Hey mint, I have been using mint for a year and you guys have been great, you guys have been updating with features like wifi calling and also you guys increased the data limits. Your coverage was great but recently from more than two months I am facing a weird issue where when other people call me, it is not even registering a call and I searched online and got to know it's a wide spread issue. I am posting it here so you guys can be aware of this issue and solve this as early as possible. I want you guys to succeed and provide a great competition to the big carrier provider charging 4 times for the same service.

@@brandon_nope The speeds aren't as fast as native Verizon, ever. But for my use case they are fine. I get very close to what I did before with Verizon, but there is some "deprioritization " for sure. But I don't find it to be excessive or an issue. I'm sure mileage will vary of course. Limited types of Android phones are able to be activated. But everything iPhone SE and newer will work just fine. Wi-Fi calling is hit and miss. Works on iPhone, but very few Android phones. Absolutely no stores and no one to call for support. You can chat with support and that's it. But for me, not been an issue and I don't really care. That's about it.

I really enjoy Fi I’ve used it on and off for a few years and just came back when they started their unlimited plan and I’ve never had this level of saturated coverage before very rarely do I encounter slow spots at least Google can do some things right
Really liked mint for the time that I had it, but t-mobile coverage wasn't great so I switched to redpocket and I've been generally happy with it if you want a carrier based on att.
I’m in this same boat. My mom has been charging me $50 a month for att unlimited from a family plan for years. Mint has done a good job of branding and separating themselves from the other prepaid phone plans. Mint has appealed to young professionals and tech enthusiasts in a way that their competitors have never even attempted.

@savleelxine
3 жыл бұрын
@@MaxineEveDark not entirely. Carriers can share their towers but they can also control how much they share. They own it. And most of the carriers own their “third party” carriers like Cricket. Cricket is owned by AT&T, Verizon owns Straight Talk, T-Mobile owns MetroPCS and Sprint owned Boost (legally still does) and the big carriers can control the coverage and speeds you get at their budget companies to force you to want to be with a premium service like themselves. Sales scheme.
Switched to Mint last summer. Did the free trial, and then paid for a whole years coverage. Very happy with it, and it’s kinda nice not to have that $100/month Verizon bill.
Heard some good things about mint, I might switch eventually.
I highly recommend Visible Mobile, this one piggy backs off of Verizon. It’s unlimited talk and text and data as well, it doesn’t cap your internet at all. It has unlimited hotspot 5mgb. It doesn’t stream video at standard definition though but honestly? Not that big of a deal for me. 40 a month. You can join a party which is like a family plan but with random people lowering your payment to 25.
I just use Boost. 50$ and I never have to worry about data. I use a lot of data throughout the day when I’m out of wifi. So I just went with the unlimited plan. Sometimes I’ll find a dead spot but it’s rare where I normally go.
I know you like mint but you talked about wishing they had unlimited you could at joining a Visible Party Plan it’s $25 per month for unlimited and it runs off the Verizon network

AT&T charges ~40$/month for “smartphone service”, possibly for voicemail, does mint have such thing?
As an MVNO mint doesn't get access to everything on the Tmobile network. The Calls and Texts are the same. But data is limited as they only will work on selected towers. I feel like if you are going to bring up the coverage understand you are getting what you pay for.

How widespread is the LTE covered? I am in Northern California and currently only Verizon has good LTE up here
As a Mint mobile user for about 8 months I'm pretty happy about it. The coverage for the area I'm in is great and I like the updated app. I opted to use it for the(3 Gig) 3 month plan first to see how I would like it first and then I went for the (8 Gig) 6 month plan and then I just recently stepped it up to 12 months which gives the best savings. Now if you have internet at home I think 8 gigs is more than enough. I'm not always out and about a whole lot being on my phone unless I'm waiting for someone to drop off and I want to watch some KZread videos then it'll eat up some but you should still be good on data. But if you don't have internet then prepaid plans that don't have unlimited data isn't a good choice. Be nice if Mint does do a so called unlimited data plan which technically it isn't. But basically if your a home body a 3 gig plan you can get by as well. I had metro pcs and used 3 gig plan and only went over 3 gigs maybe twice.
Best deal is at cricket wireless, 4 unlimited messages and calls lines, 22gb data each, $100 a month, no contracts.

