I have to say, here in the greater Detroit area most of the Harley Davidson guys are more laid back. I got compliments from them on my Kawasaki KZ550, and my Suzuki Intruder 800. Most of these compliments were at a Blessing of the Bikes events. Obviously a nicer crowd as a whole. There are definitely alot of Dbag riders out there that think their motorcycle is the best. That’s just childish. We should enjoy all aspects of motorcycling.

I was recently searching for a motorcycle, and while I've always leaned towards supersports over cruisers, my perspective changed when I sat on a supersport for the first time. I quickly realized that the more relaxed seating position is much more comfortable for me. I did consider a Harley, but I didn't feel like I fit into the Harley scene. Ended up getting a Honda Shadow 750 and I love it. Im so addicted to riding now. I've been subbed for almost 10 years...safe to say you were one of the people that inspired me to ride.

Cruisers are more expensive because they are larger bikes and use more materials and more expensive materials. You dont buy a cruiser for the speed, you buy it to cruise. I wouldnt take a harley over a mt07 in the twisties but on a highway ill take the harley everyday. I agree about the harley dealers and culture. They are maybe overpriced new but you can get some good deals on used harleys. Ive owned a mt07 and i liked it a lot but i couldnt ride it for longer than 30 minutes without hurting my butt, also the wind blows you around on it and it does not feel safe going over 80 mph on the highway. On the harley i can ride for hours without a problem. One of the big advantages of harleys are the customization options and aftermarket support. With harleys theres a million modification options and you can really make your bike unique whereas with the naked/street bikes, theres a lot less you can do to make your bike stand out. Lastly, the sound. The sound of older carb'd harleys cannot be matched by any japanese bike. I loved the sound of the mt07 with an exhaust but older harleys still sound better.

You couldn't give me a HD! When I was looking at buying my first bike I went into a Harley dealership wanting to look at the sportster and 883, they would not help me, they would not let me sit on any bikes, would not give me any prices because I was just shopping for a bike. Worst experience ever! I went down the road to the Kawasaki/Indian dealer and they welcomed me in let me sit on bikes, gave me prices, etc. I ended up a few months later going back and bought a Ninja 400.

$80 bux for a yamaha oil change? that's kinda insane tbh. i only changed the oil on a small bike and it's easy, but.. $300... lol, it was $40-70 for my old cars/trucks around there. the choppers are cool, i like any of them better than the Harleys that passed you. I'd rather ride a honda fury, my problem with that is you can't see the RPMs, idk what kinda bs is that lol.

Hey Cycle Cruza what kind of a cheap plastic armored shirt are you wearing. I had one that was mesh and I could get a sun tan through the mesh. Then a Deer ran out in front of me while I was going 55 MPH in broad daylight on a hot August day .. I took a 50 MPH slide down the road and ripped it all up. I got a bunch of road rash on my left forearm.. Got holes in my T-shirt underneath in the belly button area. Now I have a Know Mesh Armored shirt that has actual Anti-Abrasion mesh. I have never taken a slide in it but I assume it won't get ripped up like the one you are wearing would. I slid down the road feet first with one arm trapped under my stomach.. The hard plastic protected me in a couple of spots.. but that mesh isn't any more durable than a cotton T-shirt.. My Leather / Neoprene Gloves got shredded but they saved my hands.. After seeing how badly the Neoprene area's failed .. I wear all Leather gloves now with Carbon Fiber knuckles and wear pads .. If you take a slide in the dirt biker and skate boarders shirt you might end up having and F____ed up day .

Buying a motorcycle is a personal choice. A lot of factors come into play when choosing a bike. The type of riding that you like, the looks of the bike, the power, the sound, etc. Other people may try to convince you to buy the bike that they like or they ride, but in the end it’s your money you’re spending and it’s your choice. You know you bought the right bike when just by looking at it, makes you smile. It makes you smile when you sit on it, it gives you joy when you start the engine and you hear the sound. You forget all your problems when you ride it and gives younthe feeling that everything is ok. That’s how I feel when I ride my Harley, and I’m sure that’s how you feel when you ride your bike too. Just be happy with what you have. We are all bikers and we should all respect each other regardless of what we are riding. Ride safe everyone. Peace!

People either hate them or love them. I have no use for any of the modern day computer operated motorcycles. My 99 Harley Softail Custom Has been trouble free. In 67,000 miles I replaced one stator. The rest is just routine maintenance. My Harley looks like a motorcycle. But then, I am 83 years old and ride for a different reason than most. I am happy cruising the back roads around where I live. I started riding Harleys in 1955 when I was 14. My first one was a 1942 "45" flat head. So, my personal preference is older Harleys. No fuel injection or water cooling. I love the simplicity of the older less high tech machines. To each his own.

Before getting my last bike I went to Harley to look at a Sportster S. They had a few used, likely repoed, ones on the lot. They wanted 16 grand for one and wouldn't budge on price. Another thing that turned me off was how old everyone was there. I'm 47 and felt young compared to all the old heads in flip flops walking around the lot. They're gorgeous well built bikes that have been ruined by toxicity and greed.

Price=power ratio, maintenance is always a consideration, even brand new you'll be looking at oil changes and tune-ups. If you're like me I may need a new rear tire next season,.... just sayin. These are all things that WILL be cheaper if you go with Japanese. However on the other side you're looking at a company that has lasted, gotten better reliability, and a large after market. with what appears to be some new vision coming into their R/D department. all positive direction in my opinion

It was nice, sounded nice, but my crimson 2015 Yamaha Raider S 240 rear, rode better, and cost me $7250. I absolutely hate sport bike riding groups because everyone’s ego gets to them and they think they’re all of a sudden a superbike legend and have to show off and haul ass and do wheelies and all kinds of stuff like that, which is why i only ride sportbikes alone now.

