Why I Stopped YouTube & What's Next - An Honest Life Update for My Followers
So I haven't uploaded in well over 6 months... Here's where I'm at.
I'm moving away from ADHD-specific content for the foreseeable future. However, many of my future topics (including this) can always be related to the matter in some way.

I get where you are coming from and appreciate the message and honesty. I'm glad that you are growing and expanding. This is a new stage of your life and that comes with relocating organising and making space for new things. I think that this is exciting! I came here for your Adhd vids but I am staying because of the heart, care, time, energy and enthusiasm you put into it. So if you're now you want to talk more about other topics and you're still doing it with all the above, I'm here to listen you rant away! Take care! Speak soon! Hugs!

I'm new to your channel! 😄 Hi! I found you trying to learn about ADHD because of a family member. I'm also Neurodivergent and so I applaud you for working on authenticity! I look forward to your new stuff. 👏😊

Stuart, I watched ur video about adhd, your story was EXACTLY same what I had and still having, like a copy of it, I used same escitalopram and had absolutely same effect. Im living in a country where there is NO treatment for Adhd so I really really need ur assistance, how can I reach u if its possible?… Thanks
You are one of the reasons I felt validated after getting diagnosed with ADHD. Good luck brother
Thats really great idea Stuart, at some point every creative person wants to evolve and try new avenues. Doing different things with passion is far better choice in the long run than doing things on autopilot zombie mode just for the views/profit.

@@topman.9646 wow thank you man for your nice and kind comment! :)
Excited to see the new content, ADHD or not doesn’t matter too much.
I'm not disappointed, in fact I'm excited. Thank you for your honesty, I'm sure most of us here will respect your decision and follow your new content. Afterall, it's a journey.. All the best
Sounds great! For someone who has just been diagnosed with ADHD combined and struggling still to figure my stuff out, it's inspiring to see you having enough mastery of your ADHD to want to move on to new topics instead of continuing talking about it. I would definitely be here for both content, the old and new. I think you'll lose some people but I don't think it should hold you back!
You do you and make no apologies for it. It's your life, live it.
Mental Wellness Mastery. Boom. Done. Wait… Wellness Mastery. Boom done. Wellness Mastery might be better because then you can do mental and physical wellness videos. Let’s face it, yous gots ADHD and you know dang well that you’re gonna end up wanting to do physical wellness videos at some point. :) Whats nice about doing mental (or mental and physical) wellness videos is that you can pepper in ADHD videos whenever an ADHD video idea hits you… which it will. Another nice thing about this “change” is that pretty much any wellness topic can be beneficial to those with ADHD. Transitioning from an ADHD channel to a mental wellness channel isn’t like changing from ADHD channel to a Ford Pinto repair channel. Current subscribers should stick around because, like I said earlier, any wellness topic will be beneficial to ADHDers. Am I still talking?

I so much connect with what you're saying. I started my channel last year, uploaded a bunch of videos on personality types and I found myself not wanting to do it anymore. So I'm preparing a massive turn for my channel. I think we, ADD (and ADHD) are highly creative, and niching down our channels to something so particular can only work for a period of time because we want to explore more. And I'm learning that that's totally fine as well :) Congrats on your decisions, sounds great!

Stuart. You are an amazing person. You are appreciated, you have everything you need. God has a lot in store for you. This is coming from someone who has struggled and you helped me. thank you
Hi! I'm really looking forward to your new content. I relate in that there's only so much you can learn/say about ADHD and then it becomes old hat. But i'd love more content about random stuff, by people with adhd. And wellness/mental health is a huge part of life for anyone, espeically ADHD people.
