Why is a Volvo demo car better value than a new car?

Volvo dealerships will keep some new cars for their own use. These are usually Demo Cars which are held by managers or Loaner car which are loaned short term to service customers. These cars are then sold when they reach 6000 miles. This enables you to get a new car with a few miles on it at a better price and a better warranty

That's exactly what I did for my C40. Got a C40 Recharge Twin First Edition... it was the dealer's demo car... I love it.

You are not joking. We bought a 2023 XC 40 with 9K on it. I don't think it was a demo. Not sure about the history of it. But I know we saved a lot of money. Plus the extra warranty. Over the years we have always gotten the better deal buying a barely used vehicle.