Hey man, are you still using Mint? If so, how's it holding up? What area did you use this Network?
I have been using Mint for over 2 years and it's been amazing
I joined Mint in August 2019. It has been a huge financial relief. As a former Metro-PC customer, I save $300 a year based on my old billing model. As a father of two, that extra money comes in handy. As far as network performance is concerned, I personally have noticed no difference overall. Thanks for sharing your experience as well.
I made the switch in august and I’m so happy I did.
Drew, why didn't you go for a Verizon MVNO. I'm with US Mobile and their super LTE plan is on Verizon's network. I pay 60 bucks a month for unlimited with no speed restrictions and no caps on hotspot usage as well as no throttling on video resolution. Forgot to mention their non unlimited plans are also good to.
That’s so crazy I just got mint
I tried mint mobile in my area and my calls would just drop when on the phone with people. Coverage was alright but not my favorite. Sprint works better for me. Plus I was on my parents plan when I was younger they had sprint and I had my phone with them into I was 18 then got my own sprint account and I have had them for 2 years now on my own account not counting my parents plan. All fees included and unlimited hotspot. Runs on Verizon 's LTE network specifically. No 5G, no fallback to 3G or 2G. Works great for me.
I got Mint back when I got my OnePlus 7 Pro right when it came out. Mint is great!
Your LTE at your house is faster than my house’s internet
Best move I’ve ever made with a phone service. ❤️Mint Mobile
Can you use a mint mobile sim card using a simple mobile phone?
In Libya 🇱🇾 you can get 80GB for 18$ and it’s valid for 2 months, and also in case you used up the whole package before it expires you can renew it whenever you want. And the speed is 80Mbps 4G+.
I hope you have a better experience w/ Mint mobile than I did. I live in DFW, and the service here was horrible. I have since switched to Visible and only pay $25 a month for an unlimited plan, and still on Verizon’s network.
I recently switched to Verizon from Straight Talk and I really love it so far!
i had tmobile and my dad got mint, sometimes my phone could not call his because of no signal and they both supposedly use same towers so i suppose some access towers more efficiently and clearly
in tunisia there are phone carriers and wofi carriers but most of the phone carriers do wifi plan but its just a hotspot device ill be talking sbout the phone carriers for phones not wifi to make phone calls or texts or to pay for data thers not a bill you buy a sort of a ticker or a card like a google play card (1dtfor phone costs 1.25dt abt $0.4 and 5dt is about 5.6dt abt $1.8) you dial up a number then ypu put the code on that card and boom you can call and pay for data and all (200mo costs 1dt for my carrier but prices slightly differ) . most of the carriers offer unlimited calling between certain numbers but idk a lot about them
I was in a similar situation where I was just piggy-backing off my parents plan. Then I started doing some research into it, and found a 25$/month pre-paid plan with ATT that I really liked. It's only for 8 gigs of data a month, but I reckon I only use about 2-4 gigs every month on average. I never watch media on my phone, but I listen to Spotify while biking. So I need 'some' data. And ironically, the first month just for shits and giggles I pushed it over the cap to where they purposely slow it down, and it still streamed Spotify without any lag or hiccups. So basically, it's unlimited data for me. ;)
I have Verizon and service is awesome, lol on family plan so it’s cheaper but I stick with the unlimited plan. Like you said it depends on the person and for me there’s no WiFi at home and even here at my university the WiFi tweaks I I use hotspot with iPad and LTE a lot
Is your shirt a VGA port or an AirPower?
Have a spare phone, put it on mint, $20/8GB a month, for three months and got three months free, equates out to $10 a month for 6 months. The only problem I have with it is, where I live, T mobile has spotty to no coverage. It won’t work for me at home but in town it’s fine. Won’t switch to a service I can’t use at home.
I tried Mint about three years ago when I heard it mentioned on the Clark Howard show. I ONLY had service when I was really near an interstate or very spotty any where else. The coverage maps are total BS!. I had to drive three miles from my house to a very specific, very small area that had coverage if I needed to make a call. The customer service was non existent. There for a while I feared not being able to port my number away from them (the number I had for fifteen or so years). As I remember, I had to operate off of a new phone number from straight talk for about 60 days before I could get my old phone number back from Mint. I, too, prepaid for a chunk of service. I knew within a couple of days it was totally useless to me. Since there was NO WAY to talk to any one and they never returned emails (except for auto responders) I had to go through my bank to charge back the service. It took several months but my bank finally reversed the charges and credited my account. Try mint Mobile at your own peril.
those are 3G speeds... i get that on my unlimited data plan that is cupped, here normal 4G(not 4G+) is over 46Mbps, 4G+ is over 112Mbps how slow are the speeds in the states?
I have a mint mobile plan, and it is really great!
Total Wireless and Visible Wireless are 2 MVNO providers powered by Verizon towers.
Mint has been a good option for me. I paid $75 for the sim then 150 every 6 months for first 5gb of HS data. A year later they upped it to 8gb. Still have the unlimited talk and text. Bought my phone outright so no finance webs. Agreed with.
Verizon does offer prepaid tablets but hilariously enough if you look for the single line plan from postpaid service and choose the tablet as the device there is an option for a $15 1GB tablet plan which you have to manually select that is discounted to $10 with auto pay and iPads are frequently discounted by Verizon. The overages cost $10 per 1GB.
Thanks for the video. As of now I am on metro but that will change on my next bill cycle. For $15 a month I mean seriously you cannot beat that.
I actually have 2 Sim Cards with Mintmobile. First one is the 8gb for 3 months deal that Mint added 3 free months. That's good through April. I also have that 12gb 3 month $45 deal. It expires in February. The 8gb deal with 3 free months is no longer available. Mint usually drops whatever special deal they have after its over.
I almost only use data because i only have wi fi at my hime and im a student . So now checking my bundle , for 5 dollars i hace 100+ Gb of data and i usually use it . Those prices in US are so big
So were can we get mint mobile? So tired of at&t
My wife and I use Mint too! We have had no problems and are loving how much money we're saving! Glad to see one of my favorite KZreadrs is in the club as well!

