchups, and not what can happen in competitive PvP once Arena hits. The super long CC which can randomly break are also BS, but hey, that’s part of Vanilla’s charm.

What I find it's funny as rogues are only allowed three saps but mages can polymorph you all damn day till dr

@@Moonlakes He has them macro'd into his shit, its from the old private servers where you could do things like /roar when you casted fireballs/popped a trinket and you'd do the animation while casting. It doesn't work in classic, but it seems he kept it because it was always kind of his thing. I think this duel would have been far closer if pshero were playing a backstab spec with imp sprint and maybe even in this case imp kick even, I'm not sure about the rules of the CDL stuff, assuming you pick a spec and you're stuck with it through the bracket though..

I think all these mage players are here to watch the vid and thats also why the comment section is so toxic all of a sudden Good duels

Medallion, Gyrofree ice reflector, Improved sprint, Vanish. Pop all CDs and there's no way a rogue can't kill a mage. Sure, the 2nd round without CDs will be a whole lot different

He has to stay the same spec throughout the entire tournament so taking imp sprint, which is only really helpful for mages, isnt worth it.

You can’t use gouge if they aren’t in melee range. It’s a frost mage. He’s going to get distance on you. So against a good frost mage, yes, you’re going to have to pop your first blind. The thing is to put enough pressure on him after the reset to get him to pop his cold snap ice lock again before you pop your next blind.

lol 0 global cooldowns? what are you talking about? if you use instant spells youhave to wait for global cooldown for another. as a mage i agree tho. rogue mage duels are 50/50 if both have all cds. without cds mage just wins. so best of 3 this way is not really the play.

PShero ganking average joes that are unprepared out in the world all the time, looking good in his clips etc PShero playing against actuall pvpers, loses and gets really upset lol.