Hey man, first time commenting, and just wanted to say thanks for all your great content so far, and to be honest, I'm glad you're moving into a new space for your own sake. I actually think there is a limit to the amount of content that KZreadrs can make on specialist subjects like this, and it's very wise to diversify, so you aren't rehashing topics for the sake of it, or flogging a dead horse. I think it detrimentally waters down channels and can make them less useful to keep grinding on past the point where passion has faded. It's also a bit like if you had a library that only had the best books on a specific subject you were interested in, versus a library which had every single book on the subject. I know which would be most helpful, given that nobody has the time to read (or in this case watch) everything, you value the highest quality information with the most passion behind it. I don't think this is a disappointing move because your back catalog of content is very impressive, and very helpful, and we can always dive into that for some great advice. I'm glad you're doing so well in your life, and it's good to hear you've got a new plan. I was definitely one of those people a bit worried about how you were doing, as I got into your channel and found your honesty and groundedness very refreshing, you're not putting on a character, and I think that makes your stuff more relatable, so it's really great to hear you've got this new path, and that the break was for good reasons as opposed to bad reasons. Rather than saying "Keep it up!" I'll say that I hope you continue to live by your own compass and do what works for you, and only make things you feel passionate about, because viewers like us benefit when voices of creators are genuine.

Well said R.
My fav video from you was the one you did about feeling that it’s better for you to stay single rather than in a relationship, id love to see more from you about that type of stuff and other general social life type stuff. That will obv have some connection to adhd stuff because you would talk about your experience but that adhd connection doesnt have to be explicit, I would probably relate to your perspective without needing it to be just within an adhd context.
This is my favourite video of yours so far, actually. Totally understand where you're coming from. 6 years ago, I had a channel about Weight Loss Surgery and some lovely followers. But after 2 years, it wasn't a particularly defining aspect of my life. And so I decided to make all the videos private. It's now just a little personal archive documenting a chapter of my life. I had a video chat session with yourself a while back - and since then I got my shit together, got married and went back to work. Remember kids, It's just low dopamine. There's way more to us than that. Looking forward to seeing what you do next. X

Hey thanks for chiming in!
I just found you last night and I feel like you speak my inner thoughts aloud. I actually started crying during one of your videos about staying single because I’ve felt and said the exact same things since I was a teenager. Minimalism and simplifying my life with processes helped a lot.
Just learned about your channel a month ago. Came for the adhd, inattentive type content, stayed for the clear, concise, objective, real person. Put out whatever content you want!
Heyo, its great to see that you are alive and well. A few words here to express my enormous thanks for all the content you have put out previously. Your videos have been a huge help in my ADHD journey and I will be forever grateful to you for that. After all you have already done, I can totally understand where you're coming from. Thank you for the honest update, I am excited to see what you will be sharing in the future and will be looking forward to it. Take care
I first came across your channel last August and my ADHD assessment is (finally) less than 10 days away. Just wanted to say thanks, if I'd never seen your videos I may not be on the brink of my life being changed for the better. Whatever you do next, best of luck with it mate
As others have mentioned similarly, I recently discovered I have Inattentive ADHD. Your vids definitely helped me accept the diagnosis that my brain be tweakin 😐. I do agree; however, that there's literally only so much to cover on the topic of ADHD. After a weeks worth of deep diving all over youtube and the internet there really isn't anything new on the topic. Best,
I was just diagnosed with inattentive ADHD this past Monday. Your content has helped me learn more about it, and I thank you for that. I am 37, and just got diagnosed. I was just diagnosed with Autism about a year and a half ago. I wish I knew that I had these when I was younger. Maybe I would've been able to finish high school if I had. I'm cool with whatever content that you need to put out. There is a lot of mental health things to cover, that ADHD can accompany. I have severe social anxiety. If you think of an ADHD topic to talk about, and choose to make a video on it, cool. If not, that's cool too. You do what you need to do for your own happiness dude.
This is so weird. I was just wondering during this mornings drive whatever happened to you.🤯 Sounds about right, changing to a mental health focus channel. Given the world's current atmosphere this makes sense. Good to hear from you and glad you took this break to regroup. Looking forward, onward and upward❣
Congrats on moving out! I understand the whole “losing passion/interest” thing. I started Twitch streaming over a year ago and I put so much effort into growing my stream and I loved it. After a year now, I’ve been losing interest in it and was thinking about quitting now. I’m grateful for all the supporters and memories I made, but it’s just not a true passion of mine. It’s not something I care to grow into a long term career or put all my time into (as opposed to my life long passion of graphic design). Whatever you want to do, we will support you! Don’t force yourself to do something you don’t wanna do, especially if it’s supposed to be something you do for fun or cus you enjoy it.
