I follow the opinion that the niqab isn’t obligatory but during times of fitnah it is better for you. I have been wearing the khimaar and abaya for a while and May Allah forgive me for saying I still think I get some unwanted attention from men so the next step for me would be the niqab. I think as women no matter what u do/wear, you’ll still get unwanted attention but I want to see if wearing the niqab would make a diff. Would love to stay in touch with u and share my journey if that’s something you’d be interested in, but I don’t know if I can directly message u on here :) x

But ngl they don’t really stay in place and aren’t as comfortable as what I imagine a real niqab would be like x

I am an American woman of Scottish decent. I always have considered myself a feminist hippie...my motto is live and let live. If a woman wants to wear burka or bikini, it's her right. I reverted to Islam just 5 months ago and began wearing hijab 3 months ago, and I love how I feel in hijab!! I now have friends that are at different levels in their relationship with Islam & Allah (swt). Some don't cover except in a masjid, and others wear a burka all the time. We all love and respect one another.

It is strange to see a fully covered person in Europe, just like it would be strange to see a woman wearing a tank top in the Middle East. Hijab (idk if that’s the name of just a scarf that covers hair and neck, but not face) is one thing, but burqa/niqab, it’s just odd to us, and it can make us feel uncomfortable, just like my shorts could make you feel uncomfortable. Europeans respect laws and customs when they travel to Muslim countries. It would be nice to have a normal conversation about this topic, and double standards. I respect your country/culture/religion, but if you come to Europe and bash everything that we do/wear, why are you even here?

I used to live in France like 10 years ago when i was like 8 or 9 years old, my mom always wore a hijab and she always gets hate and insulted just because of that, even tho i was little, i tried my best to protect her but i was only a child so it was not really effective. Alhamdulillah now i live in Algeria and it can't get better. But of course there are conditions that allow you to live amongst them, like if you can't afford it, or if you can't work it out to get out of that country and much more that you can search about. the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said: “I disown every Muslim who settles among the mushrikeen.” Narrated by Abu Dawood, 2645; classed as saheeh by al-Albaani in Saheeh Abi Dawood.

I'm not disagreeing with the Hadith but you're trying to imply this is the situation Muslims in Non-Muslim countries find themselves in and if they don't leave, they somehow become kafir. That's why I asked you about Algeria being a true Islamic land because afaik no such true land exists anywhere in the world in 2024! If you forcefully apply the Hadith you are quoting (in the way you are meaning it) onto Muslims, then technically speaking even you in Algeria would become a mushrik lol! This is why we need actual scholars to provide a holistic position on the matter instead of cherrypicking a Hadith and misapplying it without knowing the rest of our Deen. Akhi for your sake, don't ever do something like this again. Anything to do with takfir (making Muslims non-Muslims), just leave it (except for clear infractions that is public knowledge like for example saying zina is somehow halal when everyone knows it's not). You are not qualified and it has lead the ummah towards much turmoil in the past because of jahil people thinking their brothers and sisters are not actually their brothers and sister and thus their 🩸is now halal. I totally was not saying that every single muslim who lives amongst the disbelievers is a non-muslim, there is always excuses that give you a pass for something, just like Wudhu and Ramadan fasting! If you can't find water, then you are granted the pass to do Tyamum. so if a woman chooses to wear immodest clothes, they dont have a problem and think it her choice, but when a woman chooses to wear modest clothing they think that she's been forced to wear those clothes. Doesn't make sense

It’s not just modest clothing, it’s extreme clothing. You can’t even identify her as a human being. It would be like if someone walked out in public in lingerie. That’s just not appropriate in public. Modest doesn’t mean wear so much clothing that you are visually impaired and can’t even breathe properly. You can be modest without having to suffocate yourself.

This world is a test. Allah keeps testing us so we don't get lazy. The more you are tested, the bigger your reward. Furthermore, Allah never tests us beyond our capabilities so if it's something you are subjected to then it means you can bear it.

It’s so difficult to wear the hijab in the west imagine wearing the niqab or burka. I respect these sisters they’re absolutely courageous. May Allah make it easy for the sisters.

As a niqabi myself, I feel free and beautiful when I wear my abaya, knowing that I’m pleasing Allah, makes me so happy. I couldn’t care less about the eyes that stair. It’s crazy that no matter how a woman dresses, it’s seen as a problem, from being barely covered to being fully covered and anything in between, no one is ever satisfied. Sisters stay strong and true to yourself and your faith, and don’t let any none believer make you feel like you’re “trap”for something you have chosen to do.

So 25 years practicing Islam proudly covering proudly hijab jilbab and 10 years of niqab. The point of covering is to obey Allah, and to protect her from the portion of the male population that has little self control and bad intentions towards women, it's suppose to protect us and make life easier . But wearing niqab in a western country did anything but make me be unseen it made me more seen it did anything but make me more safe it made me way less safe, I was attacked many times, it did anything thing but give me more autonomy, I often was so depressed I didn't even want to go to the masjid, my family stopped talking to me, and Muslim men came at me more often, because Muslim men covet the highest degrees of modesty above all else! Just saying I respect this sisters devotion, May Allah grant her Jannah, but practicing Niqab is not safe in non Muslim lands based on my experience and the experiences of all other Muslim women I've known

Our fabric is usually light so we don’t suffer really. it looks suffocating but it’s quite breezy 😂 especially in the summer aha

My mother and all of my aunts and 90% of the women in my country wear like this or similar to this and no one forced them