It's been 6 months. Have you changed your mind or are you still with Mint?

@@andreslozano901 Yep! We're up for our yearly renewal in September and will renew for another year.
iPhone 5 was my first phone too. It was the newest iPhone, I bought it when I was 16.
FINIALLY!! I've had it for two years and no know need what it was. It's getting popular!!
Verizon has safety mode for every new shared plan which is the same thing no overage just slow down.
Pretty excited to be back with a small carrier, I get my new phone and plan in a week. Ended up on ATT due to ex and being on multiple family plan thing, shes gones, plans gones. I used to use Ting and I was going to use them again. I have nothing bad to say about Ting, but Mint seemed like an even better deal. I can say from my roughly 5 years with Ting, they were the best company I've done business with from a subscription technology standpoint. Looking forward to getting onto Mint. Plus Ryan Reynolds is awesome lol
I have TMobile and when they slow it down to 128kbps it is usually more like 2mbps, so since mint uses TMobile I think you are ok
I used to use Tracfone, went with AT&T and am now with Verizon. Tracfone was m perfect for me then, Verizon works well for me now. AT&T was a pain.
Im traveling through the USA now and using Tmobile Unlimited for only 50 Dollars. Works pretty well as well

Not running into a lot of deadspots like so many claim T-Mobile has everywhere?
Best Buy had 12mo 3GB plan on sale this 4th of July weekend for $150, and i used a couple Best Buy gift cards lying around and the Discover Card 5% cash back on PayPal at checkout. Came out to around $104 including tax. Beats $64 a month on VZ for 5GB rollover. I barely use any data nowadays thanks to coronavirus.
What network is Mint using for there service?
You tryna tell me you’re 21
Same here, I love Mint. The only issue I have had is getting WiFi calling to work. Not a deal breaker but wish I could get it working.
TMobile over 55 plan seems to work well for my friend and I .
Where as here in the Uk 🇬🇧 I get 45-60mbps downloads, paying £17 a month for 50GB of data 👍🏼 with EE of course (kept my iPhone XS Max from last year so just a sim plan)
0:22 How ironic, I am watching this on an iPhone 5 while my XS is charging, no joke!