i only just found your channel recently.. at 41 i only just learned that i have adhd - you can imagine, as someone also diagnosed as an adult, its bittersweet finding a diagnosis that explains everything yet learning that you've been working so hard your whole life just to break even when it could have been easier. ive binged your content and it has really helped. i will miss the adhd content, however it gives me some hope that you are in a place where you're so unaffected that you don't even relate to it anymore. at the moment it is kind of overwhelming for me, this has been my normal for my whole life. lol it has been a generational normal - my mother only just got diagnosed at 59 and now my kids are being seen with a view to diagnosis - i just assumed i was a fuck up this entire time and that i failed my kids. someone with a lot of potential who has gotten to the point where ill never realise it, someone doomed to follow her mothers fate, someone whose natural age related mental decline has increasingly affected her ability to regulate the symptoms of her adhd and emotional regulation. someone whose shitty parenting has raised three wonderful beautiful, emotional, impulsive, distracted daydreamers. how do you recognise there is a problem when everyone close to you is exactly like you? how do you refocus your kids on their chores or their homework when you know that their procrastination and inattentiveness comes from you? with my shiny new diagnosis i hope to get my life under control.. i already have a great job but i hold on by a thread just trying to manage myself. i have plans for my future, if i could only stop dismissing them whenever something more fun gets in the way. but i came here to your channel looking for help understanding adhd and i got that. it actually gives me a lot of hope that one day i too could be in a place where i am also unaffected by it and in turn, my kids can have the same chance as everyone else to lead normal lives
I think this is the perfect evolution. You have succeeded in managing your ADHD. Your focus should indeed be sharing your journey. Regurgitating the same old thing is of no service to you…or your audience. For those of us that have subscribed we did so as you were the draw not just ADHD. I feel like you have graduated and now your story is changing. It may not be for everyone but I think you are definitely an inspiration for many. Bon Voyage and safe travels. I know I will still check in.
Great video thanks 🙏 new plan sounds great! x
I love this so much! I can hardly wait to watch the evolution!
Thanks for sharing your evolution so honestly and vulnerably. I’m definitely here for it!
So good to see you again and I’m so happy you are doing well! I totally get that your heart is just not in adhd topics anymore! I’m looking forward to seeing your new videos and where your heart is leading you next!
Appreciate your honesty. All very valid points to which I can definitely relate. Your previous content has really helped me make sense of an adult diagnosis I recently received, so thank you for that and good luck with the next chapter.
Thank you so much for the update-I was wondering about you! I’m glad to hear you’ll continue to make new content, even if it’s not ADHD related. I look forward to your new material!!
That makes total sense. Do what you’re passionate about. I look forward to seeing your upcoming videos, whatever they’re about.
Very good to hear from, Stuart. It looks overall, like, you are at a better place - both physically and mentally. Looks like you have really worked hard to build this foundation for your life and are now f***king ready for working whatever comes next in your life. Good luck with your next endeavors, including your videography business.
Love ❤️ to see you back.
Excited to see where your channel goes!!!🧡👍
So glad you're alive and well! I'm sure loads of people will support you whatever you decide to do. We all understand. Congrats on moving out and being on your own!
Love your honesty and looking forward to your new direction.
Just wanted to say thank you for all your videos! Only found you recently. And I cant say how much you have helped me. Whatever you want to do.. adhd doesn't define you! Massive good luck to whatever you decide to do! ❤
I'm sure the new content will be just as engaging. Looking forward to it!
I’m a new sub, your content has been very insightful and much appreciated ♥︎ totally understandable, I can relate to this video very much so in many aspects of my life. I appreciate you being authentic and true to yourself, it’s beautiful. Can’t wait to see where you are going to take this 🦋
So glad to see you back Stuart and to upload such an open insight into your pathway for going forward with the Channel. You have always made very relatable, helpful and interesting videos and i thank you so much for that. I look forward to seeing your new content and wish you all the best for your perspective on a wider range of topics.
Thank you for your content.. you have genuinely helped me.
Thank you very much for your past ADHD content, it has really helped me figure things out since being diagnosed at the start of the year. Im happy and excited for you and your new journey. Good-luck and take it easy. :)
So glad to see and hear from you again. Excited for what’s coming ahead! Btw: love the Dali painting, one of my favs 🌝
Right on man, whatever you want for the channel matters just as much as what we want. Excited to see the new content!
