Why is Good Alternative Fashion So Hard to Find ⁉️

Тәжірибелік нұсқаулар және стиль

Why is it so hard to find alternative clothing that is actually good quality??? Unfortunately it has a lot to do with the economics of the fashion industry... but who knows, maybe the industry will slowly start to change!

I am that goth person. The people at Wal-Mart are always so confused when I go in with my Lolita lifestyler sister. It is a sight.

people are mad about a 100 dollar dress? *laughs in plus size* edit: I'd just like to remind people that being plus size you often have VERY limited clothing options for things like underpants, trousers and basic t-shirts, let alone work or occasion clothing and it is in no way comparable to CHOOSING to dress in an alternative style or buy from indie brands - most "nice" or professional" clothes for folks over a certain size START at $50 per piece even at the low to mid end.

my biggest tips are: THRIFT!!! you can get a lot of stuff for cheap. do DIY. rip your pants, make a shirt out of fishnets, paint your jackets, make patches, etc. accessories (such as belts, chains, rings, etc) can make a HUGE difference in your outfit and make it a lot more outfit. lastly, learn alt makeup. instantly makes any fit look alt. no one looks at your shirt if you paint your face like a literal clown for example

sometimes normally-bland brands will sell "accent pieces" with normie outfits, and i just buy all of the accent pieces from all the brands...idk if this would work with other styles (I'm kinda soft goth sorta e-girl but more andro idfk) but it works for me... :)

Missguided does this! It's mostly joggers and bodycon dresses but every once it a while or if you really weed the search results you can find interesting things like faux leather jumpsuits, patterned cigarette pants and velvet dresses.

Me too! I just gave up labeling myself so I'm just wearing something in 'my style'. Just dont feel bad if you don't like trad goth style cuz I did and felt less goth. At the end of the day, you're goth only if you listen to the music

Goth brands used to care about quality (you can find Tripp or Lip Service clothes in thrift stores that aren't recent but still in perfect shape). It was assumed that you invested in pieces to look magnificent at the club while mixing and matching them, to keep them for a long time. But nowadays if you get clothes from brands like Killstar that focus on trends and new releases each week, obviously they will be just like the stuff from H&M : thin polyester and bad quality overall... They copied the fast fashion model even if on a smaller scale. But also back then there was less competition, so they had their niche's fidelity and didn't have to cut their prices/quality as much as brands do today.

Because alt fashion is mostly diy. Edit: if I saw some shirt or jeans that came already altered I would think it’s poser shit like most alternative people. DIY.