I get where you are coming from, but hear my side. I have owned about 20 different bikes throughout my riding career, and longer than any of them, I have owned my Harley Davidson Sportster. It certainly is not the fastest, or best in any manner, but I love it because the way it feels. The thing I say about Harley Davidson's is it feels like you are riding a vintage car. It has a certain type of appeal that you just don't get from most modern bikes. They are also super easy to work on and have basically endless customization options. I recently upgraded to a 2014 Harley Dyna Street Bob and as far as bang for my buck, I am super happy with it. I do a lot of 2-up riding and longer distance riding as well, so it really fits my needs. Not to mention, I can modify it to be basically whatever I want. Now I do agree with what you are saying on the newer Harley's. I walk into a dealership and just shake my head at the prices. I'd never buy a new Harley! Leave that to the old guys lol. For me personally, I love the older Harleys and if you want to do some touring or just want a bike that feels like a good old fashion muscle car on 2 wheels, then the Harley definitely delivers on that. In regard to the culture, I do understand where you are coming from. There are definitely a lot of "tough guys" and wannabe's in the Harley culture. However, I have found that once you actually own a Harley, suddenly many of those people are some of the nicest people you'll ever meet. I broke down on the side of the road once on my Sportster (bad battery.) and was waiting for a tow truck for an hour. Within that hour, 3 different people stopped to make sure I was alright and see if they could help! All old dudes who were obviously Harley owners. I personally disagree with gatekeeping any motorcycle brands or styles, so I don't like how some Harley guys are like "It's Harley or Nothin!" but for me, I can have my Harley right next to my Honda, Yamaha, Ducati, etc. And it fits right in. It is definitely a niche bike, and I agree the culture can be kind of toxic. With that being said, there are toxic people in every type of riding (supermoto and sportbike dickheads too.) and the thing I like about Harley is it fits a certain niche of riding that I don't feel I really have gotten from any other brand. Great video though. I respect you putting your opinions out here like this. I am sure all the Harley boyz are gonna get real upset over this video LOL. Take care man and ride safe.

So much for knowledge . I'm too big for that small bike . Being 6 feet at well at times for many years, being 340, there was not enough room for me . Harley's are great, but junk at the same time . Now horsepower was never about these touring bikes . It was about torque due to carrying your payload . Now, I'm not a fan of the new motors . To this day, I'm an evolution fan or twin cam . I'm not a fan of street riding anymore . I prefer riding off roads these days . I'll travel still but major routes only and secondary roads . So their more to do and things to explore . What's really going on today ? How much trouble can one get into riding respectfully even on well you know . Super mottos are cool but not set up for the terrain I want to be in . Like this for instance . I now have a 1990 350s and it's nothing but fun . It's big it's power on the street decent enough but it shines in the woods . It's light at 280 . With a 6speed so you can play with the gearing more . And just is an incredible trail bike . Yeah the suspension will do the job but if speed and jumping more will inquire a better suspension . But it's comfortable for what it is as well . My last bike gonna be a 650L or a DR650 . My little DR350s going nowhere . I'll give up a little performance for reliability all day long . Especially in the woods . KTM/HUSKY/450L/ and bikes of these nature , these beasts are fun but you can't expect long life without some issues . Give me a lazier motor . I'm not racing anyways . Dirt bikes are in a class of their own . But put a tune on the 650L and a better carb you will have a off road horse without a doubt . More than enough power on the bottom and mids . If you buy a Harley, you are required to buy a doad with it.

I'll never buy 1 cuz of my local Harley dealer had the WORST salesperson I've ever meet. I had every intention of buying a new bike from em, but that sales rep legit was on the floor laughing cuz I was wearing full gear and a Alpinestar airbag vest. All awhile the jerk was wearing shorts where you could clearly see his road rash on his legs from the street cheese grating his legs from a lowside. I legit turned into a Karen and told his boss that guy just lost you a 30k or more sale. Honestly I wonder how annoyed Bill Harley and the Davidson brothers would be with the state of Harley Davidson now.

HD: Yesterday's technology today at tomorrow's prices. In 2008 when I was looking at getting my first bike I wanted a 883 (guess how that conversation went with the dealer) end up on at Honda and on a CBR600RR. 2023 was the first time I rode a HD because a friend wanted me to try a 'real man's bike' and not a 'toy'. The handling sucked but the torque was good. I will never own a HD because they do not cater to my riding style. Also ever snobby rider I have ever meet were HD riders. Even the superbike riders were nice and welcoming. Motorcyclists want to have fun and enjoy the road, HD riders want to look down people or so they make it seem.

i own a few bikes, a 75 kaw 900, bored, sleeved, and tuned, with a schnitz racing head, and 44mm lectron carbs. 130mph+, 9.6sec, 1/4 mile. then i have an 87 and an 89 vt1100cc shadows, and my daily ride is a 2012 hd fatboy with a 103b, 6sp. in 08 i bought a 1200 sporty, put big jets in the carb, and yes, i heard i was riding a girls bike. i laughed and said really, here is my title, lets see your title, and i'll beat you stop light to stop light, never a taker. next was an 07 softail custom, 96cid, 6sp. gave it back, didnt ride well, and was under powered. the sporty got to 100+ faster than this fatboy, but you sit well, rides well, pretty to look at, and an attention getter. nothing wrong with a sporty, the s series is supposed to be fast. i have one issue many riders dont have. i'm 6'5 i dwarf most motorcycles.