Best of luck on your new project of content 🙏🏼
Good to see you back Stuart!
I am so glad to see your back. Your previous videos have really helped and I know the new ones will also. Thank you for all the hard work.
Glad to see you back and looking forward to your new content! :)
I miss you, thx for your video update !
Hey bro, I'm glad you've seemed to find your way though the ADHD stuff and the other challenges you had with purpose and what finding a path in life. Wish you the best and yea I'm looking forward to any future content. Stay blessed bud!
Hello 👋🏽 Thanks for the videos in the past and the update. Passion and motivation to make content on KZread is an issue a lot of youtubers go through. You are not alone. All the best for your future plans and content.
Thank you, Stuart, for all your great work. I have followed you for nearly a year and a half and your content has been amazing, personal and very important to me and others. In that time I went from having a suspicion to getting fully diagnosed with ADHD last month. So it is great to see that you yourself have essentially come full circle. You can be very proud of yourself and your work and wish you the best of luck with what life otherwise has in store for you because as you know, life is full of surprises!
Excellent and it's a positive well done for recognising that and being up front and honest!! We all need to have pause button in life ir in areas of our lives to relook at or upgrade! Thank you and will continue to follow! As mental health and well being and ADHD and others are all part of life and we all deal with these in our way!
What you said makes sense. Good luck with your new direction.
I am happy to hear whatever you have to share. You are authentic! Follow your heart!
I'm excited to see your new content! Absolutely go with your gut, you're amazing!
Thanks for sharing! Go for it and follow ‘your brain’ - enjoy the ride and all the best! 🤗
glad you're back you helped me understand a lot about my adhd and also I got great advice from you.
Do what ever videos you like we will still support you!
I have really enjoyed your adhd content and feel like you have taken me from pre-diagnosis through to my first week on meds. You have pretty much covered every ADHD base and I would love to see anything else that you commit your time too!
Thank you, Stuart, your content is still helping so many people out there (myself included). It is so great to see you managing your life well as you set an example to your followers that life with ADHD is not only about struggles and challenges. People can still pursue what they like and be good at what they're doing.
We're with you, man. Let's see where this takes us!
I respect you so much and I totally get it. Go where your heart & brain are taking you 😊 Thank you for letting us know you are alive and well. You've shared so much with us and it's been extremely helpful! You have an honesty about you that surpasses most people (on KZread and in real life). Honestly I would love to watch content from you in the new direction! I look forward to it... whenever that may be... take your time 🤗
I just came across your channel about two weeks ago and seen a few of your videos now. Really buddy do what you feel is best for yourself. The changes that you ,mentioned about sounds like a great idea. Go for it! But seriously take it at your own pace. Don’t burn yourself out over it. Your an awesome guy Stuart, don’t worry we will all be on board with what’s next I’m sure! Think about this in the way of people who change careers, you just want to change what type of videos you do. I wish you the best of luck! Will deffo be following what you do next! Your awesome buddy.
This is a great capstone, anything from here is just gravy. Live your life and be happy, you've made high value content.
Supporting! I like your way of talking and explaining things! Will be watching!
Much appreciate (as always) your honesty & straightforward self-analysis. Echoing many others' comments, I think it's important for you to go where your creative inspiration takes you. ADHD in & of itself does not define a person. And as someone with a very similar form of inattentive ADHD, I'm sure that that part of your personal psychology will inform your future work in constuctuve ways, even if the subject matter has nothing to do with it directly. Best of luck & looking forward to following your new directions!
Sounds like a great idea, I can relate to not wanting ADHD to define you. I'm glad you're doing well, and I just wanted to say thank you. Your content has been super helpful and I'm looking forward to your new stuff.
Glad you are doing well and have some new projects on the go 🤘🤘
I support your shift. I believe that we have to evolve. Keep evolving.
It's always best to make content that interests you personally. Just going through the motions is only going to come across that way to the viewer. So you're doing the right thing. Looking forward to viewing it.
I’m glad you’re managing your adhd well! I’m looking for your new contents.
Thank you for being so honest. So glad to hear you are doing well and doing what you enjoy. I totally get you falling out of love when doing things. I look forward to see your future vids.
