Great video! Started grinding two months ago and I am killing it now. I have one on my Bobcat and it does a beautiful job! It is a beast! Every customer has said WOW when I am done. I picked up two big jobs again today. I have never advertise other than one time on Facebook. Thanks for all your advice. I have learned a ton from you. It is sad that I am the top paid teacher in my district and I can make more money in a week stump grinding than a month teaching.

Great video. I agree that the machine compacts the grindings, especially when wet which makes it difficult to rake out because it's basically stuck to the ground. I'd not thought about regrinding the topmost part while reversing to loosen the compacted grindings. Well done, thanks for sharing. I learned something new today. God bless.

That's one of the biggest thing people around my area try saying is that are machines have wheels so no damage is done to the lawn. thank you for showing that tracks don't do damage either. great video and nice tip a quick easy way to fluff up the soil.

Another technique I like to use for the compacted chips/soil is a good strong backpack blower. As long as the dirt content is relatively low the blower does a really nice job of dressing up the edges. I always try to uncover existing buried lawn and get all the chips back inside my disturbed area when possible.

Ok your first belt to look at will be the motor or clutch side belt ( you can take the cover off this side and watch the belt engage and run the belt on the cutter wheel side is the one on the same side as the key start on the engine and is tied to the skirts for the chip protection so it can not be run with the cover off

Seeing how you have used both over the years, what machine would you recommend a bandit or a vermeer brother. I have yet to grind a stump so I didn't know about dressing/fluffing the chips and dirt with the grinder... great information, makes perfect sense. I did notice the new model number being SG40 but yet to see pricing. In my opinion, that's (SG40 or slightly used ZT1844) the machine to start with if it's in the low 20's. I have a full time good job and I want to start grinding part time. I'm going to price them and see what they're asking. Also, we have a dealer here in Arkansas so that's good. Where do you buy your belts? '68 Camaro.

I have an sg40 and I am thinking it has the same cutter wheel set up as yours. I was wondering if I have to just use the 926-ws2 the 2 sided tooth or can I use the 926-ws with the 3 sides? Also the hose coming from the bottom hydraulic pump to the manifold vibrates kind of aggressive while at low idle moving the machine with the track levers (makes a buzzing noise when making contact with the touching hoses). Just wondering if this is typical for these machines? Just being that it does have pretty basic hydraulic system.

@@mustangrebuilder Thanks for the suggestion on the SG40. Looking at their website, that appeared to be the current production machine. Enjoying your video's. Good amounts of details, down to earth practical advice. I am close to retiring from my day job. I turned 65 this past September. But I don't want to sit at home and dust the ceiling fans when I retire. And being a farm boy, I enjoy running machinery. So, I am going to look for info on the SG40, the other unit I am thinking about this the Barretto SG37. The Barretto SG30 is a good machine, but the SG37 is the higher horsepower machine. I'll have a chance on Wed & Thurs this week to try out the SG37. I am doing some neighborhood Derecho storm damage cleanup. Well I know they suck about the warranty and thats why I keep my old machine going ,even the factory engineer told me to keep it due to the simple design and EPA requirements on engine and no electronics and now you know why I make these videos, even my ZT1844 breaks and they don't want to confess to a design problem.

Thanks for replying back i was a climber for 20 yrs and had my knees replaced and I like tree work so I bought a used 2012. 2450 bandit stump grinder for $17000 had it 2 months blew motor cost $10,500 for a new one then it got costly replacing belts and barriers all the time and by now I've been in business 2 yrs and I've been doing good so I figured if I bought a new stump grinder I would save a fortune in repairs boy was I wrong but in the when the machine is not broken down I love it I like working for myself i make a pretty good living just wished the machine would start every time I turned the key So do you still recommend buying the tz188 or the newer model

Great video my man! I work for the fire department, i work 48 and off 96. I was thinking about buying a new bandit like yours but on one of your videos you stated to buy used. I found a 2022 bandit for 20K with only 60 hours, im new to all of these and just want to do it on my time off. I’ve learned a lot from your videos and just had one question, how do you charge on the work you do? Thanks in advance
