WHY IS AMRITSAR INDIA SO FASCINATING!?! ❤️🇮🇳❤️ Golden Temple, Food & More! | 197 Countries, 3 Kids

Hi, guys! In this video, we are taking you on a journey to the vibrant city of Amritsar located in the state of Punjab, in northern India.
Our adventure started as soon as we arrived at the Hyatt Regency Amritsar, where the staff warmly welcomed us with drinks and bindis!
After a quick check-in, we hurried upstairs to freshen up before dinner. We were beyond happy to see clean, spacious, elegant rooms that had all the amenities we needed for a comfortable stay. The girls even named their room the "Teen Hub."
In India, we had the pleasure to stay in awesome hotels, and we were excited to start exploring this one and see what it had to offer besides the comfortable rooms and the cool view! Hyatt Regency Amritsar did not disappoint! From the awesome pool to the incredible spa and fitness center, we were really impressed with our home away from home!
But before we go any further, let's talk about the app that keeps all our travels fun and enjoyable!
We present to you Geocaching and their Adventure Lab!
Geocaching is a great way to make traveling more fun and exciting. It adds an extra layer of adventure to our journey and takes us to places we might not have otherwise discovered. By using GPS coordinates and clues, geocaching encourages us to explore new areas and experience different cultures. Their Adventure Lab is a virtual treasure hunt where participants solve puzzles and answer questions at various locations, all while exploring the city.
One of the biggest advantages of geocaching is that it is a low-cost activity that can be done almost anywhere in the world. All you need is a GPS-enabled device, such as a smartphone, and access to the internet to search for caches in the area.

For dinner, we enjoyed a traditional Amritsar Thali, which consisted of various dishes, including butter chicken, chana masala, and dal makhani, served with rice, naan, and papad. The food was flavorful, and we savored every bite. The next day, we indulged in more delicious food for breakfast, including dosas, omelets, and fresh fruits.
One of our most moving experiences in Amritsar was visiting the Jallianwala Bagh Memorial. This public garden houses a memorial of national importance, established in memory of the hundreds of unarmed and innocent people killed or wounded when British troops fired on them on April 13, 1919. The memorial serves as a reminder of the sacrifices made by India's forefathers for the country's independence.
No visit to Amritsar is complete without the Golden Temple, a sacred Sikh shrine located in the heart of the city. The temple is an architectural marvel made of gold and marble, surrounded by a pool of water that reflects its beauty. One of the coolest things on this trip was seeing the massive community kitchen, where volunteers prepare and serve food to over 100,000 visitors and devotees every day.
We also gave a special offering on behalf of our New Zealand friend and witnessed the enormous queue of people waiting to see the holy book, Guru Granth Sahib, which is kept inside the temple and is considered the ultimate spiritual authority for the Sikh religion.
After the Golden Temple, we walked a bit through Old Town Amritsar, which was full of narrow lanes, old buildings, and bustling markets.
But our adventure in Amritsar didn’t end there. We ended up going to the famous Wagah border, where 60,000 people gather every single day for a ceremony between the Pakistan and India border. Stay tuned for this and more in our next video, and don’t forget to share and subscribe!

I hope you guys really had good time in Amritsar, it's the heart of Punjab, the real name of golden temple is "Darbar Sahib" or "Harminder sahib" golden temple is mostly used so people could easily remember it and it's easy to pronounce. We Sikhs beleive in humanity so golden temple feeds more than 1Lac people in a day irrespective their religion, color, place nothing matters and it's increases in weekends upto 2Lac.

The Guru never ever sleeps, it is time when the holy book is not displayed . the ceremony is called Sukh asan but at another place an other volume would be open and peoples would be reading. The holy book contains poetic hymns of the divine Gurus.. You are right, Golden temple is not the real name, it is the name given by the outsiders, the real name is Gurdwara Darbar Sahib ( literal meaning is the court of the Guru where people come to seek blessings , wash their sins, confession and learning ) AKA Harminder sahib. The volunteerness is called seva which one of the pillars of the Sikhi ( sometimes called sikhism)

The Golden Temple signifies the teachings of the Sikh Religion in articture and practice. It has FOUR entrances which signifies that ALL people from the four corners of humanity are equally welcome. The site is constructed below ground leve. The steps flowing down into the Sikh Golden Temple represents the need to be humble and reject blind ego. Remarkably Guru Arjan who constructed the site chose out of all the spiritual people including himself a Muslim Saint to lay the symbolic foundation stone to the Sikh Shrine. The Guru disregarded religion by name and labels alone and instead saw the light in all people regardless of religion, gender, caste or nation. At the Golden Temple is the World's biggest free community kitchen serving tens of thousands of people everyday. However every Sikh Temple across the globe serves free food as a religious obligation to anyone regardless if race, religion etc. This practise was started by the first Guru - Guru Nanak in rejection of class, faith and caste inequalities before the Golden Temple over 500 years ago and continues worldwide today. Within the Golden Temple is housed the Guru Granth Sahib where the Sikh teachings are contained. The Guru Granth Sahib not only containes works of the Sikh Guru's but uniquely also the divine revelations and spiritual writings of others from different backgrounds and castes. The Guru Granth Sahib opens with the basic concept of the One Universal, supreme Energy called by so many different names across humanity,. Ik oankar - One absolute being (God) Satnam - Eternal truth it's name Karta Purkh - Creator Nirbau - without fear Nirvair - without hate/ enmity Akal Murat - Deathless/timeless image Ajuni - Beyound birth and death Saibang - self existant Gurprasad - known by the Guru's Grace. In the words of the tenth Sikh Guru - Guru Gobind Singh "recognise the human race as ONE"

Lovely video.❤️ This sikh gurdwara is known as "Shri Darbar Sahib,Amritsar" or "Shri Harmandar Sahib,Amritsar". The "Golden Temple" name was actually given by the british rulers back in the time, and we sikhs find it a little offending, also because the present Hindu majority population of India and Nazi Indian govt.is dominating and wants to take control of all our sikh places by assimilating our faith into thiers and giving our gurdwaras the name similar to their own hindu temples. We would love if you know the gurdwara sahib by the actual historic name that the sikhs know it by,which was given by the Sikh Gurus(who actually built the gurdwaras across Punjab and other places),please. And tell your canadian friends the same name and the story behind it.😊 Thank you.🙏