I'm in! Welcome back
Hey just found your KZread a few days ago. I was diagnosed 30 years ago. I just always thought it was just an inability to focus. But because of your videos and how to adhd I've learned so much more. A lot of things make sense to me now because of your videos. I'm not leaving because of the switch. In fact I think this is a good direction for anyone of us that is adhd. So thank you and I understand what it's like once that pation is gone.
Oh, I've be wondering where you were!! So happy to see a video from you.. Love from Denmark
I hope you find what you want my man. Anyways got to thank you a lot for putting out an effort to help us lot which is more than most of us ADHDers will do. I have struggled with a lot this year including getting diagnosed for the first time this year and this channel helped me a lot to understand certain things about myself. Anyways thanks again ill try to keep up with your future work. Your existing content will help a lot more people like me moving forward. cheers and good luck!
I like your genuineness and honesty
I found your channel right as you stopped your uploads. I've had quite some time to catch up on your content and it's been so massively useful to me as I have just gotten my diagnosis for ADHD. Your videos helped me understand myself during a time where I had so much going on I couldn't figure anything out myself. I've moved to a different country, I'm doing a new course at university and I'm changing my life around a lot. I'm really glad that I had your old videos to support me and I cannot wait to enjoy your new content as I'm entering a new part of my life!
Congrats on moving out man! And yes do what seems natural in terms of this channel!
Thanks for the honesty with what’s going on with you. I have to say that I found your channel very useful and showed it to other people with ADHD
I think the new direction sounds good. I'm still interested in hearing your views on those things (focus, purpose, etc). I think that's a great new direction
Omgosh. So sad. I actually just discovered your content. I'm seeing a psychiatrist next week for diagnoses of ADHD and Autism potentially. Your videos have already helped tons (though I still need a diagnoses). I think its important to follow your heart and I'm sure all your followers will keep watching you. Also, I kinda like your accent, so it might be cool for me to watch your other content too. All the best!!!
Your channel helped me a bunch. Please never ever delete this channel. I always go back to it and refer to is from time to time.
Thank you for update bro! Your videos have been so helpful for me. Thank you for all the great content you've created so far and i'm excited for all the new content to come. :D
Nice to see you are well Stuart. I look forward to the new direction. Well done for taking the brave decision to follow your intuition. 👏
You have helped me so much and I love your energy. I will be here no matter what content you decide to upload! Stay safe and well 💜
Interestingly, I just found your channel today...and I'm excited, and actually RELIEVED that you're sort of "over" your intense interest in ADHD. It means it's possible to have a regular life. :) I'm looking forward to your old, and your new content.
I love this video I'm glad you're back!! if you want to move away from ADHD content that's fine as long as all the past contents are saved on playlists. I appreciate your honesty and I will listen to your videos whatever they’re about.
You’re so authentic and I like that. I commented a while back that because of you my son is getting the help he needs. (I deleted the comment because I’m weird and sometimes so that.) I’m so grateful and I know you will do well at making any content you’re passionate about!!
Thanks Stuart! your videos on this topic is very helpful to me. All hardwork pays off in time! best
I'm really just happy you are back!! :)
You look great Stuart. I hope everything is going well for you
I love this. So many videos are from people having never ending adhd problems. The fact that your life is moving on is inspirational.
I just discovered your channel today and am now watching this one. 😊 I was diagnosed with AD(H)D recently and your videos resonated with me. I started a KZread channel at the beginning of the year and its been left hanging because I lost interest in the direction that I thought I wanted to go. Life with ADHD is hard. Do what feeds your soul and makes you happy. Hang in there, and best of luck to you. We're rooting for you. Or I am, anyway. 😊 Going with your gut will not lead you astray. Can't wait to see what you do next. 💛
Good. On. You. Love your vision of moving beyond just ADHD, but moving towards working on & "managing" mental health.
So glad to see you again. Welcome back (whatever that means for you). I have missed seeing you.
Well done Stuart. Your channel has been a trully inspirationational to me as 32 year old recently diagnosed with ADHD. I just sit and watch your content when i'm at my lowest because it makes me feel better. Good luck in the future
Looking forward to seeing what you come up with. There's always a chance people may drop off, but you'll pick up other followers. Follow your passion, and best of luck with it.
